Maduka Okoye to join Fortuna Dusseldorf first team now that they have been promoted to the Bundesliga.

I hope he fights so hard for that first team spot to be their first choice goalkeeper or atleast the second choice goalkeeper.

That's a good one. Now, should he called even if he doesn't get to play?

Galatasaray to pay Ahmed Musa £4 million pounds a year’

By admin - July 2, 2018, 9:22 am

SCORENigeria has again scooped that top Turkish club Galatasaray have agreed to pay Nigeria World Cup star Ahmed Musa four million pounds a year after tax as they battle to snatch him away from Premier League club Leicester City.

A top source told SCORENigeria: “Nothing has been sealed yet but the offers have continued to pour in for Musa especially after his goals against Iceland at the World Cup.

“The player’s new agents are studying the various offers and one of them is from Galatasaray, who are willing to pay him four million pounds a year.”

A top Saudi club have also made an audacious offer of 40 million pounds over four years for Ahmed Musa.

They are expected to now send a formal bid.

Ahmed Musa still has two years left on his contract with Leicester City, who forked out about 16 million pounds to sign him from Russian army club CSKA Moscow in 2016.

However, he has failed to establish himself at ‘The Foxes’ and so had to go on loan to former club CSKA Moscow in the second half of last season.

Onyekuru set to head back to Anderlecht after ‘I won’t return’ outburst

By admin - July 3, 2018, 7:26 am

Henry Onyekuru still has a season-long loan at Anderlecht according to reports
Henry Onyekuru is set to return to Anderlecht on another loan from Everton even after he recently said ‘I certainly will not return to Anderlecht’.

According to Liverpool Echo, Onyekuru has a two-season loan at Anderlecht and even though the exciting Nigeria forward has had some issues with the deposed Belgian champions, he is obliged to return to the club.

Onyekuru rowed with Anderlecht after he injured his knee at former club KAS Eupen last year when he sharply disagreed with them that he will need surgery for the injury.

He later blamed the club for not making the Super Eagles final World Cup squad after he did not get playing time on his return from the injury.

Idowu’s Agent Denies CSKA, Spartak Moscow Links

July 3, 2018 2:22 pm

By Johnny Edward:

Brian Idowu’s agent William Davila has debunked reports linking his player with a move to CSKA Moscow and Spartak Moscow, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Idowu has been linked with a move away from Amkar Perm following his performances for the Super Eagles at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia wher he played in all three games for Nigeria.

Davila admitted to a Russian online website, championat.com that he has been in contact with another Moscow based team (either of Dynamo Moscow, Locomotiv Moscow) which is aside from CSKA Moscow and Spartak Moscow.

He also revealed that his player will be willing to play in Russia if the conditions are favourable.

“I do not know anything about CSKA’s interest in Idowu,” Davila told championat.com.

“I had contact with another Moscow club, but it’s not CSKA and not Spartak. I can say nothing more. Does Brian want to play in Russia? Why not? But it all depends on the conditions.”

KAA Gent to sell Peter Olayinka to Slavia Prague after rejecting 5 million Euros bid

By admin - July 3, 2018, 8:28 am

Belgian club KAA Gent may now agree to sell Nigeria striker Peter Olayinka to Slavia Prague after initially rejecting a five million Euros bid by the Czech Republic club.

There have also been firm offers from Germany and France for the lanky striker, who will earn more at Slavia Prague than what he receives at Gent.

Slavia Prague, who finished runners-up in the Czech league last season and will feature in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers in the new season, are now owned by a wealthy Chinese conglomerate.

Representatives of Olayinka and the Czech club are now due in Belgium to discuss the transfer.

Olayinka joined Gent in January 2016, but he has since been shipped out on loan to Dukla Prague and Belgian club Zulte-Waregem.

He netted 11 goals and provided 15 assists in 40 appearances at Zulte-Waregem last season.

That's true. They go for highest bidder. I hope he goes to Gent.

I know about Raheem Lawal but I thought his former Spanish team adviced against buying him because he played in the Africa U23 nations cup against their will.

What's my business with their former players? Are they the ones who lined up against Ngr? The fact is that they had part timers in that team against Ngr who are film makers, doctors and factory workers.
For your information, I didn't include Japanese players who have turned out for Stuttgart, Mainz, Hamburg Celtic and the likes because I don't rate those clubs as top teams. I only listed those who played for geniue football royalties.

As far as I'm concerned, Eidur Gudjohnson is the one and only great player Iceland produced bearing in mind that he won the Champions league, premiership, FA cup, LA Liga with Chelsea and Barcelona playing a pivotal role not peripheral roles for those sides.
Hahahahahaha! Stuttgart was par with Dortmund when Iceland player singlehandedly led them to win the Bundusliga and even reached the UEFA cup finals. Hahahaha!

Did those Japanese players win the Bundusliga with Mainz and Hamburg not to talk of leading them to UEFA cup finals? Hahahahahaha! grin

We are talking about players that distinguished themselves in leagues, you are talking about club. Hahahaha! grin

What did they do in those leagues or with those clubs? grin

Sorry, just say you don't know about Iceland players that led their teams to UEFA cup finals singlehandedly winning individual awards along the way.

Sadiq Umar Relishes Move To Glasgow Rangers

By Editor -
June 28, 2018

New loan arrival at Glasgow Rangers of Scotland, Sadiq Umar has expressed a relish in the deal that sees him move to his new club from AS Roma of Italy, as he says it would accord him the opportunity of getting regular playing time next season.

Though the Rio 2016 Olympics revelation had a sterling campaign on loan at NAC Breda of Holland last term, Umar believes he will have better prospects for regular game time and staying in the spotlight by lining out with The Gers.

Rangers’ new manager, Steven Gerrard has targeted Umar as his next signing, ahead of which Holland-based Scottish journalist, Peter McVitie joined Jonny McFarlane on the Record Rangers podcast to discuss the towering frontman’s potential.

Umar’s impending arrival at Ibrox is already generating fervent debate among The Gers’ faithful, as an incisive breakdown of his assets and weakness is provided by McVitie.

McVitie also revealed that there is interest in Umar from two Dutch clubs, Groningen and Vitesse Arnhem, but believes the big striker can be a hit in Scotland for Gerrard’s men.

He, however, further opined that Umar is not a striker who is great in the air despite his height and believes the lad’s first touch is also an issue, despite his undoubted talent.

Also on the podcast, Gavin Berry joins from Spain to discuss the latest at Rangers’ training camp.

Umar will become the club’s eighth capture of the window and they hope to get the deal completed before the end of their training camp in Spain.

Gerrard is looking to boost his striking options with Alfredo Morelos his only senior striker involved in the club’s trip to Spain.

Eduardo Herrera was left behind in Glasgow while Kenny Miller and Jason Cummings both left Rangers in the summer.

The 6ft 4in Umar spent the second half of last season on loan at Breda in the Dutch Eredivisie where he scored five goals in 12 games.

If he completes his move, Umar will join Scott Arfield, Allan McGregor, Jamie Murphy, Ovie Ejaria, Connor Goldson, Jon Flanagan and Nikola Katic in signing for the club this summer.

Let me remind you that Kanu and Oruma were invited to camp by Westerhof after Japan 93 although they dint make the squad as expected. Kanu at the time wasn't even at Ajax.

Mind you, Yobo was struggling to find himself in Europe early in his career until he settled as a full back at Marseille before he was invited for the world cup qualifiers against Zambia.

In Kelechi Nwakali's case, he is the captain of the Nigerian u20s who didn't qualify for the world cup unfortunately and he cannot play for his parent club due to work permit issues and over time, he has turned out for Dutch clubs on loan where Arsenal farmed him out to gain experience.

Yes, he didn't get much opportunities last season at Venlo that is why Arsenal cut his loan deal and sent him back to Maastricht to make sure he plays. If he wasn't highly thought of. I understand the head of Arsenal academy visits him at Maastricht. Even Olishe gave him lots of praise after playing against his team after which he singled him out and not because of his nationality but the quality of his game which Olishe was very particular about.

Truth is that Nwakali should be given a chance in friendlies. He should be gradually integrated into the national team with plans to have him in full charge of the midfield within the next 2- 3years, which will also coincide with a period where it is expected he will be playing at a decent level in Europe.

The young man is the most talented midfielder of Nigerian stock in western Europe.
If he was born in England, the narrative would have been different.
There should be merit in selection of players. It should not be based on past glory.

What if some players are doing better than him in his role should they be overlooked because he is Nigerian project?

If it's about Nigerian project, Emmanuel Sani, Ramon Azeez and Abdul Ajagun should be called to the national team because they were either once Captains or first and third best players in the U17 World cup.

Anyway, I am happy he went to Porto fc where I hope he gets to play and Impress.

The argument you walked into was which team was better between Iceland and Japan.
You jumped in and claimed Iceland have produced the greater players. Critically looking at the players Iceland have produced, Eidur Gudjohnson alone stands out having played for Chelsea and Barcelona.
Looking at Japan, they may not have produced any player for Barcelona but they have produced the likes of Nakata, Inamoto, Kagawa, Nagatomo, Nakamura, Honda etc who collectively have played for Arsenal, Inter Milan, Ac Milan, Dortmond and Man utd to name a few.
Suggesting Iceland have produced better players because of one man is akin to saying Liberia have produced better players than Nigeria because they have produced a Ballon dor winner. Or alluding Trinidad and Tobago have produced better players than Nigeria because Dwight Yorke is from there. Gerrit?
And you made us believed Iceland Football players are bunch of amateurs packed with salt parkers, bar attendances, film makers etc without letting us know that they have produced great professional players that have impressed in top clubs and Leagues in Europe. That is deception that must be tackled and debunked with facts.

Iceland has produced players that have played and made impression in the top leagues in Europe. They have also produced players that have played in Bayern Munich, Ac Milan, Dortmund, Stuttgart, Anderlecht (when it was one of the top clubs in Europe), Tottenham, Chelsea, Barcelona, Arsenal, Monaco, Bordeaux, Ajax, etcetera. These players were one time highest goal scorers in the Eredivise, Belgium pro league or second or top goal scorer in the Bundusliga, EPL and Ligue 1. Some even won Bundesliga midfielder of the season and made FIFA best 13th player in the world. Get your facts right.

Hence Eidur Guðjohnsen is never the greatest player that came out from Iceland. There are still some players above him. Players that are far greater than most those Japanese players up there. Fact

goldfish80:
Sorry to say, but I like being candid. There's no where in world you can convince me that Iceland is better than Japan.
Please let's turn a leaf and stop these half truths, it won't get us anywhere. Look at one of the Iceland defenders, the young man worked in a Salt packing factory prior to the world cup, their number 8 is a bar attendant, this much was revealed by a comentator during their match against Argentina, about 4 others are medical doctors. Their goalkeeper Hannes is a professional film maker. I can go on and on...

I was ashamed being a Nigerian when people were going wild with jubilation after beating these guys. Beating these guys should be routine.
Their famous results against England, Argentina and the likes is just the case of when a dog bites a man and when a man bites a dog...

Lastly, Colombia looks a better team and in better shape than Argentina in this tournament at least. Recently, Colombia defeated France in Paris, I will eagerly await the result of France Argentina to compare notes.

But if we should be sincere with ourselves no outfield player from the lower leagues of England have been considered in SE. Aina was was on the radar (thanks to Mikel) even before he was loaned to Hull. Aluko didn’t get a look in back then until Hull City was
promotes to the EPL back then. I believe we approached Ibe, not until he was in the EPL. Iwobi was an Arsenal player at least. it’s not an NFF problem, it’s the way most of us see it. Why is it hat every indegemeous coach and foreign coach of SE has hardly looked the way of English lower leagues, except in cases were
we are lacking options in a specified field position? I remember Oliseh when he became coach of SE saying no player playing in the lower league will be considered.
That’s just the consciousness. Until UEFA comes with a ranking system that also accommodates the lower leagues of Europe, it would be hard for you to argue your case, because people will also give you examples of players that came from the inferior leagues in Europe only to come to the EPL to tear the league.

In all this, I’m not saying you are wrong, but people won’t take your argument seriously, unless you are making an argument that we have to spot those talents early before thy are snapped up by England. Saying they should be invited straight to SE, I’m sorry na long thing u dey.
Aluko got a look while playing for Aberdeen and later with Rangers.

He made the 2013 AFCON list as a Hill city player in the Championship though injury knocked him out.

If you go by that logic that Iwobi was called because he is an Arsenal player then what stops us from inviting our players in Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham? The likes of Tosin Kehinde, Bashiru, Nechemi, Ojo, Solanke, Onomah, Adarabioyo, Bobby, etc are also players from this clubs. grin

” A fee has been agreed with Gent and what was left was personal terms and my agent was supposed to negotiate it on my behalf. Surprisingly he didn’t turn up. Even when Brighton came for me last season he did same thing”, the Liverpool target further reveal.

Simon has left Harris for a new management team in DW-Sports and he said he is very much at home with the way they are operating and feels no pressure or concern about his immediate future.

Ásgeir Sigurvinsson is the greatest player ever from Iceland not Gylfi Sigurðsson because he was at one time named the Bundusliga midfield player of the year and 13th best player in the world. He even scored 13 goals to help his club win the Bundusliga and later helped them to the UEFA cup finals.

Even Arnór Guðjohnsen is popular in Europe. He was once the highest goal scorer in the Belgium pro league at the time it was rated in the top 3 leagues in Europe and played in UEFA cup finals with Anderletch.

Gylfi Sigurðsson is rated behind those first two players in Iceland.

Aluko In Action As Reading Lose First Pre-Season Friendly

June 30, 2018 3:26 pm

By James Agberebi

Nigeria forward Sone Aluko was in action for Championship club Reading in their 2-1 loss to National League side (fifth-tier) Eastleigh in a pre-season friendly match on Saturday.

The game was Reading’s first pre-season friendly and is part of their preparations ahead of the 2018/2019 Championship campaign.

Paul McCallum opened scoring for Eastleigh in the 13th before Leandro Bacuna drew Reading leveled on 78 minutes.

But with four minutes left, Ben Williamson scored the winner for Eastleigh to give them the 2-1 win.

Reading next pre-season friendly game is against AFC Wimbledon next Saturday.

Not not formally No.

They are still EPL players

They are both players on loan, considering the world class players in front of them. Going on loan may be they way to go for them.

Seyi may go to Newcastle or Fulham permanently, can't see him displacing Mo Salah on the left, or do you ❓ Lol

Onomah still has a pathway but he will have to fight his way past some quality players.
Really!?

I don't think we really approached them with the mind to intergrate them in the team. Na eyes service approach just to fullil all righteousness.

Anyway, I agree they are EPL materials and potentially good enough to make mid table teams if they don't get to play for those big clubs.

Actually, Klopp really likes Ojo. He called him from loan two seasons ago and brought him to the first team where he had game time. He really impressed in in the EPL with 3 assists from 8 matches.

He even scored a goal and assisted once in 6 games he played in FA cup tournament.

The injury he suffered made him loose form and eventually saw go down to get fitness. I think he may play some part in FA cup since Liverpool are into many competitions. Salah can't play all.

Onomah could still play part in the EPL if he is loaned to a mid table or stays with Tottenham.

The game was part of Mainz’s preparation heading into the 2018/2019 German football season.

Ujah scored with five minutes remaining in the first half to make it 3-0 in favour of Mainz.

Mainz will kick off their league campaign with a home game against Stuttgart on August 25.

They ended last season in the 14th position in the 18-club Bundesliga final table last season.

Ujah failed to score a single goal after 12 appearances in all competitions following his return to German football from Chinese Super League club Liaoning in January, 2018.
