natruetalk: Gbam! true talk bro.

and coming with 10 naira is real monkey hunting to me lipsrsealed d cowboy realy eyeing next forbes list grin
I have always told people that Uncle Tony will soon debut on the Forbes list. He presently has major shareholdings in 4 coys listed on the NSE (Uba,Ubacap,Afriprud, transcorp) and now Transcorp Hotels. I expect him to spin off the power coy and energy coy and get it listed separately once the euphoria that will surround power coys will gain momentum in the next couple of years. This euphoria might just lead to the next bubble... grin grin

immanuello: I don't see useless Skype getting that still.. This shoul go to fidelity but anything can still happen though fidelity bank is a bank that is very progressive, well runed and well capitalized and technically sound unlike the vulnerable bank (skyeb)
Wetin skye bank do you?? grin grin well i own some units of skye bank and I am probably losing like 10% already but that doesn't qualify the bank as a useless bank. They might have some challenges which is evident in its declining ROE but I do not think this will kill the bank. I know there might be better bargains out there but skye bank's price is definitely not the worst out there. Wetin i know sefhuh

Personally I am going underweight on some stocks in my portfolio. I used to have an allocation mix of 70% - stock ,20% - real estate and 10% - cash, I am working to achieve an allocation mix of 40% - stock , 40% - real estate and 20% - cash going into the 4th quarter. grin grin grin

carpenter: @Insurance stocks

Most of them seem to be dancing close to 50k. I wonder how that sector works. Mansard seems a little to expensive at the moment but that is about the only insurance stock am willing to buy.
I would advise you take a look at Custodian and Allied. Seems like a better pick than mansard. hey just my 2cents thoughts, kindly do your due diligence.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by FranklinRich: 2:16pm On Sep 27, 2014
carpenter: Godspeed then! Might pick a few of the 50k ones later, no place to go but up except they fold up shasmiley
You might want to be careful with this phrase. The fact that an insurance stock is selling at 50kobo does not make it a good stock. I have had linkage insurance, guinea insurance and others for the past 6 years and i cannot remember the last time they left 50kobo. I have attempted numerous times to sell also but no buyers. So even though it does not look like i have lost money because i bought them at 50kobo, in reality i have lost some money when you look at the opportunity cost of holding these stocks vis-a-vis holding an insurance stock like custodian and allied.

disclosure:I might be biased towards custodian and allied cos I have it in my portfolio.

Dfash: Please gurus in d house ........ I want to seek ur advice on Skye bank stock @ d current price ? Is it a good buy ? Waiting ur helpful suggestions.
Well even though some peeps are underweight on banking stocks at this time, I personally think that skye bank at this price is not a bad buy.I have been accumulating it in tranches and I am hopeful that i might get a 9-12% dividend yield on the stock come next year.

Born2berich: Exactly..

This is just mind games to keep the oxygen faithfuls continuously brainwashed.

Thats why they have to give an interim dividend to keep their followers glued to their seats.
I love what oando does. It has a way of always bringing out the emotions of investors..

well if their H1 result is truly what it is, then there just might be some light at the end of he tunnel, only time will tell

Agbalowomeri: When Oando moves, the whole market shakes. Ready for the bulls
Oando Oando Oando...this is what i like most about this annoucement..it might give us a week of the bulls.hopefully it touches some of my stocks that i intend to go underweight on!!!!
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by FranklinRich: 9:27pm On Sep 03, 2014
jideflash: oando ooooooooooooo, give us our result na. or atleast a comforting statement to save us from high bp. haba cry
U still dey wait for Oando result? You might just be on a very loooooong thing. I own this stock but i do not even bother with whatever their management says. Their future prospects and not what the management says is what excites me and thats why i pitched my tent with them.

In between, there are some good stocks out there that is beginning to catch my attention. I know some people do not like the banks presently but skye bank selling at about N2.80 looks attractive to me. I want to believe that i can get 10% to 15% dividend yield at this price come next year. Also dangote sugar's price seems to be falling too but i have no plan to enter it now. Any price around N6 will draw my attention to it. still waiting for afriprud to come down but it is acting stubborn, i might just start buying in tranches.

mkwayisi: Is there anyone who took action in connection with the above quoted post, which was posted exactly a week ago? If someone had, the person would be laughing 32.12% louder today. Still, any takers this week? (Don't forget, however, that the day of calamity is fast approaching.)
You will only be laughing if you are able to sell the stock after it has gained. We have seen such bull traps in the market in the past and i cannot be moved by this.

Born2berich: E bi like say na the same pastor we dey use. The pastor talk say the business were i see one man wer im head dey shine come wear glass say make i dey very kiaful or else dey go use hypertension finish me. Definitely na oando im dey talk about. grin
Honestly I was not expecting any results from Oando today, I also do not expect anything fantastic from them soonest either.

I have some units of Oando and will be loading up more if negative sentiments takes over the stock whenever they release a bad result. I learnt a long time ago to ignore all Oando's present shenanigans and focus on their future prospects.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by FranklinRich: 1:00pm On Jul 31, 2014
Born2berich: Of course na..Why do you think transcorp is also falling?

People are offloading their other holdings to enter into the oando bus. smiley

#jokeoftheyear
Let them keep offloading,I wish they sell down the stocks i have on my radar so that I can peacefully enter and wait for them to come and rebuy next year.

Moneysage: Welcome back, Sir. I almost thought of placing a "Wanted" tag on your moniker yesterday. cheesy Never knew u are also in this Oxygen tank.

Have u completed the reading of that book? Pls, avail me of the golden pearls you discovered. (A PM would do but be reminded NSEMPA may be discontent).

Skyebank. OK. WHAT OTHER STOCKS DO U SE FOR NOW. SHOULD I ALSO BUY SKYEBANK? WHAT DO U THINK OF OANDO AND gtb. Thanks my bro. jah bles
Thanks Oga Moneysage. Yes oo I dey inside Oando. I had the intention of increasing my stake last week but i was out of town with limited access to the internet so I did not get any information in regards to the market (including stock prices)all through last week.

I also have my radar on the UBA babies (Ubacap and Afriprudential) should in case their prices come lower. Once Ubacap goes below N2, it starts to become attractive to me and for Afriprudential, any price between N3 to N3.10 will ignite my interest.

As for skyebank, even though I am tempted to wait for their Q2 results before i accumulate more, i have decided to start accumulating in tranches as money comes in. I bought some few units yesterday and will probably buy some next week. I was able to get few units of Oando yesterday too, their long term prospects seems very attractive to me. As for GTB, I have not looked into it recently. I have always had it in my portfolio and even though its a good bank its present price does not look too attractive to me. FBNH seems more attractive to me at current price levels than GTB.

Born2berich: Congratulations to all the oando shareholders..I will be waiting in front at my new bus stop to highjack this bus again..

#jokeoftheyear

Searching for the next good stock..#Skyebank on my radar....I envisage an attractive dividend yield (10% and above) come next year...Wetin I know sefhuh?
