https://i2.wp.com/tushmagazine.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Erin-Ijesha.jpg
TLC warned us back in the 90s not to go chasing waterfalls but we beg to disagree as they didn’t see the beauty that is Erin-Ijesha waterfall. Cascading over rugged rocks, this waterfall provides plenty of chances for stunning photography, provided you don’t mind getting splashed. You can climb each of the fall’s seven levels and once at the top, the view is simply breath-taking! Due to the mountainous terrain of the fall, there are also hiking opportunities for the adventurous at heart. Other attractions in the state include Ooni’s Palace, Ife Museum, Susan Wenger Sacred Grove, Nike Art Centre and the world-famous Osun-Osogbo Festival
Kajuru Castle in Kaduna State
https://i0.wp.com/tushmagazine.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Kajuru-3.jpeg
This medieval-designed villa, enviously located on a hill in Kajuru village, has grown in popularity to become a tourist magnet for all. This destination is best visited as part of a group as there are 5 rooms, a living room and dining area, a fully serviced kitchen, a sauna, a swimming pool, a grill, detached porch and an open rooftop area for partying. Around the castle are breath-taking views of nature which you may be tempted to conquer if you decide to go hiking. Overall, a bit of heaven in the middle of unspoilt nature.
Obudu Mountain Resort in Cross River
https://i0.wp.com/tushmagazine.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Obudu-2.jpg
With accolades such as “heaven on earth”, “the best place for your honeymoon” and “a place to experience nature at its best”, this southern resort is definitely up there with the best. The cable car to the top of the mountain is definitely an experience to cherish for a lifetime as the car ascends above the mountain, giving you a chance to appreciate the fine details of the mountain below. Activities at the resort includes golfing, swimming, hiking, bird-watching and there is a fitness centre if you are a gym buff. While in Cross River, you may want to visit the National Park, Afi Mountain Wildlife Sanctuary and Agbokim Waterfalls.
Yankari Game Reserve in Bauchi
https://i0.wp.com/tushmagazine.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Yankari.jpeg
This is the biggest Safari in Nigeria and currently boasts of having the largest herd of elephants in Nigeria and even one of the largest in West Africa. Best time to visit is during the dry season and the hottest periods are usually March & April. There is a wide range of animal species in this season including West African lion, African bush elephant, olive baboon, tantalus monkey, roan antelope, African buffalo amongst the over 40 animal species present there. There are also more than 350 bird species in the park. Cap off your safari adventure with a dip in the Wikki Warm Spring. When in Bauchi, also stop by the Emir of Bauchi Palace and Sir Tafawa Balewa Tomb Monument.

PrettyCrystal: A heartbroken man has narrated how his brother passed away at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) due to the alleged negligence of medical personnel. According to the bereaved identified as Yommy, his brother named Segun (pictured below) died at the hospital despite all the screams from him that the case was an emergency.
He alleged that the hospital officials ignored him for hours and later attended to his brother but by that time, it was already late. His brother passed away in his arms.
Read below what the heartbroken man shared on Facebook;
All the General Hospital in Nigeria is nothing but a dead zone center where every patient is not sure of coming back alive. Their nonchalant attitude killed my brother. We got to navy town hospital they said no facilities to treat him that we should go to Lagos university teaching hospital.(Luth) we got there around after six(6).
We were shouting emergency emergency emergency nobody answered not even the security were moved. Then I call a matron working there she was off duty but did her best to call some people on duty. Despite are call they didn't answer. my brother was struggling for breath in held him telling him the we never plan to depart this way.
He was calling my name and other peoples name. I was shouting doctor pls nurse pls don't let my brother die. they didn't answer even people around that brought patients they said that is how they use to do.
All efforts was abortive my brother struggled for more than 5 hours. It was even inside the small shuttle bus inside the hospital compound they gave him drip. All what they requested for we gave them. It was past 8 my brother stop struggling he became weak couldnt breath again was just moving his legs.
That was when they brought their bed for us to put him Inside it was not up to 10 minutes I was asked to control myself that my brother is gone.
They killed my brother because he wasn't given attention despite having money to purchase all they requested for. My GOD will judge them all. Segun rest on and sleep well I will forever miss you. Sun re.

Politics › Re: Stop Disrespecting Buhari, Nigerian Government Warns Media by foreshore(m): 9:24pm On Sep 06, 2018 |
weIMPORT: The Nigerian government on Thursday admonished the media to stop denigrating the person of President Muhammadu Buhari on their platforms.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, gave the admonition when he paid advocacy visit to the Abuja office of the “Peoples Daily’’ newspaper to drum support for national campaign against fake news.
Mr Mohammed, who was reacting to a recent editorial published by a National dailies, said while the press was free to criticise the president and the administration, such criticism must not be to smear the person of the president.
“There was an editorial in an otherwise respected national daily a few days ago that without any scintilla evidence, they denigrated the person of Mr President.
“Make no mistake about this, the media is free to criticise any President but not to denigrate anybody.
“If you have the facts, please come out. How can anybody say Mr President favoured one group than any other?
“The President of a country, irrespective of the party or tribe which he comes from, is the symbol of the country.
“When you denigrate him, you are denigrating yourself. We therefore want to appeal to the media organisations to desist from this.
“Some of them are consumed by hatred and bitterness that they throw cautions to the winds. This is not healthy either for the media or for the country,’’ he said.
The minister stressed that fake news was beyond publishing what was not true.
“When you hide under editorial to pursue agenda which are driven largely by sentiment, emotion, vengeance and bitterness, it does not augur well for the country,’’ he said.
Mr Mohammed said the issue of herdsmen and farmers clash in Nigeria was largely being driven by fake news.
The minister reiterated that the clash had little or nothing to do with ethnicity and religion; rather a fall out of demography, climate change and in some cases, criminality.
He urged the media to be vigorous and circumspect in looking at the issue before arriving at erroneous conclusion.
In defending the position, the minister explained:
“If you remember in 1960 the country population was 45 million today we are 190 million hence the struggle for scarce resources.
“Lake Chad used to occupy 25,000sq km in 1963, today, the same lake has shrunk to 2500 sq km yet 35 million live from Central African Republic, Cameroon, Niger, Nigeria depend on the lake.
“The Lake is the natural source for their fishing, irrigation farming and water supply.
“This is the tension we are seeing. It has nothing to do with religion or ethnicity.
The minister also gave the example of Zamfara State where he said the country had lost more lives to cattle rustling than those killed in Benue, Plateau, Taraba States.
He said both the rustlers and the owners of the cattle in the Zamfara were Fulanis and Muslims.
“How do we input religious and ethnic motives into this? It is the duty of the media to look at this and interrogate it very seriously.
“It is a pity that the purveyors of fake news have not relented. They are perfecting their strategy to de-market this administration and it is so sad that some main stream media have joined in this,’’ he said.
Mr Mohammed also gave the recent fake report that 48 soldiers were killed as a result of Boko Haram insurgent activities.
He said even when the military had denied it vigorously, the media houses, including a respected international media organisation that published the story had not come out with any proof.
“When lives are lost, the military has the obligation to inform the family of the deceased so they cannot cover up.
“We should give respect to the gallant men and women in uniform who are daily sacrificing their lives for us to sleep. When you file this kind of report they are demoralised,’’ he said.
The minister said the rise in the phenomenon of fake news was because it was difficult by naysayers to fault the Buhari’s administration on performance.
“Whether on issues of security, infrastructure, fighting corruption, agriculture or social investment programes, we challenged anybody to a debate.
“We will tell them exactly what we have done,’’ he said.
Mr Mohammed said fake news was a global issue and each country had different approach to combating it including the UK that was contemplating legislating punitive fines on fake social media reports.
He however reiterated the position of the federal government not to coerce or censor but appeal to the sense of responsibility and patriotism of the media.
The Editor-in-Chief of the Peoples Daily, Hameed Bello, thanked the minister for the visit and gave the assurance of the medium to keep fighting against the menace of fake news.

dainformant: The operatives of Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested three one-chance robbers on the Third Mainland Bridge while another jumped into the Lagoon with the gang’s loot.
The robbers, John Akinyemi, 27; Paul Oliseh, 37 and Amos Williams, 12, were arrested on Monday afternoon on the Third Mainland bridge after a chase by the Rapid Response Squad patrol team monitoring Iyana-Oworo.
The policemen after being informed that the one-chance robbers were operating around the area, chased the bus, a Volkwagen Transporter with the registration number, AKD 562 XP to the bridge.
The robbers, after being double crossed by the officers on the Third Mainland Bridge, abandoned their vehicle and were fleeing on foot when they were arrested.

According to the leaders of the gang, John Akinyemi, “there were four of us. I was in charge of calling the team to work. It was our first trip for the day. We took four passengers in Estate Bus Stop in Alapere. They were going to Oshodi. We dispossessed them and dropped them off before Iyana-Oworo one after the other.

EmagNig: A 35-year-old woman identified as Ronke Ajayi has vowed to sell all her belongings in order to purchase President Muhammadu Buhari's nomination form of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to contest 2019 presidential election.
The woman mentioned that with President Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo's re-election in 2019, the future of her unborn children is bright. She believes Buhari deserves second term in office based on the achievements he recorded in the last three years of his administration.
It was previously reported that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) proposed N55 million for the nomination and expression of interest forms for its presidential ticket.
It also proposed N22.5 million for its governorship ticket but the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party later rejected the proposals, asking the NWC to review the proposition downward.
In the proposal, the nomination form for the presidency costs N50 million, while the expression of interest form goes for N5 million. For the governorship ticket of the party, the nomination fee costs N20 million, while the expression of interest form cost N2.5 million.
Also, other nomination and expression of interest forms for elective offices were reviewed upward.

goldcoinhub: The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, has authoritatively mentioned that President Muhammadu Buhari is healthier than most Nigerians and so he is fit to rule the nation.
He said the two indices and experience of the President could not be found on those who were eyeing the presidential seat in the 2019 general elections, The Punch reports.
Ngige who spoke with journalists in Awka, Anambra State, said when Malaysia was in trouble politically and economically, it had to beckon on a 93-year-old, Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad, to lead it as a prime minister.
Reminded that Buhari seemed to be fatigued by age and ailments, Ngige said, “That man (Buhari) you see there is healthier than 80 per cent of Nigerians.
“I’m a medical doctor; I can tell you authoritatively that he is healthier than most people who see his health as an issue.
“He sits for over eight hours during our executive meetings. While some of us would be going for tea break to stretch our legs, Mr President would sit on his seat continuously, drinking only water.
“I can tell you authoritatively as a medical doctor of over three decades standing that Mr President is physically and mentally healthy. He is healthier than 80 per cent of Nigerians.
Speaking on the allegations of marginalisation of the Igbo by the APC government, he said Ndigbo were the architect of their doom.
He asked the Igbo to shun primordial sentiments and expand their political horizons by thinking positively and reaching out.
He said the trouble with the Igbo was that they were always self-effacing.
He said:
“There’s nothing that is being shared by the Buhari government that is not equitably done. Buhari has five flagship projects; Lagos-Ibadan to Ilorin Mambila Power Plants; Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Highway; Second Niger Bridge and East West roads.
“You can see how it was shared. So, how are you(Igbo) left out, why are you crying marginalisation, why are you crying wolf when there is none and it is this mentality that I’m telling you people that you have to come out from.
“So, all I’m saying in effect is that you (Igbo) must do political engineering; that’s the Igbo of the South-East and the step to take forward is to support a Buhari presidency for 2019/2023 and vote for it with all their strengths. By so doing, they will not be left out in the power-sharing that will come thereafter like was done at this period.”

Crime › Re: 3 Months In Prison Was Hell - Man Framed Up By SARS For Robbery by foreshore(m): 7:34pm On Sep 02, 2018 |
EmagNig: An instrumentalist, Temitope Adeyemi, who was framed up by SARS operatives for robbery, spent three months in Kirikiri Medium Prison where he described as Hell.
Adeyemi who shared his experience with Gbenga Adeniji of The Punch explained that the Police refused to make a thorough investigation before taking him to court.
What job do you do?
I am an instrumentalist and I am from Osun State.
What happened the day you were arrested by the police?
On May 23, 2018, I attended a choir vigil at my church in the Ifako area of Lagos. After the vigil the next day, I decided to rest well and I left the church around 11am to my house in Amikanle, AIT area, Alagbado, Lagos. I took a tricycle. As I alighted from the tricycle, I discovered that my phone battery was low. I decided to go to a friend’s shop close by to charge it before going home. He operates a gaming centre and I also used the opportunity to play with him.
After about an hour in the shop, two men and a woman came and asked me to come out that they wanted to see me. I initially didn’t answer them because I was busy. I later noticed that the two men with the woman were a youth leader in the area and a man who collects money from commercial buses at the bus stop. But I don’t know the woman. They left and returned about 15 minutes later. I left the shop and went to meet them to know why they wanted to see me.
What did they tell you they wanted to see you for?
The men said the woman told them that some people came to rob in their house on the Monday of that week and that she recognised me as one of the robbers. I was dumbfounded and couldn’t instantly comprehend the allegation.
She said the person wore a green T-shirt. When I composed myself after the initial shock, I told her that I could not do such a thing and that I was even at home throughout with my mother on the Monday she mentioned. I also said I don’t have a green T-shirt. It was like a dream to me. She also said her husband was not at home the day of the incident.
As she was talking, a man appeared from nowhere and he started shouting, “That is him. That is the guy.” I later learnt that he was the husband of my accuser.
I was speechless as he spoke. I couldn’t understand how the husband, whom the wife just said was not at home when a phantom robbery happened, could say I was a thief that came to their house. I was prepared to follow them anywhere especially as I was the only one defending myself in their midst.
I left my bag containing about N2,000, a toothbrush, bathing soap and some clothes which I took to church. I followed them to Amikanle police post and when we got there, the officers there directed us to the police station along the AIT road.
When we got there, the DPO didn’t hear from me. He kept saying that I should speak the truth and return two phones and a laptop which the woman said I stole. He stated that I would soon confess if I was well handled. I insisted that I was innocent and that I wasn’t a robber. I told him that I was an instrumentalist and didn’t even know the woman or where she lives.
I expected the police officer to hear me out and carry out an investigation. As the DPO spoke, the woman’s husband said that he should not worry that he had called SARS officers to come and take me away. I didn’t know what to do at that point as I was in tears.
What later happened?
About an hour later, two men came in a van and introduced themselves as officers of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad. They ordered me to put off my shirt and used it to blindfold me. They also put handcuffs on my hands and legs. They said they were taking me to their office in Ikeja. As we made to leave, my accuser’s husband told the policemen that I dropped a big bag at the shop and that it contained guns and about N360,000. They led me to the place and when they checked the bag, they saw that it contained N2, 000, a toothbrush , bathing soap and some clothes.
They arrested a lady in my friend’s shop where the people earlier came. She was asked to enter the van and we all went to their office. They said on the way that they would buy a rope which they would use to hang me in their office. But they couldn’t buy any as they said the ones they saw were not strong enough. When we got to their office, we were asked to write statements and we did. We just started crying. By that time they had removed the handcuffs on my leg and the blindfold.
Someone offered to buy the lady food but she said she was not hungry because she was fasting. She was later released because I didn’t see her anymore.
On the next day, I was ordered to lie down on a long bench and one of them used the flat side of a cutlass to beat me on my bare back. Each time I fell off the bench, I commanded to lie on the bench again facing down. I cried my eyes out. On the third day, they took me to a room upstairs and each person, who passed by, asked me what I did. They would say I was a robber and the person would kick, beat and punch me. I initially thought I was going to die. I always told them that I was not a robber that I never stole from anyone. On that day, my pastor and mother came and they stopped beating me before they allowed them to see me. But I was too weak to say anything.
When did they take you to court?
It was later that the investigating police officer came to tell me to have a bath that I was dirty. He also bought food for me within the premises. On my first day in court, my accuser and the IPO didn’t show up. I was charged with armed robbery.
I was also not granted bail and asked to be taken in a Black Maria to the Kirikiri Medium Prison. I was really happy the day I was granted a bail. But I was still trying to meet the bail conditions when the Directorate of Public Prosecutions legal advice came that I should be released.
As you can see in the copy of the legal advice, the DPP noted that the police didn’t investigate any of what I said. It further added that, “This office shall not proceed against the suspect based solely on the doubtful identification of the suspect. Consequently, the doubt raised should be resolved in his favour.”
I was released from prison on August 24. I spent three months in detention on trumped-up charge. I headed straight to church. I was not feeling fine and still sickly till now.
How would you describe your experience in prison while awaiting trial?
It was as if I was in hell on earth. It was not a good experience at all. I have never experienced such a thing before. I always prayed to God that He should please see to my release because I was innocent. I served as the assistant pastor in the cell where I was placed. We prayed every day. I prayed that God should save me from false accusation since I was coming from his house the day my accusers accosted me.
What lessons did you learn from the experience?
I learnt lots of things. I discovered that I have to be more careful and calm. It was not that I wasn’t calm or careful before now, but I saw reasons to do that more. I cannot in my life think that someone could just accuse me of what I didn’t do.
I have yet to understand why they did that to me but in all, I thank God. I learnt that it is a new gimmick where someone would just identify another person at random that he partook in a phony robbery in their house. They will then invite the police and name a particular amount which would cover the said stolen items. Once you are able to pay, they let you off the hook else they say you would go to court.
I recall that they kept asking me to pay N360,000 which my accusers said was the cost of two phones and laptop they said were stolen. But I couldn’t pay for what I didn’t steal. I was in court thrice and neither the IPO nor my accusers showed up. I was unjustly beaten and locked up. I leave all to God.
Is there anything you want to say?
I want to really thank PUNCH for its stories on the matter when it went viral on the Internet. I also appreciate Betty Abah of CEE-HOPE who stood by us during the travail and a legal aid NGO, Gavel, that worked on the case. I thank God immensely for sending all these people to me during my time of urgent need.
How are you feeling now?
I am just getting better. The tests I did at a hospital in Ogba area of Lagos on August 27 showed that I have a perforated ear drum and an injured arm and shoulder.

Politics › Re: 2019: Fresh Crisis Rocks APC, Officials Accused Of Planning ‘illegal Meeting’ by foreshore(m): 2:01pm On Sep 02, 2018 |
AllTheWayUp: The attention of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been drawn to an illegal meeting scheduled to hold on Sunday at Transcorp Hilton hotel in Abuja by some members of our Party organs, with a view to fault the decisions made by the NWC followed by the National Executive Committee (NEC) as regards the mode of the Party’s primary elections.
We want to state clearly that the meeting which has been fixed for 2pm is illegal and an attempt to puncture the sincere efforts being made by the Comrade Adams Oshiomhole-led NWC to reposition our Party ahead the 2019 General Elections and to ensure unity, equity and justice in the Party.
The outcome of such meeting which is already known will be a nullity and we admonish our members to disregard such meetings in the interest of the Party. It is illegal to call such meetings outside the purview of the constituted authority.
The APC stated this in a statement by its spokesperson, Yekini Nabena.
The party said the illegal meeting is “with a view to fault the decisions made by the NWC followed by the National Executive Committee (NEC) as regards the mode of the Party’s primary elections.”
The APC last week held its NEC meeting which was attended by President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
One of the major resolutions of the NEC meeting was that the party would adopt direct primaries for its presidential ticket while state chapters would decide whether or not to utilise direct or indirect primaries for other tickets.
Direct primaries involve all members of the party voting to elect candidates while indirect primaries involves delegates doing the election.
It is not clear if that decision was the issue to be discussed at the Sunday meeting.
“The identities of those plotting such meetings have been identified and unless they desist from such they will be dealt with in line with the party’s constitution at the appropriate time,” the APC spokesperson said.

The NWC will resist any attempt to disrupt the current peace and harmony prevailing in our great Party after the exit of some members of our Party.
We urge any member who is not satisfied with the decisions of the Party to utillise channels provided by the Party’s constitution to air their views.
We remain focused in delivering good governance to Nigerians and above all ensuring the victory for our Party come 2019 and we will not be intimidated by the antics of a few in ensuring success for our Party.

Crime › Re: Killers Of Theo 'Chiboy' Mbakwe Free Sister After Receiving N600k Ransom by foreshore(m): 5:25pm On Sep 01, 2018 |
GistersNG: The gunmen who killed a businessman, Theo Mbakwe, and abducted his kid sister on Saturday in Amaigbo, Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo State, have released her.
A family source told our correspondent that the girl, who was abducted after the fleeing gunmen killed her elder brother, was freed after a ransom of N600,000 was paid by her family.
The source revealed that the kidnap victim was immediately hospitalised after her family members picked her from where her abductors dropped her owing to the shock and trauma she suffered seeing her brother murdered in her presence.
The source said, “The young girl has regained her freedom after days in the kidnapers’ den. She was freed on Thursday morning. The sum of N600,000 was paid by her elder brother to secure her freedom.
“The girl was immediately hospitalised. She was in a bad state. The shock she suffered seeing her brother murdered in cold blood in her presence and the trauma she went through in the kidnapers’ den aggravated her health condition.”
Southern City News had reported that the gunmen had earlier demanded N3m, but settled for N1m after much plea.
A source had said, “The family is running around to raise the money and free the lady. They don’t want to lose another member of the household after losing Theo.
“The abducted girl is in pains. The kidnappers gave her a mobile phone to speak to her family members and she kept crying. Her condition is bad.”
It would be recalled that Mbakwe, popularly known as Chiboy, was shot dead in front of his parents’ house by the gunmen who abducted the lady from the victim’s vehicle on Saturday.
Our correspondent gathered that the deceased was the first son of the late Chief T.C. Mbakwe, the first indigenous paint manufacturer in Nigeria.
The State Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi, had told our correspondent on the telephone that the police would come up with a positive result.

Trackrec: Lai Mohammed, minister of information and culture, says the country is fast becoming a destination for tourists because of the favourable policies of the Muhammadu Buhari administration.
In a statement, Segun Adeyemi, media aide to the minister, quoted Mohammed as saying this when he received the organisers and contestants of Miss Polo International Beauty Pageant at his office in Abuja on Monday.
The minister said apart from ensuring the security of lives and properties, the federal government is also working to provide infrastructure such as power, roads, and rail.
“There is no doubt that Nigeria is fast becoming a destination of choice for international tourists, thanks to the country’s hospitable people, the country’s increasingly-high rating in the international community and the successes achieved by the present administration in ensuring the security of lives and property, as well as providing infrastructure such as power, roads, and rail,” the statement read.
“The administration’s visa on arrival policy is also helping in making Nigeria a destination of choice for tourists and business people in general.
“The federal government will continue to pursue those policies that are fast turning Nigeria into a destination of choice; enhancing security, building infrastructure, implementing the tourism master-plan, and strengthening the visa on arrival policy.”
He said the surprise visit by France President Emmanuel Macron to the African Shine in Lagos also indicated that Nigeria is now set to receive global tourists.
On her part, Ibife Alufohai, president of the Miss Polo International Beauty Pageant, said the pageant is not just about beauty alone but an avenue to recognise excellence in creativity.
