Moneysage: @FranklinRich: It's interesting watching investors' sentiments in HD. You learn a lot about life, not excluding the futility of predictions. Hope you're currently devouring another "Buffeted" piece.
@Toluway: mercylicious has said it all. But, hey, the new Toluway seems different from the one I used to know. Did someone hack into your account or is it an effect of the prolonged market slump? Moneysage, I must say I have been amazed by the quantum of predictions been presented here with no regard to any form of fundamental/technical analysis. Well the market always has the final say and it sure knows how to humble us when we least expect it. I have not read any Buffet piece in a while but should pick u something soon. Hope you too are enjoying the present euphoria in the market? The stocks I bought during the bearish season are doing me proud and I am going into my accumulation phase in the next couple of weeks. |

Moneysage: It is worthy, at this moment of investors' adrenaline surge, to recall how fallible prophecies are. Recently, a certain pRoPhEt chibok foresaw fire and brimstone regarding Nigeria's 2015 and hinged his investment decisions on it. He continued to dissuade many people from investing based his suspicions. When his predictions failed, he disappeared into thin air...maybe started accumulating stocks in secret. (only to return later for unsolicited posts on profits he had made)
About 9-11 months ago, Oxygen was the rave of the moment on this thread. With people saying "Oando will get to N35; see you at N100 etc" People even used hastags #teamtranscorpoando. I remember those days if intense emotions. Yet, we know where the stocks are today. And another season of forward looking statements and emotional outpouring from investors of Oxygen has started again.
@megainvest (and all traders with sound reasoning): This post is not to disparage you or trample on your right of opinion. It is to remind us that some posts are better kept to ourselves, and not shared in public space. In the long run, the market doesn't care about the feelings, wishes, impressions or projections of any investor and many future-looking posts don't often help any sound investor. They only generate emotional stress and arguments among investors.
Saying FBNH will get to whatever price on Tuesday because of the recent trading on it can only be laughable. Why Tuesday? Why not Monday or Friday?

With the turn of events in the political arena and the unexpected bull which has been raging in the NSE for some days now, it is clear that a certain prophet's advice did not come to past. This prophet has already gotten the wrath of some members of this forum who followed the prophet's advice and might not have keyed into the present bull.
As a noble statesman of the NSE and in Gowon's voice I would like to say "no victor;no vanquished" to all the prophets and distinguished members of this great forum. More opportunities abound in this great market and like my ogas will say we are all making money this year. Long live Nigeria, long live NSE and long live the members of NSEMPA |

Kagame: I wish Transcorp would come down to N1. I would gladly buy as much as possible.
Ive been waiting for FBNH @ N5 since last year. Yes ooo. After the news on Saturday, I reviewed my entry prices downwards immediately |

Kagame: @Franklinrich
You are correct.
Currently, the bid-ask spread for the USD/NGN at the interbank market is N5+.
Investors who wanted to see out the elections are not comfortable with the recent uncertainty caused by the postponement, so they are making hay while the sun shines. Also note that wealthy Nigerians are not left out in this scramble for the exit door. There is this unfounded fear that elections might not hold so its a flight to safety before anarchy becomes the order of the day.
As for the NSE,I dont know if we would see much volatility in the coming days, as equities are already battered and are trading at the lowest of lows, despite the slight recovery in crude oil prices. Yes boss .Me thinks the NSE will test more lower lows in the coming weeks. Make I go join oga 9free for that mountain, hopefully we go see transcorp buy at that em price target. |

WTI crude hovering around $48 after losing close to 8% today.
Seems like we are going to see a U-shaped recovery for brent crude/WTI and a lot of range bound oscillation around the $40-$50 price range.

chillykelly86: I hardly make statements that suggest I am trying to manipulate investors. But in this period, I must note that the macroeconomic uncertainties have been more that compensated for. And sincerely, I don't believe Nigeria will break on account of the election. This is a period of positioning for me; in 3 months time, some people will look back at these times with smiles while others with regrets. Gbam!!!! |

Chibuking81: what work for Warren Buffet may not work for you and what work for you may not work for Buffet. NIGERIA is filled up with manipulation. Stock market is on fire. I am not warren buffet and I do not intend to be him, all I saying is that most times being a contrarian can set you apart from the crowd. We all know these are turbulent times in the market but as an astute investor you can pick fundamentally sound stocks when the market prices them down, provided you have a long term view. I just got some more FCMB at N1.98 after buying my first tranche @ N2.01. I have done my risk analysis and this price range suits my overall buying strategy. |

That's why its always advised to buy the same stock in bits - Dollar ( or naira ) cost averaging technique. The market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent. |
