Cjrane2: Most people support one Nigerea because they believe it is an opportunity for their region to rob the oil producing regions of their natural resources.
If true federalism were instituted in Nigeria, ALL the problems we face today of quota system only when the north is disadvantaged, falsification of census results, bias in distribution of federal allocations and projects to primarily favor the Fulani states, creation of multiple unviable states and LGAs in far northern desert region just to use them as extra units for cornering the federation allocation money derived from other areas etc will almost completely disappear.
Nigerea does not need to breakup to have peace. We just need to practice true fiscal federalism and all the quarrels from cheating happening now will disappear. At this point, true federalism cannot solve anything. Here are some reasons 1) how will it stop Fulani herdsmen from killing? 2) if a reagion started to develop, especially the east, the whole almajiri in the north will flood that region and take advantage of the regions tax payers. 3) There will still be sharia law which goes against secularism and will lead to more clashes. |

Politics › Re: Tell Me What Makes You Support A United Nigeria..except That It The Popular Take by Fremancipation: 9:56am On Jan 15, 2017 |
DivaFiva: Probably. But you can't deny the yams, beef, onions, peppers and tomatoes southerners often rely on Northern farmers for. Don't get me wrong, that's by no means all the food we need but a sizable quantity does come from the north enough to upset prices in the south during Ramadan or religious crisis. Those things can all grow in the south and has been done by many farmers. Even here on nairaland, you see farmers in the south posting pictures of growing those crops. How did you think our ancestors survived? |

DivaFiva: I often hear Northerners say they provide food and they can support themselves in that regard and it's Southerners who need them...I somewhat agree but that wouldn't have been the case if not for specialization where we have reach region focusing on what it does "best" in the nation. They also think they don't need Southerners to survive...I wonder why they persist on keeping the union. They should come and answer. 1) how can north be providing food for the south when we still import a lot of things we eat. 2) how can the north be providing food to the south when there is mass starvation in the north and almajiris begging for food everywhere The north food production is a lie and a myth that needs to end. |

I have a strong feeling that "One Nigerianists" will ignore this thread like they have been doing in the past when direct questions are posed to them. |

Yugoslavia president supported Nigeria against Biafra because he was scared of the brewing breakup of his country. Guess what, it still broke up.
Supporting china against Taiwan will not stop Nigerias eventual breakup. |

omololu2020: there is nothing an average Nigeria enjoy from both the state, federal and local government. when you travel out of this coutry, thats when you will know nigeria is an hell hole..on my last trip to london,i met a cripple guy,the guy is being paid 500pounds by the british government every month just because he is crippled right from birth.thats a government that cares about its citizens A lot of Nigerians in the diaspora have given up on the country a long time ago and they will never come back. They see how they are treated in their foreign countries and they realize that Nigeria is truly not a country. Nigeria is just a shit hole. Even Nigeria politicians all have houses, hospitals and banks to run to in foreign countries. That's to show you that they don't believe in phantom one Nigeria. |

ArthurADM: Its ok... you've spoken well. But that's the preamble. SO, whats the process to autonomize or free Biafra? What is missing from the focal point of this issue that federation is not taken into consideration at this point in time. Please rephrase your question because I don't understand. |
Politics › Re: What Is All This Noise! Biafra & Break Up by Fremancipation: 8:04pm On Jan 13, 2017 |
ArthurADM: There's no difference if Biafra is actualized; murder, political violence, high rate of illiteracy and stupidity will be imported or say it's already existing. What is the meaning of "break up"? What's your personal gain if Biafra is declared today? What have you or what development will you place on the platform to see that Biafra is a territory of ideas just like China.
You call Nigeria a Zoo, remember the world has declared it "From a Zoo came forth another Zoo called Biafra". There's no difference, you bear the Nigerian blood and attitude. Every where in the world you bring shame to this nation; drugs, armed robbery, fraud, impersonation, rape etc. Atleast, before you gain Biafra, show the world what you can achieve even when denied the privilege to outshine, show the world your visualization and technological advancements, show the world the power of being a sovereign state in Nigeria. Quit the Noise please.
"Nigeria should break up" whay makes up a country isn't it states & tribes? What sums a state isn't it localities? You have the freedom already.... Don't actually know what you all want.
Say rubbish about this post and watch your life breaking up. 1) First of all there is nothing like Nigerian blood. 2)Igbos have proven that they can do much better without Nigeria. They were given 20 pounds after the uncivil war BUT today, look at where they are. So you are dead wrong that Biafra will be another zoo. 3) If Igbos bring shame to this nation as you claim then why is it difficult to let them go? 4) Igbos have already shown that they are technologically, educationally and economically advanced. They have 90% indigenous industry in Igboland. They score high in all academic tests and the have the largest middle class in Nigeria. |

And still even after this epistle nobody send una or una agitation while your godfather is locked up like a gorilla in a zoo!
What is the point of all these useless groups and associations then! They are called PRESSURE groups and are all members of the IPOB Customary government which was formed by all of them. They are exploring different strategies to accomplish the same goal. |
Politics › Re: I Am Confused About This Word Called "BIAFRA" by Fremancipation: 4:21pm On Jan 12, 2017 |
MASSOB- Movement for the actualization of the sovereign state of Biafra.
IPOB- Indigenous People of Biafra
MASSOB started in the 1990s and is the progenitor of IPOB which started in 2009.
Differences between both groups comes in their manner of approach.
MASSOB was initially proactive but their leader Ralph uwazurike was later compromised and corrupted by the Nigerian government. Overtime the movement became a Joke and their former leader became excommunicated from the group for corruption. Today they play more of a supporting role to IPOB under their new leadership.
Uwazurike later formed another movement called BIM- Biafran Independence Movement.
On the other hand, IPOB led by Nnamdi kanu learnt from the mistakes of MASSOB chose a different strategy. They started the radio Biafra to first sensitize the masses and push for referendum. Not everyone in IPOB was in agreement with this strategy. So, some decided to got through a more legal means and formed the IPOB Customary Government. |

no matter how hard you try, SE igbos can't lay claim to any part of the SS. Ask any sound lawyer to enlighten you. Just as SW can't lay claim to Edo and some yoruba speaking part of delta.
Stop trying too hard to do attache by force.. A referendum will settle it fair and square not SE igbos This level of attention seeking behavior is a symptom of psychosis. You forgot to take your medicine today. |

A lot of them, rather, for reasons best known to them, do not buy into the idea of Biafra. I hope you know that when nnamdi Kanu was freshly arrested, IPOB protest happened in Asaba 2 days before onitsha joined. |
