We don't have to get too sentimental about this. Any Nigerian that dies is a great loss to the country.
You are just being politically correct. If he says this on every nigerian that die or has died, it wouldn't be a problem. Or if this guy has been a huge philanthropist to his immediate community and Nigeria( build schools, provide drinkable water, build hospitals, donate to charities, associate with the less privilaged etc) at large. Then, I'll agree with your Statements. But just Because he is a son of a politician( thesame politicians that has contributed to the death of many Nigerians). That's an insult to our collective emotional intelligent. May he rest in peace.

I have been married for 5 years and when I met my husband , he had nothing. Then during my birthdays all he does is pray for me. I knew he had nothing so I never made a fuss about it. Now we are married and living comfortably, he has never bought me a birthday present, never celebrated our wedding anniversary. I even have to be announcing it for weeks , use it on my profile etc. I even beg him to take me to dinner on such occasions but he will make a mockery face at me and tell me to be waiting. The day will come and go. Its quite painful cos I feel unappreciated. Even the prayers too he has stopped them. Pls help me fams, what should I do
If he doesn't celebrate you, celebrate yourself.Get friends and family members and co workers and do your own birthday simple.

Family / Re: Raising A Child To Speak English In Nigeria: Is It Proper? by Freedomforall: 3:30pm On Oct 26, 2017
Short and simple, If you are in Nigeria start with English. Once they have good command of English language, then, introduce an other language ( may be your local language) kids have the ablility to learn multiple languages. My friend children speak three languages. The country the live in is bilingual.

But if you live abroad, start with your local (if you want them to speak it) as they'll eventually learn English outside, cos 90-99% of their interactions will be in that language.

This is not about the church but about her. If the church says the would not wedd you cos of pregnancy ( good the deed has been done ) go to another church and we'd or is it a must to wedd ? Does wedding takes one to heaven or does it guarantee a successful marriage?

Well both the guy and the lady are just church goers and both their characters are questionable.
She was wrong ( she never should have aborted thst baby) but the guy too had a role to play ( he should have listened to her no sex stance)

It takes 2 to tango.

95% of the blame goes to her, cos she is in a better position to take a decision that would have prevented all this from happening, but she didn't. Though from the guy write up it seems he's not the strong type. (he is ever happy to have sex before their marriage and to him, he didn't see anything wrong with it.)

It really surprising that some of you are supporting her action. Cos of church and people she terminated an innocent life. Your girl is not truly a Christian from her behaviour, she is just a church goer, who want to please her pastor(s) and church members.
She is indecisive. She allows people dictate her life which is a no no for me. For her to do abortion without your consent and again lied to you. To me her character is questionable. I don't even know they kinds of Christianity we Nigerians practice? Worshiping mere mortal rather than God. You committed the first sin wasn't remorseful or ask God for forgiveness, but only care about pastor, church, position and what they'll say. Then, went on and committed the second one(killing an innocent child) without remorse and forgiveness and lied about it. And you say you're a Christian. ( God have mercy on today's churches cos they have missed the way).
One more thing make sure you people settle this mess ( ask God for forgiveness and be open the clergy) before any other thing regarding marriage whether you people will continue or not going on with your marriage

Other igbos are far far inferior to the Anambra man and no sane Anambra indigene would willingly submit himself to the authority of lesser igbos, particularly bush people of abakaliki, wawa and abia origin. As for this election, Obiano already won it the day he won the APGA primaries.

Anambra leads, others follow.

I know you're not Igbo, so stop this trash you are vomiting, because Igbo don't do inferior and superior. They are known for equality.

If the man had not recorded it, she would have claimed that the man abused her and fake feminists would have started masturbating on this thread with the word "a man who beats a woman is a beast". And what pains me is the self righteous spineless men who join these women to castigate their fellow men without bothering to hear the full story. Their argument is always "no matter what, you should never lay your hands on a woman".

If we don't start judging cases of domestic violence by listening to every side of the story, we will continue to encourage women to be abusive. Imagine, without that evidence, she would have inflicted injuries on herself and started playing the victim's card.

As for not laying hand in your woman, that is still the best option. Imagine if this man had lose his cool and beat her, do you know what would have happened ? It could result to injuries or death. So who bears the bunt ? Still the man. Better to send her packing or use any appropriate means, that way you still retain your respect than engaging a woman in a fight that'll reduce you to redicule.

One thing men don't understand is that women respect men(husband) who don't beat or pick fight with them. Openness is very important in a relationship. But, try to reserve some, once in a while exhibits them. Don't be predictable partner always.

There is nothing so special about grass root party members scrambling for food at a political party meetings, especially when there is hostility & organizers left due to fear. I think the title of the topic was to draw attention by Sahara Reporters & nairaland should have corrected it.

I pity the Ibo people. Your survival in Nigeria depends on God & on these people. Restructuring or your presidency will still be determined by them. Indirectly & divinely, they control your life as far as Nigeria is concerned. Insult & propaganda are your identities and you are always a loser.

If APC is having regional restructuring meeting in Akure & some individuals have scores to settle with themselves, ordinarily, as 2019 approaches, thugs & touts are bound to be at party meetings especially when it is not a top party executive meeting.

The state delegate whose members are engaged in fight in another state rushing to pick food to depart the venue does not make any news to me. Restructuring is beyond party (APC) matters except it is APC party structures restructuring.

In party meetings anything can happen except top level meetings.

Yorubas are far above the bitterness, the propaganda & the insults of the Ibos. Sir Louis came here as a villager and pauper from Nnewi. He made his money & fame here to open the eyes of his brothers. If you are ejected, you will return the way you came.

You made absolutely no sense in what you wrote here. What does this topic got to do with the trash you wrote here ? Please rethink and check your sense of reasoning.

Family / Re: My Mother Is Seeing Other Men by Freedomforall: 1:27am On Sep 17, 2017
Yelabechi:
I am a guy of 34 and I'm married with 2kids.
I have been going through my mom's phone for a while now and things I see on it are too bad. She has been having sexchats with 3 different men, I am most certain she has met and had sex with one of them.

Background to the story....

My dad has never been the very responsible type, a chronic womanizer and he was always hurting her because she loved him to the extreme. There had been cases where she was even arrested by the police from one of his side chicks who he sponsored through school till she graduated, also a time he brought another one home who engaged in fight with my mom and nothing was done by my dad. There are so many cases like that whom i may not be able to say much on to avoid long story.

As I write this now, he has been out of the house for the past one month living with a girl of about 24. I called him severally man to man to know his motive and he said he can't just explain it but mom has not wrong him in a way because she is a good wife who knows how to take care of her man.

My mom is very beautiful and looks younger than a woman in her fifties so it is not unexpected that other men would hit on her.

I took time to imagine walking in her shoes and I understand she is really hurt, she has asked to leave his house several, I've been the one calming her down and advising her not to leave at her age. She is independent and has a good job, and according to her there is no sexual relationship between them again.

Now I know she is flirting with these men due to loniless and several heartbreak but then, it is disgusting to me that my mom is involved in that even to the point of sending nudes, I saw all these and I am just confused on how to handle this matter.

Should I confront her or just keep mute.

Let me chip in little advice and suggestion. Please don't confront your mother. you over step your boundaries by invading into her privacy. Don't let know about it,at Least not yet.

Now go give your mum a very nice motherly treat take her to a spa( massage, pedi, medi and hair) take her to a good resturant let both of you have a loving lunch or dinner, have a haert to heart talk, if the atmosphere permit ask her what she want( her decision inregrads to relationship) and please support her. But if the atmosphere doesn't present that kind of questions, then, do it some other time may be one or two months after this treat and please support her decisions I believe she knows what is good for her.

Thank you so much,I am hoping for it to reach out, in the course of pursuing this, I have taken it upon my self to cry out until I am heard, not just for my sake alone, I went to one of thier capture centre, and one of those agents there told me that people pass through such experience without achieving anything at the end, I told him that this time around,it wont be the same

Customer service and complaints resolution sucks in this country, a professional bank as GTB took ages to come up with any reasonable feedback, form giving me 5 days, to 9 days, the thing dragged into months,I had to escalate to thier HQ complaints centre before I was given an due attention after weeks, as for FRSC, I have complained through thier mail, phone numbers, twitter handle, dedicated conpliants e mail,it still suprises me that not even one response has come from any of those channel, this has made me to start asking the relevant of all those channels,

I emplore anyone that can help me push this through other channels to do so,other people will benefit,we cant imagine such amount tied up in issues like this

I Had a similar experience with an air line. I cancelled my flight instead of them to refund me they kept postponing it. I threaten to go public with it the next day I got money back with compensation. I pray you get your money back.

Please don't give up, this is your hard earn money so don't let it go. Mistakenly own these banks just 10 naira and see if they will not sharply withdraw it. Unfortunately thing don't work well in this country. The Only chance you've got now is social media. once it get to those platforms with lot of people calling them out the will quickly call you for your money.

My brother is autistic
My mother died recently after suffering and dying of Cancer
My family is not close how I want it to be
I'm 24 whilst my mates are doing masters I am doing a course that is designed for 16-19 year olds, I have no degree or qualification past secondary school
Very insecure about my appearance and life
Jobless
Poor (on government welfare)
Had issues with emotional and mental health all my life and more

When I left school people thought I would be a big ahog as I was so hard working and determined but then my life went downhill from there.

Where has God got me? I'm a virgin age 24 yet my mum will never see my kids whilst my friend is 24 had a baby out of wedlock living with boyfriend their mother is alive and healthy. My bullies bullied me to the point of me being depressed in school, yet they are all succeeding etc and my life is a mess.

Help me, don't tell me about God because he isn't real I have realised that, I used to be such a strong christian but my life has crashed before my eyes.

You think you have an awful life? Wait until you hear other poeple's problems. If everyone is given an opportunity to present their life stories or cases I think you will go home thanking God for what you've got and for your life. I have seen cases more ten times worst than yours and they are hopeful in their situations and you are here complaining.

Me am not understanding dis one of Catholic Church o buh I know in some churches dahs enough reason to divorce the wife cos according to some churches you must tell ur spouse any hidden secret dah could possibly destroy ur marriage later(eg if you hv epilepsy,HIV,children etc). If you don't and it's later found out then ur free to divorce ur spouse and the church will even be in support. Most Catholics are fanatics.

Some people will just be outside and know everything happening in someone else place the have not been to.

Those who are saying "teach them a lesson" are really folks who dont have a clue as to how to transform the Nigger Area into a better country. Instead they get jealous and defensive when other promising people are willing to make a sacrifice to turn their homelands into a place where human beings can live like humans and not like animals.

That is the problem in Black Africa. Like Kanu said, Blacks have a large reservoir of greed and JEOLOUSY

Nigeria just need a good leader to put the country in order which they are yet to get. If you read the history of Germany the have different tribes, but look at where they are today because they got the right person who put their differences aside and carried everyone along. This country will never move forward with the way they are going until the get it right.

Politics / Re: Nationwide Blackout Looms As Labour To Embark On Strike by Freedomforall: 5:38am On Sep 14, 2017
Nagisa:

A nationwide blackout is expected to hit the country this weekend, even as the main Labour apparatus in the country has signaled it will embark on an indefinite strike if the Federal Government fails to meet its demands by tomorrow.

The United Labour Congress in a statement signed by the President, ULC, Joe Ajaero, cautioned Nigerians, advising them to stock up on food and supplies as the intention of the strike is to cripple the day to day running of the country.

“The strike will be very effective as we hope to cripple all modes of transportation within the nation; ensure a total blackout nationwide; cut off petroleum product supplies; and disrupt banking operations, which will make life a bit more difficult for Nigerians.

“We regret these consequences on all of us, but we hope that these measures will help us create a nation that is better governed for the benefits of Nigerian workers and Nigerian masses.”

The ULC said the strike was necessitated due to the Federal Government’s refusal to meet its demands within the 14 day ultimatum which was issued on August 22nd.

He added, “This course of action, though very painful to us at this time, is the only alternative available to us as we have exhausted all known peaceful processes towards an amicable resolution of the dispute.

“We, therefore, call on all genuine patriots to join hands in solidarity with us to urge the Federal Government and state governors to be kind enough to meet the demands of Nigerian workers and masses.”

The demands of the union include the immediate payment of all arrears of salaries owed workers at all levels of government without exception.

Ajaero added that other demands were that “the Federal Government honours its 2009 agreement with university lecturers under the umbrella of ASUU quickly and commences negotiations with them on new issues so that our universities will re-open.

“The roads leading to all the petroleum refineries and depots nationwide be repaired by the government to avoid the present carnage, wastage of products and properties on these roads.

“That the government should demand that the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment set up a task force immediately to carry out factory inspections as most of our factories are death traps.”

Oh,this is bad. I hope the meet their demands because if the embark on this strike is the common man that will bear the pain.

I just saw lots of threads and comments praising the FG for deploying solders to a particular region because they are clamouring for secession (which is their right according to UN human right). Some are shouting kill them all, teach them a lesson, send more armies etc. well, all I have to say is be care what you wish others most of the times it turns back to you. That's the law of nature. If you have(had) dedicated time to read histories of the world you'll understand how event unfolds.
Back to the FG. This is 21st century and in a democratic setting, ( to the best of my knowledge they are armless) so this mode or method of approach is unacceptable and should be condemned by every right thinking individual. ( all these african leaders will be going about create problems in their countries when it get out of hand the start calling for foreign help)
