No leakages but my coolant keeps shorting.
Mechanic said it's leakage and changed and tightened some hose clips.
But it is still the same thing. After driving for about 20km I must top coolant.

First find mechanic wey fit do pressure test.

Coolant àbí water? If na coolant and your mech look properly, he go see where ẹ dey leak from. Streaks go dey.

Your car dey "steam"? Gasket ẹ haf go

Ẹ fit be Water pump, radiator cover àbí heater core. Make dem check wella.

Nigerian used. Engine is in excellent condition. Only major maintenance i had to do was radiation tank replacement as the old one was leaking and gasket replacement as it got damaged during replacement of the radiator tank
So mobil 1 5w 30 it is?
Any cheaper and reliable alternative please?

Check ENYO, AP or Eterna Filling stations for Shell oils

Check your dipstick, the correct oil is written on it. Same with the power steering too, check the reservoir cap

I just bought a Honda Accord 2009, everything seems fine, but I noticed the oil life was at 50% when I bought it, the oil life dropped to 40 within a few days of driving.

I drove from Abuja to Akure from 40%, it dropped to 15 on that single trip. I decided to change the oil, I used Total quarts 7000. I drove the car for two weeks after the oil change, the oil life dropped to 80%.

Is the car tokunbo or Nigerian used? What is the current mileage?

If na tokunbo recommended oil is 5W-20, not 10W-40.

If it's naija used, be sure what the previous owner has been using to know if you're switching to 5w-20 or not.

Oil life is determined by an algorithm, under certain driving conditions (high temperatures, short trips, frequent starts & stops) your oil life will degrade faster than under normal conditions.

If you're concerned about it being accurate or not, stick to a fixed maintenance schedule. If na 3000 miles àbí na 5000 miles you go dey do before oil change. When the percentage go down and e never reach, reset am grin

Your mechanic has likely tuned your cooling system to naija settings. Na something cause the overheating but na something else dem go do for you.

This means that your engine doesn't reach operating temperature and causes it to burn more fuel.

If you're confident the repair was handled well and the cause of the overheating was solved, reverse your cooling system to factory settings.

Or I may be wrong. Village people fit dey suck the fuel.

If there is any lower amount scanner that I can buy from 6k to 8k that I can diagnose by myself and will work out perfectly, please someone should recommend I really need to fix this car it’s been two weeks I haven’t been able to sleep well. I just changed, ECU, 6 plugs, engine fan, relays, fuses and everything is ON on the dashboard but it won’t start.

A cheap scanner won't really solve your issue with the car, you need a competent technician not your touchy touchy trial and error guy.

Depending on the app you're using, go to the engine monitoring or live data tab.

You probably have leaking air intake or vacuum lines so check that too. Get MAF cleaner and clean your mass air flow sensor too

Repairs not related but confirm your rewire may have messed with the fuses.

If you can do DIY, check fuse number 22 and replace with a 15A fuse (e no pass ₦200)

For reverse gear, scan with a high end tool to confirm you don't have any transmission codes.

No way 15k fuel will net you 58k, maybe you mean gross tho and when you finally do your calculations, your net may not be up to 30k.

Kommot your commission and kommot your 15k for fuel and you will realize what's left is not up to 30k

No wonder you dey follow person wey make money argue.

You no like indrive but na everyday complain for bolt, better meet Pearl1910 make he enlighten you.

Make i share my one day experience (I only drive a few times i enter Lagos). So took a 30k intercity trip, fuel money for whole day covered and still managed to do 68k on indrive after about 10 hours, paid 8k commission leaving 60k net.

Brought 20k fuel the following morning, hustled 15k net and set back to my base.

Never say never.

What you are pointing at, is the transmission input speed sensor, It is not responsible for cluster speed information.

It is, personal experience (no abs).

Avoid such mechanics. A Kia optima 2023 I believe is bought brand new here in Nigeria and should still be under warranty. Why taking it to a 3rd party to fix?

Please I noticed the check engine sign on my dashboard that used to be stationary recently started blinking for about 20 seconds (twice a day) and when it happens my car kinda vibrates and then goes back to normal when the blinking stops. What's the function this stuff as I noticed its broken.

It's a rod with a sensor and it's connected from the car body to the lower arm (driver's side)

Car is lexus is250.

Any need to be worried?

This should be the height sensor for your automatic headlight leveling. If you have stock lights and there's a warning sign on your dash, replace it if your lights are pointing in an awkward direction.

This code you have is not related to your alternator issue. B codes are usually SRS codes, so your airbag light go dey on right now. Try checking the ECU under the driver's seat, clear codes and see if it goes away.

If your alternator is not charging your battery, get someone to check it or replace it.
