In a dual channel setup, mixing RAM modules of different sizes and capacities is generally a bad idea. The memory controller would have to default to the speed of the lesser module.

Remove the 8gb RAM module, and replace it with a 4GB module, or remove the 4GB RAM module, and replace it with 8GB RAM module.You would be better served IMHO by the matched pair. Dual channel only works if the RAM modules are equally sized. This way you can apportion video memory values and not damage your CPU in the process.

To answer your last question, yes, the process can be reverted to default.

Thanks for your response. Please what if I decide to leave only the 8gb on the system and remove the 4gb completely (since I don't have another cash to get new one), hope no side effects?

There are ways you can trick a game programme into thinking your system has the required VRAM needed to run it.

It's possible to increase your video memory from 0 to 512mb and 1GB, depending on the volume of your RAM.

It's a simple hack.

• Hold windows key and R button to open up a Run box, then type regedit and hit Enter to open Registry Editor.
• Once you're inside "Registry Editor", follow this path... HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Intel.
• Right click on the Intel key and choose New, and under new, choose Key, and rename it GMM.
• With the GMM key selected, move over to the right pane and select New, under New, select DWord (32bit), or QWord (64bit) value, and name it DedicatedSegmentSize.
• Double click on DedicatedSegmentSize, set the base to Hexadecimal, and input 512 if your RAM is 4GB, or 1020 if your RAM is 8GB.
• Save the changes and restart your computer.
• After the restart, go to Graphics properties and check if the changes have been successfully enforced.

One last question : If a system has 4gb ram plus additional 8gb, what will I input?

Might this affect the processor later on?

You're using an integrated graphics card. It means your GPU cannot run memory intensive games like FIFA 2018 as it has no dedicated VRAM needed to run such games.

If your system RAM configuration is a dual channel, you can boost the processing power of your GPU and gain a significant FPS in the process, by installing another stick of 4GB ddr3 RAM in the empty RAM slot beside the preinstalled 4GB ddr3 RAM.

That's a sign of a failed OS load.

Possible solutions:

1. Get the recovery/Operating system CD that came with the laptop and use it for repair. (This is given that you bought it new). Yet some new laptops don't come with that.

2. Get a bootable USB/CD to repair

3. Re install window if all fails.

Knowledge is power. Most of you only read to criticize. Chinese ROM is for devices that are made for Chinese only. People buy it cuz it's cheaper than Global versions. After launch in Nigeria, Nigerians now enjoy Global version of Xiaomi devices at cheap pricing like their Chinese counterpart.

My ish with your statement is about Xiaomi being dependent on 3rd party apps! The last time I checked, no apps is being depended on. Only 3rd party that Xiaomi users talk about is GCam, which is dependent on interested users.

This is my 4th Xiaomi device and I've never had course to depend on any 3rd party app and neither are those close to me using the brand; Xiaomi is full of useful embedded apps that I believe some other brand users will naturally have to depend on 3rd party apps to enjoy.

Terrible lie. Depends on the level of the phone you are talking about. Compare there soc, build and prices then you will find out infinix is more expensive. How much is infinix zero 6? Over 100k for snapdragon 636 then how much is redmi 7,nokia 6.1 plus, and other phones using similar or higher soc. Now compare there helio a22 devices and other brands helio a22. I don't blame transsion but my government for allowing low grade phone for high prices to sell. My question is why will they launch higher spec for cheaper rates outside Africa but lower spec for higher price in Africa. Some Africa countries are now getting smart but not Nigeria because marketers want to cheat the unaware citizens.
