PPR Dropped today! I can't Breathe! It's been a long wait and plenty ghost updates, mentally drained but it paid off. First time applicant, normal Route and no Agent. Profile; Age - 23/24 years old Highest level of Study - Microbiology Bsc.(2019 graduate) Preferred Course of Study - Computer Systems Technology (2 years + 1 year co-op) DLI - Sheridan College, Ontario My Timeline; Feb 24th - Application submitted Feb 25th - Request for Biometrics Feb 26th - Biometrics done and Updated March 1st - Background Check started May 1st - GCMS notes ordered June 29th - Eligibility started July 18th - GCMS notes dropped (eligibility section and P.A.N still blank) July 25th - First ghost update July 27th - Second ghost update July 27th - Upfront Medicals submitted July 28th - Medicals being reviewed July 31st - Medicals passed Aug 10th - Third ghost update Aug 11th - Fourth ghost update Aug 26th - Fifth ghost update Sept 3rd - Sixth ghost update Sept 7th - PPR Dropped (My classes start today sef) All Documents Submitted; 1) Application of study permit made outside Canada (imm1294e) 2) Letter of Acceptance 3) Scanned Copy of Passport Info Page 4) Proof of Funds (which includes Letter of Explanation of Funding Support, Letter of Financial Support and Affidavit from Sponsor, Scanned Copy of Sponsors ID, Sponsors 6-Months Bank Statement and Reference Letter from Bank, My First year full tuition payment Receipt) 5) My Digital Photo 6) Upfront E-Medical Information Sheet 7) Family Information (imm5645e) ![cool](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/cool.png) Evidence of Work Requirement in Study 9) Application for a TRV made outside Canada (imm5257b) 10) Client Information (which includes Letter of Explanation, Letter of Employment which was my NYSC year which ended this March, Police Clearance Certificate, Proof of English Proficiency, Online Certificates related to my preferred course of study) GOD IS GREAT! I couldn't have done it without His grace over me throughout the journey even when I lost hope on the application. I remember finding this thread 3 days after submitting my application, and I felt bad because I made alot of mistakes and didn't include alot of documents in my application, I wanted to withdraw the whole application, but after reading through the thread, I got an insight that all applications are different, any application can be approved or declined, even the ones you least expect, so I became calm and waited. Your Testimony too is neigh, just be calm. My Tips (From my Experience); 1) Apply for your study VISA at least 6 months before your School's resumption date. 2) When your Application has exceeded 3/4 months without any update, I suggest you send them mails or webforms 3 weekdays in a week between 5am-7am till you get your VISA decision (Your tone in the E-mails should be extremely polite). 3) When your Application has exceeded 3/4 months, you can try sending a mail to an MP (Member of Parliament) of where your school is located in Canada to help you out. Although not all would be willing to help (Mine wasn't). 4) After your Application, only send documents through Webforms when it is very necessary or sent for by your V.O because most times, these documents lead to major delays in your VISA decision. I hope this helps alot of people. 49 Likes 2 Shares

Bunmijab: Please has anyone recently gone for medicals at IOM
How is the queue like let me prepare myself and please what do I need to go with?
Thank you The crowd there is much, looks like a refugee center, although it's mostly UK applicants. Canada/Australia/US applicants are normally small. Go with your printed proof of payment and the page showing your appointment date and time i.e if you applied on their site. I'd advise you to come earlier probably around 7am/8am because they don't normally follow the time of appointment to avoid crowd. If you've not applied on their site, you can still go there to register manually after which they'd give you a date to come for your Medicals, it's sometimes 3 weeks from the date you registered. Hope this helps 4 Likes |

fav2deep: Is it normal for eligibility review to have started about two months ago and yet no response? Raised a thousand webform with just the generic response. Gcms notes ordered and nothing much just... This...
I dont know why the wait has to be this much and my application is since February 25 Have you done your medicals? |

Good morning all,
For those that did their Upfront Medicals after their applications have already begun processing. Did you send the 'E-Medical' information sheet to IRCC yourself via Webform or was everything handled by the Clinic without you sending anything?
Thanks. 1 Like |

Teenie19: Dear Nairaland family,
It has finally dropped ooooo! Glory be to God Almighty!!!!
Sister's application AOR: Feb 11 2021 Program: Practical nursing May 2021 (Sheridan college)- clearly can't go for May 2021 anymore due to delay, will go for Jan 2022 session! Upfront medical : April 28, 2021 ( we said let's do medical to see if it will speed things up, lol jokes) Medical passed: June 14, 2021 (just see how long it took them to update medical!) Eligibility started: July 23, 2021 PPR and correspondence letter: this morning July 27th @ 4:34am!
What a wait! Basically this application took 5 months and 16 days. I remember I considered withdrawing the application at some point, but you all encouraged me to hold on! During this waiting period, 3 gcms notes were ordered and the fourth one has been ordered as well. All the gcms notes received didn't have much info as eligibility was blank. Each time I got the gcms notes, I was always disappointed that eligibility was blank. Now that I think of it, I guess it's not a bad thing...
I just want to use this medium to thank everyone for their support through out this journey! This is a wonderful platform and we all draw strength and hope from one another! One thing that helped me during the long wait was seeing other people's approval postings. I was always encouraged by those success stories. I remember telling myself that my testimony was near when DD097 and demure got approved as we all applied around the same time and faced this delay..
In short, this is a wonderful platform and I hope more people get to know about the wonderful support we have here! Thanks to all the gurus and everyone that tries to assist others with their questions! If you have any questions for me , please feel free to ask here so others can learn from it ! I'm rooting for all my co- February applicants and any one with a delayed application and of course everyone on here , that you will all get a favourable response soon in Jesus name!
Cheers to more success stories ! ![grin](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/grin.png)

Hello Everyone, For those who did their Medicals at IOM Lagos.
Is it a must to pay physically through a Standard Chartered Bank Branch for the Medical Appointment or would a Mobile Bank transfer suffice?
There's currently no Standard Chartered Bank Branch close-by and I would be entering Lag on a weekend against my appointment on a Monday. 1 Like |

Good evening and a happy weekend to you all!
I have a question, I applied for my study permit since the 24th of February, and till now I haven't gotten the "eligibility review" update. I applied for GCMS notes 40days ago, and till now still nothing on that one. I've sent countless messages to IRCC, I only get their generic reply. What do you suggest I do? I am really tired of the whole thing.
Timeline Feb 24th: Application Feb 26th: Biometrics updated May 1st: GCMS notes application --- no NSE request at all

Help, please Frankalvinz: Good afternoon all, I've been a silent reader on this platform, and would like to thank the gurus for all they are doing so far. I have a question; what are my chances of getting my visa application approved?
I applied since February 24th, did my biometrics on February 26th and I haven't gotten any other update apart from "background check" and my "biometrics validation" for over a month now.
I am 23 years old, just finished my NYSC this March. I am a Microbiology Bsc holder and also served in a hospital. I applied for a Software Development and Network Engineering advanced diploma in a Canadian college for Fall 2021 intake and got in. My Sponsor is my Dad (a businessman), he had an approximate of N12m as his final balance in his account when I sent my MBS although he has transacted a little over N250m within the 6 months of the MBS.
I would like to know my chances, please. Thanks |

Do you have any experience in this area you applying to? And I think advanced diploma is lesser than a BSc, so you might be having issue with progression. Let other gurus in the house drop their comments I only took online classes and some practicals and got a certificate for each of the classes, but I didn't include the certificates on my SOP, because at the time, I had felt it wasn't necessary. Which I'm kinda regretting now. Thanks |
