Aks:Not yet.Let it wait a little bit,i just got credited with some of my unclaimed dividends and i intend to use it to buy some stocks. N/B : Please this is not a recommendation to anyone to attempt to buy into this volatile market. |
Born2berich:2014/2015, The year of the prophets. ![]() |
Chibuking81:What if your aim is to enter the crashing plane to help guide it's crash landing ![]() |
lancee:Yes oo another cycle staring us right in the face. Na to accumulate dividend paying stocks, they clean mouth with dividends while we wait for recovery whenever it decides to come. |
9free:Oga 9free, I feel you men...me sef had NEM for a while but dumped it a couple of months ago when I started to question the company's corporate governance. your stock picks are spot on especially in regards to the banks. I think they are the cheapest in the market presently in regards to valuation. Uba's forward PE ratio is getting close to 2.5 times earnings. With this decline, we might see it below 2 soonest. |
9free:It seems like we are gradually approaching the all share index low of 2009. |
Born2berich:There is fire on the mountain!!!!! See prices. |
joseph1013:Aiico is one stock that I have my eyes on in the insurance space. They just cleaned off their balance sheet and seem to be starting on a stronger clean slate. I also expect their pension arm to start adding significantly to their bottom line as their assets under management continue to increase as a result of the new pension law. I bought earlier at 80kobo but I hope to add more when the price gets to the car park ![]() |
myjoy08:Oga MyJoy08. This your money no dey finish ooo. Na everytime you dey buy. When you go sell na ![]() |
9free:See Gobe!!!!! but honestly I thought we will see this low price levels by the beginning of next year. My whole spreadsheet is screaming BUY BUY BUY. |
9free:My oga, I want to start selling some personal stuffs to raise money at this junction oooo. Imagine the money that I can use to buy 2000 units of UBA not been enough for a Sunday buffet at Radisson Blu. In fact Na stocks I go use do Xmas present to myself. |
What am I seeing!!!!!The all share index has finally broken the 30,000 mark |
iyaayi:Stocks plenty Na. In fact it is a buy one, get one free sales going on in the Market now. Stocks like Fbnh,Uba,dangote sugar,Afriprud seems fairly priced. Better still you can wait a bit for the market to stabilize but if you are like me that has a long term view and likes sales period and does not Know how to time the market, you can buy in tranches. Please do your due diligence ooo. |
cadno:Maybe oga Nkpokiti from SMN is accumulating ![]() |
“If you don’t know who you are, the stock market is an expensive place to find out.”
|
ihedioramma:UBA presently has a forward PE ratio of about 2.87 times earnings which seems rightly priced to me. The expected dilution Coming from their proposed rights should push their PE ratio to around 3 times earnings. With a price of N1.50, their PE ratio will be around 1 time earnings. At this price, UBA would have been dirt cheap and in my opinion this will be a give away price. |
Tough times for Russia. I hope the naira does not face a similar fate come 2015 as this oil price decline does not look like it is abating soon. http://mobile.bloomberg.com/news/2014-12-11/russia-raises-rates-to-end-ruble-run-as-rout-ravages-economy-1-.html |
mpi210:Yes boss. As NSE has decided to do some pre-Xmas sales, who am I to argue with them. I will participate in this one and the other one that will happen during Xmas and new year. ![]() |
FranklinRich:Bargain hunting/ cherry picking mode activated. . |

PETERiCHY:Oga, by Gods grace we all will be here come June 2015, Stanbic will not sell at N10...Or you wan bet? ![]() |
PETERiCHY:I laff in Swahili... so you think Stanbic will sell at N10? Ok ooo we are watching. |
bigjay01:It is possible they are probably using their spare cash to speculate in the FX markets, this has even been reduced further via the increment in private sector CRR by the CBN. |
Did I just see FBNH @ N8.99? The Bears on rampage on this one. |
Chibuking81:I am not sure I understand what the companies are manipulating. From the little I know, Book value is a function of a company's net assets and outstanding number of shares which are balance sheet items. |
feelamong:Cornered some little units today @9.20. Cyber week stock sales seems to be working out as envisaged. Will see if I can get some more deals tomoro. |
myjoy08:Confirmation bias. |
Agbalowomeri: ![]() |
immanuello:I think the market seems to like the outcome of the MPC meeting in view of the perceived clarity that was demonstrated by the MPC authorities.if not for anything the fact that the CBN was able to tow the line of thought of what most experts and analysts envisaged seems to have gladen the market's heart. Having said this I think this might be short lived. I want to believe that as more investors and analysts carry out a fundamental assessment of the impact of these policies and its implication on corporate earnings, some profit taking might engulf the market in the next couple of weeks. This might just bring about fresh bargains into the market arena and might be a good time to pounce on some fundamentally sound stocks. |
Looking forward to the outcome of OPEC's meeting today. It seems to me like the markets are gradually sensing that Saudi Arabia might not cut production as Brent crude is about $76 at this time. If a formal announcement is made, I expect to see further declines in crude oil prices and this might not augur well for the Naira and might lead to further declines in the stock market in the next couple of sessions. |
kotlass:I came out with my cutlass today, thinking I will get some stocks doing Pre Black Friday sales but did not find anything. I will need to try again on Black Friday, if not I will continue my search on cyber Monday. |

so you think Stanbic will sell at N10? Ok ooo we are watching.
