Those of you saying Kwankwasiyya has taken over Daura, where are they? Why didn't they vote Kwankwaso's candidate?

Politics › Re: Saraki Fires Back, Says Oshiomhole Behaving Like Rain-beaten Chicken by foreshore(m): 6:27am On Aug 11, 2018 |
Croesuscrown: The Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki has replied the All Progressives Congress, APC, party Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, who had said that he (Saraki) would not only be impeached but would also be stopped from returning to the Senate after the 2019 elections. However, Saraki who responded through his media aide, Yusuf Olaniyon, said Oshiomhole is behaving like rain-beaten chicken.
Below is the full statement:
“It is rather surprising that Mr. Adams Oshiomhole is behaving like a rain-beaten chicken, crying all over the place about Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, as if the Senate President is the apparition haunting his life and the sinking ship that he captains.
Having decided not to join the pigs in rolling in the dirt; we would not like to be involved in any meaningless exchange with the demagogue now in charge of APC. However, because he claimed that he was reacting to the issues raised by the Senate President during his World Press Conference, we thought it necessary to give the APC chairman some attention.
Alas, we found that instead of addressing any issue raised by the Senate President, his press conference merely showcased his obsession and those of his sponsors with Saraki’s removal, which he did without any decorum befitting of his age or his awarded office. He brimmed with hate, hurled abuses, threw tantrums, told lies, huffed, puffed. In the end, he said nothing.
It is indeed amazing that the same Oshiomhole, who is now describing Saraki as a politician of no consequence was the same one who only a few months ago was crawling all over the place pleading for Saraki’s support to become chairman. We are sure that those who took him to Saraki several times to plead his case must now be thoroughly embarrassed by his reckless and uncouth manner. By his conduct and utterances, Oshiomhole, who accused Saraki of not acting in national interest needs to do more to convince Nigerians that his desperate desire to become party chairman is not simply to feed his over-sized ego. The position of Oshiomhole and his cohorts in the APC that the Senate President must resign is a mere wishful thinking. They will continue to dream about their planned removal of the Senate President. They will need 73 Senators to lawfully remove Dr. Saraki and they will never get that in the present eight Senate.
The argument of APC that the Senate President must come from a majority party; that the Senate Presidency is their crown and National Assembly is their palace is only supported by ignorance and dangerous delusion. First, the issue of which party is in the majority will only be resolved when the Senate resume. Two, Section 50 (1) (a) of the constitution is clear that any Senator can be elected as Senate President. If the only thing left of the APC change agenda is to change the Senate President we can only wish them goodluck.
Perhaps, Mr. Oshiomhole needs to be better educated about our parliamentary history when he Stated that “For the first time in parliamentary history in Nigeria, we had a situation where the APC had majority of Senators and went on to elect a PDP as Deputy Senate President”. Where is Mr. Oshiomhole when Senator John Wash Pam of the Nigerian People’s Party (NPP) became Deputy Senate President in the Second Republic even when the National Party of Nigeria (NPN) had the majority. The same thing happened in the House of Representatives when NPP’s Rt. Hon. Edwin Umeh Ezeoke was elected Speaker in an NPN majority House. But then, it would require a level of education to understand these things.
What hypocrisy! To think that this same APC were jubilating when Rt. Hon. Aminu Tambuwal retained his position after he defected from the PDP and still retained his seat, even when his new party was in the minority. These are people whose standards of morality are infinitely elastic. We are sure the remaining APC Senators need to do a lot of work to bring Oshiomhole up to speed about parliamentary practice. His ignorance are too clear in his comments about how the Senate was adjourned on July 24, 2018, the distribution of committee chairmanship in the Senate and the difference between the post of Senate President and Minority Leader.
He has made so much song and dance about Mr. Godswill Akpabio resigning as Senate Minority Leader when he left the PDP to join APC. For this, Akpabio has become his hero and a symbol of honour. He obviously does not understand that the post of Minority Leader is a strictly party affair. And the PDP simply decided who to give it as it is not even a position that was mentioned in the constitution. Whereas, the Senate President position is a constitutional creation, which required majority votes of all the members. Again, we don’t expect people whose only experience in politics is at the provincial levels to understand this. No wonder they are talking of crowns and inheritance.
The fair distribution of the Committee chairmanship is one of the stabilizing factors in the 8th Senate and has helped it in achieving more than all its predecessors. We need to inform this divisive element who now leads APC that if he wants to know why the 2018 budget was delayed, he should ask the heads of the MDAs. We reckon that should be easy for him since he is now their ‘headmaster’, moving around with canes to whip ministers into line.
Oshiomhole once again demonstrated his lack of sense of history by talking of Buhari winning more votes in Kwara than Saraki. We are sure President Buhari himself will disagree with the APC chairman. We invite the APC chairman to look at the figures of votes secured by the President in 2003, 2007, 2011 and 2015 to know that the difference is clear, like a commercial advert stated.
We hereby assure this garrulous, tactless and reckless APC chairman that a million of Adams Oshiomhole cannot remove Saraki as Senate President. His illegal plots, can only feed his insatiable ego and keep him awake at nights. But it will remain an exercise in futility.”

nwoke37: Buhari Gets Tower Named After Him
The construction of ”Buhari Tower,” a signature infrastructure named after President Muhammadu Buhari, would commence in the next four weeks in the Centenary City in Abuja.
The project was conceived in 2014 to serve as a remarkable project to mark Nigeria’s 100 years of existence.
It was learned from one of the co-developers, Alhassan Baba Dantata, that the ‘Buhari Towers’ would house many residential flats which would be sold to middle-income earners.
At the formal unveiling of the City’s master plan on Wednesday, Dantata said that naming of the towers after the incumbent President had no political undertone whatsoever.
“The name ‘Buhari’ represents the poor people of Nigeria. So as a businessman and an admirer of the president, I’m only doing this as an honour to the pro-masses vision of president Buhari.”

AutoJoshNG: The Lagos Rail Mass Transit is a rail system currently being constructed.
The Lagos Rail Mass Transit network consists of both the Red Line and the Blue Line.
The Blue Line is the first section of the network. This particular line is entirely funded by the Lagos State Government. It is being designed and is envisioned to consist eventually of seven lines.
The project is managed by the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA).
The logistics and equipment required for the operation of the line include electric power, signaling, rolling stock, and fare collection equipment. All these will be provided by the private sector under a Concession Contract. LAMATA is responsible for policy direction, regulation, and infrastructure for the network.
The Blue line of the “Lagos Light Rail” Project is expected to begin at Marina on Lagos Island and extend to Okokomaiko.
The total length of the Blue line (Okokomaiko to Marina) is 27km (17 miles). It comprises a total of 13 stations namely Marina, Ebute Ero, Iddo, Iganmu, Alaba, Mile 2, Festac, Alakija, Trade Fair station, Volkswagen station, LASU and the Okokomaiko station.
A journey along the entire Blue line is approximated for 35 minutes.
A loan of $200 million was announced to have been obtained by the Lagos state government from the World Bank loan for the completion of the Light Rail Project and other infrastructure projects.
According to the current governor of Lagos state, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, the project is driven by commercial loans and bonds leaning on the state’s Internally Generated Revenue.
The Blue line is expected be constructed at the cost of about N70 billion.
Though, the project has missed several completion deadlines, it is evident that it fast approaching its completion stage.
The Lagos metroline project was first conceived and proposed in 1983 by by the then governor of Lagos State – Lateef Jakande. A year before the completion date, the Metroline Project was terminated by the Buhari-led Federal Government. The reason given for the cancellation of the project was the unavailability of funds.
The cancellation of the Lagos metro-line project in 1983 was at a loss of over $78 million to the Lagos tax payers.

She was rescued just before she was burned to death by her people for over a year now.
The Danish worker shared the pictures of the girl on her social media account yesterday as she highlighted the work her organisation is doing in the region to help children like Queen.
The Danish lady said;
The scars on her body will never go away. It´s a reminder of the superstition so deeply rooted in the African culture. Queen has been with us for a year now.
In the beginning she was terrified, weak and very fragile. But our team led by our Director of Child Development @nsidibeorok have worked so hard to make her a strong girl again. To make her feel worthy of love. To give her self-esteem.
You can recognize survivors of abuse by their courage. One day Queen will tell her story. Her will to survive and strength is remarkable. She is my little hero.

Crime › Re: Arrested Dollar Fraudsters In Lagos Reveal How They Dupe Their Victims by foreshore(m): 2:49pm On Aug 08, 2018 |
EmagNig: Two suspected dollar fraudsters in Lagos, Mr. George Osagie, 51 and Makinde Kudus, 28, have confessed that they were trained as scammers and have duped many people of millions of Naira with fake Dollars.
They revealed that once they were able to stir the greed in any person, such a person became an easy prey.
The suspects were arrested in a popular hotel and paraded at the State Command and exhibits were recovered which included the fake dollars they had used in their operations.
This was confirmed by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal, at the State Command, Ikeja, Lagos.
The police boss said on 28th June, 2018, the police received information from members of the public that there were some group of persons going around the metropolis defrauding innocent people through magical means. Based on the information, operatives from FSARS, Ikeja and the Command swung into action and arrested them at Nglasia Hotel, Ilasa, Lagos.
He said that they were searched and in the process some exhibits were recovered from them which included gallons of liquid label, cash tank of US dollars suspected to be fake and platinum brokers international incorporation documents.
CP Edgal said that during interrogation, they confessed that it was their means of livelihood and they had duped many people because of their greed.
He said that on further investigation, the police discovered that the gang had duped one Victoria Awoniyi of the sum of N5m, Taiwo Kayode, N300,000, Adebisi Adebayo, N500,000 and many other victims. The police boss said that investigations were still on in view of arresting other members of the gang for prosecution.
The suspects, they admitted that it was their daily routine and that the exhibits recovered from them including the fake dollars were the instruments they used.
They confessed that many became victims due to their greed and foolishness. They said that some of the victims believed that they can double their money with the dollars they were shown but do not ask where they got the dollars from and why they (the suspects) wanted to help them multiply their money instead of doing so for their own relations.

Politics › Re: APC Backtracks, Defends SSS Siege On National Assembly by foreshore(m): 1:59pm On Aug 08, 2018 |
erunz: The All Progressives Congress (APC) has exercised a U-turn in its position on the development at the National Assembly on Tuesday.
State Security Service (SSS) operatives were joined by police officers to prevent lawmakers from accessing the parliament for several hours on Tuesday morning.
Following widespread media attention and outrage from Nigerians, as well as attempts by furious lawmakers to break into the premises, the security agents ultimately allowed access to the National Assembly. But the access was only granted to serving lawmakers. All other members of staff at the National Assembly, as well as journalists and other independent observers were denied entry.
The siege lasted until late afternoon when SSS operatives stood down after receiving reports that Acting President Yemi Osinbajo did not authorise the deployment and had fired the director-general of the secret police, Lawal Daura, as a consequence.
The APC joined other individuals, groups and even foreign diplomatic missions to condemn the attack on Tuesday night.
The party described the security agencies’ action at the time as an “unfortunate invasion” and dissociated itself from “any act of brigandage and affront on the sacred symbols of our budding democracy.”
But this morning, another statement came in from the party, which essentially contradicted its position yesterday. The party said Mr Saraki was the one who orchestrated the plot, and that security agencies only moved in to prevent any outbreak of violence.
The APC statements, the first at 6:41 p.m. on Tuesday and the second at 8:02 a.m. on Wednesday are reproduced respectively as follows:
APC Condemns National Assembly Invasion
The All Progressives Congress (APC) condemns in strongest terms, today’s unfortunate invasion of the National Assembly by security forces. Our Party wholly dissociates itself from any act of brigandage and affront on the sacred symbols of our budding democracy.
Our Party remains a law abiding political organisation and advises every constituent part to abide by the tenets of our constitution and our democracy.
Whilst our contention with the leadership of the National Assembly as currently constituted is a matter of public record, we still believe that the legislature as an independent arm of government must be allowed free reign for vibrant contestation of ideas and values amongst its members within the context of their constitutional mandate and for the benefit of the Nigerian people.
We call for a more harmonious working relationship between the various Arms of Government in the general interest of the country.

How Security Operatives Stopped Saraki’s Plan to Foment Violence over Impeachment
Following Tuesday’s incident at the National Assembly, our investigations have now uncovered the sinister plot hatched by the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki to foment violence in the legislative chamber all in a bid to stop his impeachment.
Our investigations uncovered and noted the following:
We are now aware that the timely intervention of the security operatives forestalled the planned violence which could have led to possible deaths, injuries and destruction of property in the National Assembly on Tuesday.
Why did the Senate President mobilise thugs to the National Assembly who almost lynched Hon. E.J. Agbonayinma, the only APC federal lawmaker present but for the timely intervention of security operatives.
Why did the Senate President reconvene the National Assembly? Ostensibly as a pre-emptive move to frustrate federal lawmakers move to impeach him.
Is it not curious that only Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) federal lawmakers were present in their numbers-some as early as 7am, while the majority APC federal lawmakers were elsewhere holding a caucus meeting on the state of the nation.
We call on security agencies and relevant bodies to as a matter of urgency probe these findings and take all necessary and legitimate action to stop these illegalities which pose a direct and ominous threat to our democracy.
As espoused in our earlier statement, whilst our contention with the leadership of the National Assembly as currently constituted is a matter of public record, we still believe that the legislature as an independent arm of government must be allowed free reign for vibrant contestation of ideas and values amongst its members within the context of their constitutional mandate and for the benefit of the Nigerian people.
Finally, we reiterate our call for the Senate President to resign from the position immediately as he no longer has the moral and legitimate ground to occupy that position as a member of the minority PDP. Going by the popular axiom, ‘the majority will have their way, but the minority will have their say’.
