Sir, all these companies listed in our NSE bourse have one or two baggage that are undefended. The major things is for one to align very close at the top so as not to be left behind. That is, to make MONEY. No stories grin

well said boss. Whoever listens to all those predictions listens at their own peril. It's pure comedy to me that someone will give me a particular month to invest my money.

You see UBA selling at N3, a price that is close to its 52 week low with P/E ratio of about 2 times forward earnings and interim dividend yield of 6% and someone is telling me that I should not invest now, I should wait for November. That statement must be the greatest joke of the year.

TRUTH is bitter but it sets people FREE.

If UBA can descend from the height of N56 in 2007 down to N1:60k in 2012 then why do you think it won't repeat such cycle.

if somebody have told you yesterday that the market will be losing over 3% today will you agree?

So Somebody got to set emotions aside and grasp with the reality of this most organised gambling business called STOCK MARKET, where IMPOSSIBILITY IS NOTHING.

The question is did you know that the market will lose 3% today? Did anyone expect the news from JP Morgan yesterday. This news would have come in at any time and you never know what the reaction of investors will be.

You state figures and dates like you own the market. Give me a break men. You are beginning to sound like a broken record...Oga Peterichy, you can sell and leave people alone. Everyone has heard what you said, the market is on the verge of collapsing!!! Thanks for your advise

Kai!!! Una funny no be small. The prophecies here are intriguing.

If I remember clearly, when UBA was going up, we heard all manner of price quotes that it was going to meet zenith's price and it will hit N10 in 12 months time. Now that the market is falling, suddenly UBA's price is going to N1.60 or Na N2 sef grin grin grin Na wa really!!!!!

It is a market crash just like 2007/2008. I advise that we wait before buying any stock now( although some people wont listen).

Well I think some stocks are overvalued and others are undervalued or rather they will get undervalued as their prices continue to decline.

Afriprud for one is almost touching N2, this is a stock that it's interim dividend yield was more than most blue chip full year dividend yield. I see no reason why I should not buy it at around N2, knowing that at this price, i can still get a full year dividend yield of close to 10%. Add that to its interim dividend and that adds to some okay returns. Capital appreciation might not come now but in the fullness of time, it will.

Hehehehe till then sha. Unfortunately I dnt know how to time the market like the gurus in the house.

I enter stocks at prices that seem fair to me when I do my valuation; sometimes I am wrong and other times I am right but one thing I know is that in 12 months time, I will look back and say I made the best choice.

My bnsitl, I heard a just that has been making my head swirl since sat.
A friend's sis n husband bought 2 plots of land in abuja abt 6 years ago for less than 1milla.
2 years ago, they sold each for 15 mills , making it 30 mills for both. The sis hubby added ten mills to the 30 mills making it 40 mills and bought a house in a better location. 2 years later, another family friend wants to get a property in the same location and d least is 128 mills.

I recall oga Mamie has had similar testimony with ibeju lekki area in Lagos.

Lagos, abj, pH , here I come.

It's a buyer's market out there for real estate right now just like what we are seeing in the stock market, so this might be a good period for you to get some good deals.

Access @2.00
Oando @ 6.00

Thank GOD i left Oando ontime

Access at N2 will have a forward P/E of about 1 time earnings after factoring in their rights issue that will listed later in the year. I honestly don't see how this would happen even though Mr Market has the final say. I am no prophet but most of the bank stock prices are close to their bottom. I dnt really see a more than 20% downside from their current prices.

Help me thank God. I finally empty all my portfolio @ 2.5% loss. I will re-enter wen d market show sign of a bull.

My entry target are as follows if God will allow me
FBNH @ #4.5
Zenith @ #11
Access @ #3.5
Oando @ #8.5
Ubcap @ #0.9
GTB @ #13
Skye @ #1
My ogas in d aose, wat r ur views on dis entry prices

Na when prices don fall finish Na em you wan dey quote your prices.

In my opinion, the harm has already been done, so anyone entering Fbnh, zenith and access at these price levels will experience less downside than people that entered weeks back. Worst case the prices will just keep oscillating around this price level.

Fast moving consumer companies stock prices are the ones that even really need to come down if you ask me. Their valuations are just not as attractive as the banks and their results have been anything but exciting.

Your question wasn't directed at moi but permit me to chip in.
I think weeks back was the best time for us all to do a sanity check, now is the next best time. As an analogy:

I wanted Access at N6 and got some, thinking I got a good bargain. Alas, it crashed to N5.77, so I thought I would buy more if it get to N5.30. It did and I plunged in again. Unfortunately, the journey downwards still continued. Access is seen at N4.47 now.
At what point do I stop, wait and observe? Must I spend what I have now in the market? What stops me from waiting till the market direction reverses and Access starts to trend upwards with the necessary accompany volumes, bids and news? The market is a cycle. Learn about this cycle.

Let's say it gets to N4.30, reverses and gradually starts to head upwards. It is much better to jump in at N4.50 then, a price you would have considered a great bargain on the downward descent. Note that, this applies in a bull market. For now, market is still bearish. A reversal seen now is just for pigs to get slaughtered. That game is exclusively for the experts. The Transcorp party just ended. Keep your guns loaded and watch. Even if you are for long term.....wait, you might not have to do that for long.

@Myjoy; Analyst have BUY, HOLD, ACCUMULATE and SELL. Do you use the others too? You placed a BUY on Access, Unity etc when they were still selling at a premium to current selling price. Yet you are still placing BUY BUY BUY cheesy cheesy Oando, UBA, Access, Skye and now FCMB are on my radar but I have stopped buying. Don't try to live up to the reputation of " an encourager". It doesn't make sense to me again. It's like someone engaging in an activity that is causing pain because the environment is not safe but you keep encouraging the fellow to go for it. When he is wounded, you comfort him, apply some balm and tell him to go go go go.....You have good intentions, no doubt but you self chill small.

For anyone that dared to venture into this business, I am almost certain everyone is smart and intelligent. Let's live up to that reputation now. I do not expect everyone to agree but I gotta make this point anyways. tongue

No be small thing, myjoy is always buying. In fact I remember asking him if his money doesn't finish cos during bull he is buying, during bear he is still buying. When people are taking profit myjoy is still buying. Na wa ooo. Myjoy have you ever sold anything in this market grin grin grin

http://businessdayonline.com/2015/08/naira-weakens-on-parallel-market-as-dollar-demand-rises/#.VcC-9_NVhHw

The naira reversed its gains against the dollar on the parallel market on Tuesday on increased demand for the U.S. currency from some importers, traders said.
The local currency was trading at 224 to the dollar on Tuesday, weaker than 216 the previous day. It was quoted at 240 a week ago.

Chai...always good to use any opportunity while it lasts. grin grin

The appreciation we saw for the last few days was more like a knee jerk reaction to the CBNs capital control of closing the travelex window that assists banks convert their FCY cash to wired/electronic form. Due to the insurance risk associated with holding the $$ cash in the banks vaults and the low economic value associated with holding $$ in cash, the banks decided to stop accepting $$ in cash.

Knowing how ingenious and entrepreneurial, Nigerians are, I know that some people have started figuring out how to take this $$ cash over the boarders to convert into electronic forms for onward wiring to various accounts. Once this is successfully achieved, Nigerian banks might not need the CBNs help with travelex and ala business continues for them. Curious to see what else the CBN has up its sleeves.

Interesting times ahead!!!

If FBN continues to attach bonus to the paltry dividends, it may be a good reason for investors to run away. How can you expect them to give more bonuses, join dis one wey dem dey now? grin

Dnt mind Fbnh, anytime I think of Fbnh it reminds me of Nigeria, their subsequent years of mismanagement is gradually catching up with them. Such a great company with potentials continues to get things wrong and make mistakes after mistakes. Their ROE and ROA is nothing to write home about. They just keep eroding the shareholder value of their shareholders.

I have no clue what due diligence Fbnh's risk management team did to approve the lending of $400m to Atlantic Energy, a company that had no history in the oil and gas industry expect for its affiliation to its promoters; kola aluko And Omokare. These guys are known to be lavish spenders in the oil and gas circles and how did Fbnh think they were the right people to loan money to. It is clear that their relationship to Dieziani was what pushed Fbnh to loan these funds out. After what happened to the seawulf loan and others, Fbnh would have been more careful. These and other loans are a big drag on their oil and gas loan book.

I truly hope they start getting things right like the GTBs and Zeniths instead of living in this self proclaimed la la land as the big elephant.
