Yes January 2022. It’s for fall semester, i applied early to give it all the time.

That's really good, did thesame last year. Thank God I applied early, because mine took 7 months and dropped on the day of my fall resumption.

Thanks for sharing. Please, I want to understand the bank exchange rate that you talked about.

The official bank rate for Dollar to CAD is 1 dollar to 1.24CAD but at the airport they changed it for me at 1 dollar to 1.08CAD, I didn't have any choice because i needed to buy somethings i needed

Landing gist

Day of Travel - 30th Sept
Arrival Day - 1st Sept
Flight name - Royal Dutch Airlines (Lufthanza)
Stops - Lagos -> Amsterdam -> Ontario

I arrived at the Lagos airport at 5pm against my flight of 10:45pm, none of my bags were checked because my cousin knew some of the airport officials (note that i was carrying a lot of food stuffs), i weighed my 2 luggages which were approved. I was asked for all my travel Documents, School Documents, ArriveCAN receipt and COVID19 test result. I also had to fill one yellow card stuff with my details and submit to them. After all this brouhaha, I proceeded to my Flight gate, where i waited till my flight time.

The flight from Lagos to Amsterdam was approximately 12hrs or so (can't remember), we landed in Amsterdam where i proceeded to my next gate after series of checks from airport officials. Omoh, the Wi-Fi at this airport fast die, its free and you have Unlimited usuage.

We left for Canada after 3 hrs, omoh all their food tire me. I arrived at Canada around 12pm Canadian Time (5 hour behind Nigeria), did some checks after which we proceeded to immigration officers for our official study permits. After which we went to get our luggages (these guys manhandled alot of luggages, i could not even recognize one of my luggages after passing by it 15 times).
(This part is for unvaccinated travelers)
We proceeded for the Covid19 tests (register at Switchhealth.ca to avoid the long queue). After this, you would be handed the Day 8 home test kit. Then you're free to go to your choice of quarantine.

You can change dollars to CAD at the airport when you land, just don't change everything on you cos their rates are high compared to banks.

Note;
1) Please if you can get your Covid19 shots in Nigeria before coming over, DO IT! To avoid stress.
2) Register for your SIN immediately you get your study Permit, because you will need this number if you want to work.

Throw me with your Questions, if it's something i can handle, I'd let you know. Good luck on your PPR journey!

I posted my landing gist some time ago. You can find it if you click on my previous posts. Since you are unvaccinated, you will need to show that you have accommodation ready for quarantine and that it meets the requirements.

Alright, I will do that

The three day mandatory stopover has been scrapped. Have your quarantine plan ready and they will decide if you need to.

Thanks Stephblues, I really appreciate.

They have stopped the mandatory hotel quarantine since August 9th 2021. What you need is to have your 14 day quarantine plan in place for both vaccinated and unvaccinated flyers. If cleared as a fully vaccinated flyer, you will not need to quarantine but every unvaccinated flyer must proceed to quarantine upon landing.
You can visit the CIC page to read more. The page is fully updated with information regarding post Covid travel instructions. You can use search button to take you to informations you need to know about.

Thank you for this information, viviangogos

Can you help me out? I read earlier that you will have a mandatory hotel stop over for 3 days even if you already have your place of choice for quarantine when you land in Canada, after the 3 days you can then move on to your place of quarantine for the remaining days. How true is this? (Note: I'm talking about unvaccinated travelers)

Can anybody help me out, please? sad

Go to DHL Tracking site for Nigeria (if you used DHL as your courier service) to track it's movement to VFS and Back.

Ho To VFS Tracking site to track it when they have received your documents from the courier service.

(Just search the sites on google)

From what I have read so far, you are to have your 14 days quarantine plan until you have been cleared at the POE as fully vaccinated and not to quarantine. Read through for people that landed recently to know how they went about the quarantine plan.

Your final destination (nova scotia)

I'm not sure (correct me if I'm wrong please) but I thought you have to spend 4 days in a hotel at the point of entry as a part of quarantine, before moving to your preferred place of 10days quarantine (In his case Nova Scotia).
