9free: Oga 9free, I feel you men...me sef had NEM for a while but dumped it a couple of months ago when I started to question the company's corporate governance. your stock picks are spot on especially in regards to the banks. I think they are the cheapest in the market presently in regards to valuation. Uba's forward PE ratio is getting close to 2.5 times earnings. With this decline, we might see it below 2 soonest. |

joseph1013: Aiico is one stock that I have my eyes on in the insurance space. They just cleaned off their balance sheet and seem to be starting on a stronger clean slate. I also expect their pension arm to start adding significantly to their bottom line as their assets under management continue to increase as a result of the new pension law. I bought earlier at 80kobo but I hope to add more when the price gets to the car park |

iyaayi: Stocks plenty Na. In fact it is a buy one, get one free sales going on in the Market now. Stocks like Fbnh,Uba,dangote sugar,Afriprud seems fairly priced. Better still you can wait a bit for the market to stabilize but if you are like me that has a long term view and likes sales period and does not Know how to time the market, you can buy in tranches. Please do your due diligence ooo. 6 Likes |

ihedioramma: UBA presently has a forward PE ratio of about 2.87 times earnings which seems rightly priced to me. The expected dilution Coming from their proposed rights should push their PE ratio to around 3 times earnings. With a price of N1.50, their PE ratio will be around 1 time earnings. At this price, UBA would have been dirt cheap and in my opinion this will be a give away price. 1 Like |

Tough times for Russia. I hope the naira does not face a similar fate come 2015 as this oil price decline does not look like it is abating soon. http://mobile.bloomberg.com/news/2014-12-11/russia-raises-rates-to-end-ruble-run-as-rout-ravages-economy-1-.html |

immanuello: I think the market seems to like the outcome of the MPC meeting in view of the perceived clarity that was demonstrated by the MPC authorities.if not for anything the fact that the CBN was able to tow the line of thought of what most experts and analysts envisaged seems to have gladen the market's heart. Having said this I think this might be short lived. I want to believe that as more investors and analysts carry out a fundamental assessment of the impact of these policies and its implication on corporate earnings, some profit taking might engulf the market in the next couple of weeks. This might just bring about fresh bargains into the market arena and might be a good time to pounce on some fundamentally sound stocks. 1 Like |

Looking forward to the outcome of OPEC's meeting today. It seems to me like the markets are gradually sensing that Saudi Arabia might not cut production as Brent crude is about $76 at this time. If a formal announcement is made, I expect to see further declines in crude oil prices and this might not augur well for the Naira and might lead to further declines in the stock market in the next couple of sessions. 1 Like |
