It is better to enter a crash landed plane than to enter a crashing plane, it is better to wait for the plane to land before you enter. After the finishing assignment of the bearish season, market will settle down for a while before the bull will return. Let us not enter a crashing plane, also let us allow the bear to finish it assignment before we start again.

What if your aim is to enter the crashing plane to help guide it's crash landing grin grin grin grin

Men! You get mind o.

After dumping NEM (Still thanking my stars) months ago, I don't see myself doing insurance any time soon

I will rather buy Dangote Sugar, Access, FBNH and Diamond at car park than any promises sorry insurance coy grin grin grin grin

Oga 9free, I feel you men...me sef had NEM for a while but dumped it a couple of months ago when I started to question the company's corporate governance.

your stock picks are spot on especially in regards to the banks. I think they are the cheapest in the market presently in regards to valuation. Uba's forward PE ratio is getting close to 2.5 times earnings. With this decline, we might see it below 2 soonest.

It will be easier for Buhari to win 2015 general election than those prices to come true

It seems like we are gradually approaching the all share index low of 2009. shocked shocked shocked shocked . The stock market as a leading technical indicator seems to be telling us how challenging the economy is going to be in 2015.

I guess Insurance is where the deal is at the moment.

Dont try this at home!

Aiico is one stock that I have my eyes on in the insurance space. They just cleaned off their balance sheet and seem to be starting on a stronger clean slate. I also expect their pension arm to start adding significantly to their bottom line as their assets under management continue to increase as a result of the new pension law. I bought earlier at 80kobo but I hope to add more when the price gets to the car park grin grin grin grin

Sir, the difference between the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer lies in their risk appetite. One thing i know for sure is that don't look at the spectators, but focus on the goal post! This opportunity is just once in decades! Take for examples, seeing Oando at 16.63, Transcorp @ 2.96, FBNH, UBA, FCMB at the bargain price when some are showing a signs of bottom out...so what decision you will like such person to take? To and for me is BUYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

Oga MyJoy08. This your money no dey finish ooo. Na everytime you dey buy. When you go sell na grin grin grin

Please, which stocks have good fundamentals to buy into now that prices have fallen? Thank you

Stocks plenty Na. In fact it is a buy one, get one free sales going on in the Market now. Stocks like Fbnh,Uba,dangote sugar,Afriprud seems fairly priced. Better still you can wait a bit for the market to stabilize but if you are like me that has a long term view and likes sales period and does not Know how to time the market, you can buy in tranches.

Please do your due diligence ooo.

Pls has uba start the rights issue? how is the rights issue going? @myjoy08, how strong is uba now? and can you buy there shares if they go down like 1.50 this year?

UBA presently has a forward PE ratio of about 2.87 times earnings which seems rightly priced to me. The expected dilution Coming from their proposed rights should push their PE ratio to around 3 times earnings. With a price of N1.50, their PE ratio will be around 1 time earnings. At this price, UBA would have been dirt cheap and in my opinion this will be a give away price.

If FBNH (an indeed others) really believe their shares are selling well below book value, why can't they buy them back at ~N9 and sell back to the market (via rights/PO) after the allowable period?

It is possible they are probably using their spare cash to speculate in the FX markets, this has even been reduced further via the increment in private sector CRR by the CBN.

most of the Nigeria stock book value are manipulated one, at times, it take most of the companies time to review their book value and bring it down, but when their value rises, it never take them time to take it up. We are living in the manipulated environment. Whether the book value is high or low, for now I am out of the stock market till next year.

I am not sure I understand what the companies are manipulating. From the little I know, Book value is a function of a company's net assets and outstanding number of shares which are balance sheet items.

Hello sir,pls can u tell me the happenings in the market, i mean any opportunity showing up for now on d bourse. passwelle greetings!
i want to be a grave robber on d bourse now, thanks, keen to hear from you bck, thanks.

I think the market seems to like the outcome of the MPC meeting in view of the perceived clarity that was demonstrated by the MPC authorities.if not for anything the fact that the CBN was able to tow the line of thought of what most experts and analysts envisaged seems to have gladen the market's heart.

Having said this I think this might be short lived. I want to believe that as more investors and analysts carry out a fundamental assessment of the impact of these policies and its implication on corporate earnings, some profit taking might engulf the market in the next couple of weeks. This might just bring about fresh bargains into the market arena and might be a good time to pounce on some fundamentally sound stocks.

Looking forward to the outcome of OPEC's meeting today. It seems to me like the markets are gradually sensing that Saudi Arabia might not cut production as Brent crude is about $76 at this time. If a formal announcement is made, I expect to see further declines in crude oil prices and this might not augur well for the Naira and might lead to further declines in the stock market in the next couple of sessions.
