What are they doing with 4M @ registry? undecided

Shame dey catch me for this man walahi. Before I got a good job, I had an offer from a single parent based overseas to come and become her husband. Since the love wasn't there, I not only declined (for I know the kind of family I'm from, we don't scrounge off women, we elevate them) but also advised her on the need to be cautious of guys who would fleece her dry!

I think societal values have been greatly eroded! embarassed

My bet is on the life vest not worn properly. It actually chokes you in the event of a boat capsize if worn loosely. I think the people running the local boat transport needs be sensitized on the need to wear the life vest firmly and appropriately.

Capital punishment for any confirmed robber that is caught. We can barely take care of the upright citizens, we've got no business rehabilitating and re integrating criminals into the society.

@topic: the friend did wrong but the donor is equally at fault. I know he might have been in dire straits as per finance but selling your kidney?.... undecided

@ all, avoid being a donor except for a well trusted family member or friend. There's been cases where more than what was agreed was removed.

Nope, concern and fight do not mean the same thing in my dictionary. The tone of your post however implies that you'll bring down hail and brimstone on your spouse's head, if she dares name your child after a deceased ex's name.

The tone of my message suggest nothing close to all youve been insinuating! Apparently not everyone who can construct an error free sentence knows how to comprehend! Nothing in my response implies violence, kindly look up the meaning of grouse and educate me.

EfemenaXY:
~ Your child sharing the same as that of a dead ex becomes suspect of what? A crime? If yes, what's the crime?
~ What "role" are fond memories of a dead ex playing? And in what sort of thing? Is it a crime to have fond memories of a person she dated before meeting you? So what are those fond memories a guilty suspect of? That she's cheating on you? Sleeping with the deceased ex?

You ask if it is a crime. I never said it is, I only mentioned it would bring about cause for concern. You also would like to know if its a crime to have memories of an ex, pls go back to my post where I mentioned, I don't have a problem with that but I do have a problem with her naming my first son after her ex.

Since you can't quote me without interjections completely unrelated to my post, I would like to say adios.

My sincere response is that I'd be more concerned with the meaning of the name (and the sound of it too. It must sound pleasant to my ears), and not who bore the before my kid, much less a deceased person.
Re the bolded: Are you serious? grin
So not only would you as a man fight a deceased person, but you'll also fight a deceased ex's memory?? grin grin
What won't one read on nairaland again?? Una get time sha. A lot of time on your hands... cheesy cheesy cheesy

Concerned and fight must mean same thing in your dictionary!

At no point did I mention taking up any issue with the deceased. My grouse is with my wife.

The unabashed manner in which you've stuck to your fickle points also make me laugh albeit, sardonically!

It's got nothing to do with whether the person complaining is a guy or not. Okay, let's put this in perspective...
Most guys sleep with tens if not more (maybe hundreds?) of women before they settle down. Do all of these women not become ex's once he's married?
So based on what you're saying, when choosing a name for a child with his wife, he has to go dreg up the past, cross check the names of all of his exes and ensure that none of his kids bear those women's names? Is this what you're advocating? How reasonable is this?

The call name for a child is quite important and symbolic. A lot of people name a child after a cherished one, like a late grandpa/grandma or a cherished friend.

In this case a cherished late ex! undecided

Be sincere to yourself, if you discover that your first child (a female) was named after ur hubby's ex whatever that has passed on, you would really take it with a pinch of salt

Of-course circumstances occur whereby the wife might not have had the particular ex in mind, although that kinda co-incidence becomes suspect when you factor in the role fond memories can play in this kind of thing.

More often than not its a way of keeping fond memories.

That shit looks real. I remember an incident when he slapped a girl on tv and some human right group started an online petition against him to be barred from the UK.

bestestgirl: Airlines alert?? Does he even use airlines? Isn't he the one with several private jets?
Not my biz anyway

If he has been barred, he has been barred! No amount of private jet is gonna change that, abi nor be bristol him plane go land? Even if he lands on a private airfield, he'll be arrested the moment he shows his face on the streets!

TV01:
Men hey? Why the upset?
Just because everytime he calls his sons name he is reminded of the man that first shined, polished and buffed his wife's congo, the one who popped her cherry. The one who pillaged and plundered her virgin territory. Who plucked it like a guitar, flipped it up, turned it over, positioned it and turned it around. The striker who worked his way into her box and scored. Repeatedly! Header, back-heel, nutmeg and volley. The tap-in, long range thunderbolt, half-volley and penalty strike.
A permanent reminder of another player - who may have been better. Someone he'll suspect he's "substitute too" and not a "replacement for".
And he can't actually do anything to prove otherwise - this guy is immortalised and a legend - as his wife will always have this romanticised ideal of loffaboy in her head.
Such treachery - that's why he's refusing to play! Name change, transfer or substitution grin.

EfemenaXY:
Absolutely irrelevant.
What's important is the meaning of the name and not who bore it before.
Is that name unique to the deceased only, and no one else in the world?

Of course its always irrelevant when its a guy complaining.

How can you name your first son in the memory of a late lover? Obviously, she's yet to let go of his memories, which I don't have a problem with. But naming her child after him undecided

Na wah oooh!

As per maturity, U can't compare his first hit track pre YBNL days with what he currently spits!

There's been a step change, that is positive progression to what currently obtains. In same light, he'll be expected to churn out something that cuts across all age bracket in order to be acclaimed as an over-all artiste. . . my opinion!

I wasn't expecting him to be able to come up with anything remotely good, particularly after he dropped two smashing albums in quick succession but he did come through. The guy's obviously talented no doubt and still maturing.

He came to limelight doing his gangster ish, now he needs to blend it with a mellow tune, something more matured!
