Cashmadam: If she has parents or grandchildren she takes care of, mention and prove it.
Does she do any petty business? Thanks for your time cashmadam. What document can I use to back up / prove this ? |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by foley24: 3:18pm On Jul 15, 2023 |
Cashmadam: 1. 6 months statement of account
2. If you are employed, Letter from your employer + all documents relating to your employment (6 months payslips, offer letter, promotion letters, salary increase letter, confirmation letter, ID card)
3. If you are self employed, CAC documents, 6 months statement of your business, evidence of what you do, tax clearance (if you have it, If not, don't worry) + 6 months statement of your personal account
4. If you are married, marriage certificate and data page of your spouse's passport
5. If you have children, their birth certificates and data page of their passports
6. If you have assets (e.g land, house), documents of the assets
7. If you have investments (e.g stock) , documents of the investments
I don't claim to be an expert. I'm employed and my husband is self employed. I listed what we have used for years.
Let me know if you need more clarification. Good luck! Thanks for this. She’s retired. Her income is mostly from my self and sister. You mentioned something about social group as home tie after I posted the refusal letter. Do you have a sample for that please ? Her marriage certificate was issued by a mosque. Can that be used ? I’m the sponsor for the trip.

Nnefab: The trip is not too long, these entry officers are just moving insane this days , my mum got her visa to attend my graduation and I stated on the application that she will be staying for a month.
On the other hand, my friend’s mum application got denied because it was stated on the visa application that she would spend 10days in the UK. The entry officer stated on the refusal letter and I quote “ your application is not genuine because of your claim just to spend 10days in the UK as a first time visitor”. Man is confused at this point |

Cashmadam: So sorry about this.
First, the duration of the trip is too long. She doesn't need a month and 9 days to attend a graduation ceremony.
Also, she needs to show that she has a reason to come back to Nigeria. Does she have parents she takes care of in Nigeria? Does she have grandchildren she takes care of in Nigeria?
Is she very active in her Church/Mosque? Does she have a CSR project she is passionate about?
You need to discuss with your Mum and agree on what you can use as home ties.
It's okay for her to be retired but there must be something that will make her want to come back to Nigeria so you need to think about it carefully.
I suggest you wait before you reapply. She might not be able to attend the graduation. Next time, she can apply to travel for holiday.
Let me know if you need help. She has a landed property in her name Her father is alive and she takes care of him |

Pending on when you receive your CAS, just arrange yourself on how & method you will pay your Visa & IHS fees. Get all your documents set & submit your Visa application ASAP because month of May don dey Corner. Gud luck thanks .... I paid deposit tuition already |
