You don't have to personally literally put lead through a man's head, or slit his throat, to be guilty of murder, or complicity.

Can you guarantee no Niger Deltan has died, or will die either directly or indirectly due to the actions of the NDA?

The people of Bayelsa can't get salaries for months, when a family head can't get income, do you know what happens to his family?

The females (wife 'probably' inclusive) turn part-time hawkers, the males turn to other vices, and the man ends up selling for cheap, things he's laboured for for years, and when that can't cut it, he either ends up committing suicide, or die of some mysterious illness, while Buhari and his fellow gworo chewing, burukutu sipping yada, yada, yada, still fly, by either living on government money or their farms.
Keep pretending you don't know what they are demanding.

Let me remind you: POLITICAL AND FISCAL AUTONOMY.

That's all.

Am from imo state which is part of the Niger Delta
Why now, why not when Jonathan was in power??

Don't niger delta have senators again that will speak for her??
Then you are from the non oil producing parts and so don't or can understand nor feel what they are feeling.

GEJ was expected to correct some of the anomalies in the region in his second term. But they ganged up against him and overthrew him.

The Senate is controlled by the unitarist regions of the country.

So what can you propose as solutions in this circumstance?

More of that, already all our brothers who are in NDU have been at home, schools are on strike in Bayelsa, Bayelsa government is too broke to pay workers, and this is the major state of the ijaws.. ..... . The people you are fighting for??

Just one question.... How many northern states are not paying their workershuh
How many NIGER DELTA STATES are oweing??
Its so clear who really gets the oil revenue and who will suffer more if the oil stops following

For me and my family, we will surely Survive
E consain you?

Abi izit your state?

Na your region e bi?

ALL THEY ARE DEMANDING IS POLITICAL AND FISCAL AUTONOMY---ONLY.

You can keep your concern.

Thanks.

My take on this issie is that Buhari came in to change the old ways but the old ways want his Government frustrated in order to deceive the people into believing nobody can rule Nigeria well. If indeed their reason for detonating bombs planted randomly on pipelines is because of the sins of past Governments why not allow Buhari apply his change agenda before destroying everything?

What I witnessed recently in a gathering of presumably responsible mid aged men in Port Harcourt sent chills down my spine. They all unanimously want Buhari to fail so as to justify Jonathan's failure and that of our past leaders. Nigeria especially Niger Delta is ripe for a war and it is left for these elders to make or marr the volatile peace we're enjoying at the moment.
The bolded is NOT ENOUGH

1. Oil is nonrenewable.

2. The FG has MILKED the Region for more than 50 years.

3. They have suffered and endured ecological terrorism and loss of their livelihood with reckless abandon in the hands of the FG and IOC's for decades.

4. As a result:
>their arable land has been degraded by about 70%.
>Their fresh water resources including fisheries, has been polluted and depleted by 75%( they now rely heavily on 'imported' fish even in the villages).
>Air quality: acid rain is now a new normal in the region, etc.

5. Meanwhile, in the Region, especially in the riverine areas where 80% of the country's oil is produced, no electricity, pipe borne water, roads, hospitals, federal presence, industries, no universities( the only 'Maritime University' has been cancelled), etc., is provided for the people by the FG or IOC's.

6. Yet you expect them to be patriotic.

*****************************************************

Over 50 years of lamb-like acquiescence and contributions to the Nigerian state should not be rewarded with threats of further enslavement.

BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE FOR THE REGION,

Let them own and control their resources, clean up their own land, develope their Region, build a prosperous future and lay up treasure for posterity.

BTW, violence is NOT the appropriate route to take.

Thanks.

And do you mind enumerating the ecological devastations and sacrifices, and economic, social and developmental deprivations your people have endured for decades on account of those contributions?

Never in the history of shell operations in nigeria have they shut down completely all operations.

For shell to do this means the embargos will soon start reeling out on this govt.

Diversifying the economy for equal contribution will take time, but that does not mean action cannot be taken today, reduce the contribution from the Niger Delta to the federal government to the extent that they are contributing the same as their counterparts in other states today. If other areas claim not to have any money and contribute zero, the Niger Delta should contribute zero too. Nigeria has a GDP of over $550B but yet, the government raises only 6% tax as a percentage of GDP, while oil accounts for 11% of GDP, the implication is that the Federal Government is telling every area in Nigeria to keep our $550B a year in our pockets, that there is plenty oil in the Niger Delta to even afford to give monthly allocations to states and fund "national development", this is called national bullying.

Very thought-provoking articles....the problem is, Christian teachings and doctrines preaches peace a lot, even in death, and this owe tribute to the ways and teachings of Jesus Christ which Christians strive to emulate in their daily life and dealings with people.

If not for the way Christianity changes Christians' mentality and mindset to always preach peace and embrace love, I can guarantee you that no religion or people can challenge the Christians because Christian countries and regions are the power house and technology pivot of the whole world.

But then, what happened to Armenians, Asyrians and ancient Christians can't happen now...Muslims can't dare it in this modern age because ISIS that tried something similar in their own country and territories couldn't stand the heat...right now, they (ISIS) are now using children and women to shield themselves as Syrian soldiers backed by USA, UK, Russia and other Christian countries are about to annihilate them.

So don't worry, they can't even think of such again to talk of doing it, never again! angry
But don't forget that a Christiaxn UK handed Nigeria over to the Muslim North (read as Fulani Sokoto Caliphate) at independence.

@MossadAgent, what sayeth thou?

I expect to see my brothers dancing here. The idiots hailing these terrorists have even managed to console themselves that "as long as they are not killing people then they are fighting a good cause" I mean How will YOU eat when they finally achieve their aim of crippling the country? Do you now see how irredeemably Godforsakenly dumb you are? The only followers they can gain are people who never like Buhari and who wish him evil just because he won their hero/brother.
For crying out loud even the king of ogoni land admited GEJ failed them. The Fulani herder is the very one implementing something that was ready for approval since forever, The same man who made sure that he didn't sign the 2016 budget until the Lagos-Calabar rail project was included, something our so-called reps and senators didn't give a hoot about! Are these not things that benefit the common ND man and Nigeria at large? What do you want to do with govt appointments? Are you lobbying for posts for yourself or your family member? What else do you bloody baboonistic species want? Buhari's headhuhhuh?? The so-called brother who was at the helm of affairs for over 5 solid years did absolutely nothing. What did he do for the area apart from making a few militants and elites billionaires who didn't even see fit to donate a tap to their communitieshuh?? Yet some irredeemable foolish imbecilic dumb battalion ingrediential buffoonish nincompoops are still here allowing the devil use them to cause mass sufferings. "Not killing people" my round asss!
The way I'm seeing my people hailing terrorists I'm even beginning to think that we are much wicked and violent than the North because I don't remember Northerners coming out en masse to support BH or the herdsmen killings the way my people are all over the place cheering these guys on as if they themselves are not suffering. I mean what kind of hate will make you choose to die of hunger than allow someone who is not your brother feed you? Even the devil must be shuddering in hell right now! The comments whenever there's news of bombings and likes on such comments make me throw up. Like seriously are we cursed I'm seriously ashamed of telling people I'm from South South now. I'm really not very proud of telling people I'm from this region at the moment. Just too embarrassing!

BusinessRe: 2% Of Nigerians Own 90% Bank Deposits — NDIC by frehage: 8:22am On Jun 02, 2016
trecumng:
As a major indicator of wealth distribution in Nigeria across income groups, a mere two per cent of Nigerians own 90 per cent of total deposits in Nigerian banks.
This represents the wide gap between the rich and the poor in Nigeria, which continues to pose major socio-economic development challenges to the nation.
Director of Research and International Relations at the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation, NDIC, Alhaji Mohammed Umar, disclosed this at the Businessday Capital Market Development Annual Conference in Abuja, yesterday.

His words: “Our current deposit insurance coverage is N500, 000 for the Deposit Money Banks. And some people have said that it is low. I can tell you that it is very adequate for the majority of accounts.
“It will interest you to know that it covers over 90 per cent of accounts in the country. Indeed, Nigerians who have more than N500, 000 in their accounts are just two per cent.

“What we found is that this two per cent Nigerians have 90 per cent of banks’ total deposits. Look at that - two per cent Nigerians own 90 per cent of total banks deposits, while the remaining 98 per cent have just 10 per cent of total deposits. What that tells you is that the gap between the rich and the poor has continued in this country.”

Alhaji Umar added that there were about 70 million bank account holders in the country.
The total bank deposits stood at N17.2 trillion, as at December 2015, according to a post on the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, website.

One solution to narrowing this absurd gap is introducing a tax rate of 45% on this 2%.

The proceeds could be utilized to provide for all Nigerians, free education to university level, free health care, cheep mass transit, affordable power, etc.

The money in your hand thus becomes useless: the farmers no longer go to their farms and so no food to buy; boutique owners abandon their businesses and you are stuck with your old clothes; etc.

Real or true money is not the naira notes you see but the value you create in terms products, services, processes, etc, as solutions to problems, and answers to needs and wants of society.
