I have been using mine for about one year running now, and it's the one that came with the car as I am yet to top up the gas or anything, although, I feel my other car that I topped up seems to 'chill' more than this one.

Please, is it necessary to change oil filter every time there’s an oil change? My mechanic changed my oil few days ago and I asked why didn’t he change the oil filter too, he told me it’s not necessary for now, that it can be changed on the next service. Could that be true?

Good morning gurus, I got a Lexus gs300 last decemeber, I didn't know the car will be that low, the road that leads to my house was very bad and the car has been constantly hitting the floor. Check if your belt is tight, or a worn out pulley or belt tensioner. Not necessarily a function of bad roads

Second question, the two back tyre rims have black residue on them, it even leaves the black dust on the ground, someone suggests i need to change the brake pad? Is that the case?

Brake pads, yes. Get a quality replacement and get it cleaned thoroughly with a brake cleaner before reinstalling

Third Question, I want to service my car, previous seller was using Toyota SL SAE 20w/50 ( black keg) but i can't find that same exact one here in ibadan, the closest i found is Toyota SJ SAE 20w/50 ( red keg) can i use that instead? Or can i use another oil ( your recommendation?)

Your car actually requires up to 6 litres of 5W30 oil, not 20W/50. If the previous seller has been using it for a long while though, just get a good brand and stick to that. Total Quartz 5000, Castrol GTX

Fourth Question, I did wheel alignment a month ago and since then my afs light has been on, it seems i have to make adjustments to the afs sensor? But most mech here don't really know what that is, what do i tell them to check and where? Or can someone recommend to me a good mechanic in ibadan? Thank you

Go back to the alignment pit. Locate the Lighting/Height Control Sensor (refer to attached image) and be sure nothing is broken or out of place. Na this one I feel the bad roads might have affected.

If you want to fix it right, you need to have the sensor arm at the middle of its range when the car is neutral and at normal ride height.

I bought this vehicle two months back from a friend. Vehicle is still very okay and drives fine. But then, when I ever start the vehicle in the mornings or throttle it down while idle there is this rattling sound coming from the engine.

Note It doesn't affect the performance of the vehicle in anyway, it drives fine.

So I had my mechanic check it out and he said the engine top had been tampered with before. I called my friend and he confirmed this. My mechanic suggested we get another engine top for the vehicle.. I sourced for it myself and brought it to him, which he confirmed before installation. After everything I still hear the same noise, though it reduced. And there are no warning lights on the dashboard.

If you were to put coolant on your finger, you'll notice it has an oily feeling to it, but not like engine oil, more like soap and it rinses off easily, unlike engine oil.

When coolant turns brown from pink, it should be drained and refilled.

Same coolant that protects the cooling system , can become a catalyst for accelerated corrosion when overdue in a cooling system.
