PoliticsRe: Diezani Alison-Madueke Reacts To Al Jazeera Report by Freiburger(m): 10:17am On Jun 14, 2016
Onegai:
No-one in Nigeria can ever go to jail for corruption. Ever! Any sane person who has ever done business in Nigeria at a high level is always baffled how the masses of Nigeria not only take so much nonsense but justify and defend it whilst they are dying and hungry and poor and their children are being brought up to become servants to the rich forever.

I've stopped caring about what happens to Nigeria. The poor of Nigeria themselves don't care. Let me fend for me and my family abeg.
wink

Nairaland GeneralRe: Where Do Thoughts Go When They Are Forgotten?? by Freiburger(mod): 7:22am On Jun 14, 2016
Before bothering to know where our thoughts are processed and stored, why not ask where the thoughts themselves comes from?
Thoughts are energy which represents the character of our mind based on our past experiences.
Every thought is processed into the sub-conscious mind which in turn transforms into reality. The sub-conscious mind cannot differentiate between good and bad, or whats real or not. Interesting enough it controls over 95% of our reality.
Thus, thoughts are energy which can neither be created nor destroyed.

This is pure ignorance.

INSURANCE is for ur benefit.

If u insure your 1.5 million car at 3.5 - 5%.

If u have a serious accident, they can pay up to 600k fixing ur car.
Interesting... But how long will the whole process take?

Nairaland GeneralWhat Makes You A Proud Nigerian? by Freiburger(mod): 10:43am On Jun 08, 2016
People have different reasons why they are proud of their country of origin. The Brasilians for example are proud of their national football team, the Americans for their military might and maybe their economy, the Aussies for the fact that their country is a great destinatioin for tourism and one of the best place to live, the British for their queen, the Egyptians for their acient history. The list goes on.
Now, my question is, despite the economic instability Nigeria as a country is facing at the moment, what still drives you patriotism?

Cultural appropriation. They all want to appear foreign or well-traveled to fans. Also done because they draw inspiration from US rap videos where warm clothing is the major fashion.
But I can't sense any creativity in that.

4. They condemn our local dish

When a friend of mine returned from Canada, he told me to take him to a restaurant because he went hungry and I was elated he still has passion for our local dish. I took him to one fascinating local restaurant at Ibadan. When they served us pounded yam/egusi soup complimented with all sorts of assorted bush meats. Instead of eating the meal, he walked out from the restaurant telling me he couldn't eat that shiiit . Honestly, I was embarrassed by his comment.
Abeggi. nobody wan chop fish way fly don turn to safe heaven.
OP, na everywhere you fit cop? Don't you know his body system needs get used to the enviornment first? maybe this guy is just a few days in the country and you expect him to eat anything he comes across.
Music/RadioWhy Do Nigerian Artists Always Put On Winter Outfit In Thier Music Video? by Freiburger(op): 3:25pm On Jun 07, 2016
I dont Know if I'm the only one who noticed this. Most Nigerian artists are always on winter outfits, from leader jackets to shoes that are mean't for weather temperatures below 0 °C. You will also see them on those clothings even on videos that has little or nothing to do with the west. Nigeria is not in a cold region. Although I've also been seeing some few artists on their traditional attire. Beautiful I would say.
The reason why I'm asking is because most of these artists will always claim to be inspired by Baba Fela. Na Baba Fela stlye be dat? undecided
I haven't seen any western artist who displays the african outfits like most of our artists are displaying the western outfits. You will even see some of them covering their neck with rags inside the hot weather grin
What could be the reason behind this? madness or culture sharing?
