"Oil", The sole reason why Nigeria still exists. Take away oil and you will realize that Nigerian togetherness is a fallacy.

Imagine a clown whose ancestors came from Sahara desert fighting for niger delta oil block. Even though in a sane country, he should have been banished for his evil fathers deeds.

Saddly and oddly a plot of land in eko atlantic goes for 400million naira.
The govt are just trying to make fast and easy money from the rich
#400,000,000 naira just for a plot of land. Then how much will it cost to build a house or apartment and what will be the rent cost?

This project is not for the rich. It's for the super rich.

Of course, our leaders are pretending that all is well and aren't doing anything because they only care about their immediate future. It's a common trait of unenlightened people. Otherwise, they'd already be doing the things I said.
Let's tell ourselves the honest brutal truth. The north controls 60% of the house of reps and the senate. They got this advantage through very rigged census aided intitially by the British. The only way for Nigeria not to break up is for them to give up and agrees to a complete and a total restructure of this shittyt country.

Nigerians are foolish people. Still arguing in 2017 about whose tiny little inconsequential tribe is better. Religion and our various cultures distracts us from the real issues.

It's funny that some people think that breaking the nation into tiny little tribes will lead to success. Ethnic and religious issues will continue, but the difference is that each tiny little country will have it's own military inevitably leading to frequent small-scale wars. We'll all be back to pre-colonial era... constant inter-tribal war, no long-term peace, no political and economic stability; therefore, no growth and success!

There's a simpler way out. Dismantle the stranglehold of religion and create a new cultural identity. Culture is dynamic, not static. It has been done many times in history especially to nations on the losing end of a war. Intermarriages, migrations via economic development of new areas, common law for all, prioritizing scientific education etc. Huge changes in behavior will emerge within 2-3 generations.

At best, the nation breaks in two because the northerners don't seem like people who will ever be willing to shed their culture+religion and fully integrate.

These things can be done but we have old useless leaders with zero foresight.
Listen, Nigeria is an artificial creation and will never work until its forced inhabitants come together and draft a brand new constitution on the terms of engagement and nationhood. For now let's continue to pretend and beat around the bush.

For example, how would you feel if suddenly I forced you and your neighbors to live in one house without any mutual terms or agreements?

Congrats to the Ndigbo states for topping the latest WAEC exam (Btw I am a yoruba guy). Truth be told, Education has regress over the years in SW but I believe we will return to the top again.

But then we have been hearing of Ndigbo domination in WAEC result over the years, still wondering why their universities are still lagging behind in the ranking.
Some honest Yoruba men have written long constructive criticism about the educational decay in the south west but they were disowned as traitors for openly criticizing and bringing out this issue in public especially here on nairaland. Some even said they were igbos using Yoruba names to attack Yorubas. Maybe this is the eye opener that is needed to finally make a change.

As for university rankings, I am not familiar with those ranking to even have an reasonable opinion.

As oil continues to depreciate in value and less revenue generated from its sales, the future will be controlled by those who invest in their Human Resources.

Human Resources is the reason why Apple and not Exxon mobile is the richest company on the planet with cash reseverses bigger than the GDP of Nigeria and South Africa combined.

Igbos are already preparing the next generation for the post oil economy by investing aggressively in education.

Unlike oil that you can steal and share, you cannot steal the knowledge and education and skill someone has in their head. You have to study and train to get it yourself.

The truth is that Nigeria politics is politics of bitterness is i didn't succeed you will not succeed too. The will do any Igbo president what they do to GEJ, they will give him bag of salt & send rain after him.
Remember they are majority in the house & Yoruba's are barber chair, so at the end they will say Igbo man has rule & they will enslave us for another 50yr and we can't talk any more.

Our governors need to come together have a master plan & start the implementation small as they can.
Every body should support Biafra restoration because when you have freedom you manage your resources, plan & execute at the speed you want.
Do you think a yourba man in power will be happy approving your economic & development plan?, the answer is no because it will affect their economy and hausa man will no support you either because of pull him down syndrome, so biafra is the best option for faster development.
Thank you for saying this. You spoke my mind.
PoliticsRe: Group Commends France Over Stance On Biafra by Fremancipation: 2:02am On Mar 16, 2017
OmaniPadmeHum:
The French are the most callous, cunning and sly of all Europeans. These are people who will not even look at discrimination of blacks in France. In their census they remove things like matching income levels with race, matching standard of living with race, etc. They hide the real societal ills in France. They hide and protect police men who murder black and arab youths. A country where the best opportunity the system can give a black person is to be a security man in a shop or to be a cashier at the supermarket or to clean the metro stations.

While I am no supporter of Biafra, the move of the French is not surprising. They are totally avoiding anything that will further hit the polity in English Speaking Southern Cameroon which borders Biafra. Secondly, France will do anything to protect their Uranium source in Niger and would not want issues with Nigeria. Instability in Nigeria could become a problem for them. A large percentage of their power comes from Nuclear power plants. They will do anything to keep peace in this region. They may invade Mali under the guise of fighting islamic terrorists but they have their eyes on protecting their cheap Uranium supply.

The same country which talks rubbish about "Equalite, Egalite, Fraternite" etc. but supports the killing of peaceful protesters in southern Cameroon and even the blocking of the internet so that photos and videos will not be uploaded online.

Same country where one of the then Charlie hebdo journalists had ridiculed jews and was sacked immediately. But the one who ridiculed islam was left alone with their usual deciet of freedom of speech. Within the European union they flaunt regulations and practically parasite on other European union countries.

A country that still practically colonizes countries in West Africa, teaming with higly corrupt presidents to surpress Africans.

No one should take those lazy people seriously. Lazy people who cheered Nazis into Paris. Britiain and America copy cats. Like every other world power, they support you when it favours them or strategically serves their interest.
Thank you for you wonderful input.

The problem with most nigerians is their blind hatred for biafra. It has gotten to the point that they cant read between the lines. France is still a colonial master residing in africa and with their exploitation of Nigerian fears and hatred, they will remain there for generations while exploiting our poor neighbors. West Africa has so much resources and france has its prying greedy eyes on them. Nigeria can continue to be a colonial vassal state because of biafra but at the end we will remain poverty stricken for generations long after oil runs out because of our stupidity.
PoliticsRe: Group Commends France Over Stance On Biafra by Fremancipation: 11:15pm On Mar 15, 2017
There is a very strong movement for southern Cameroon independence going on right now. Their leadership have openly expressed support for Biafra and even said they might form a confederation with Biafra. They started their own protest last year and its getting stronger.

Cameroon is a French puppet and France is worried that if Biafra succeeds, southern Cameroonians will follow.

What did you expect them ( France) to say?

The story of Asaba massacre should be told to those beating the drum of war. When you start a war, expect anything.

And to those still crying about it, please move on. American dropped a very deadly atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki killing thousands of innocent people. Today, American and Japan are the best of allies. Japan moved on quickly because they recognised that anything goes in war. It's time you cry babies move on and stop over flogging this issue.
At least America made sure they pumped in billions of dollars to rebuild Japan but in Nigeria case they lied with the no victor no vanquish nonsense. They went further to build up lagos. To add salt to injury, they constructed a brand new city called Abuja. Evil country.

LOL the same armed forces that confessed that they cannot operate at night?

The same armed forced that was detained by Cameroonian forces after book haram chased them across the border.

The same armed forces that denied for months the death of over 100 soldiers after book harm ambushed them.

The same armed forces that woefully failed with operation crocodile smile against the niger delta avengers

The same armed forces that ceded bakassi peninsula without firing a single shot. Never happened in history.

The same armed forces that shoot innocent bus drivers and passenger just because of #20 bribe.

There was Lagos before the influx of Ibos and there will be Lagos if they decide to leave. Life will go on, a new set of settlers will come and the time ibos were in Lagos will become just another point in history.
In all honesty, I wish Lagos well and I know that it has gained all the ingredients that will enable it to thrive in the long term with visionary leadership. But the status quo will not last for ever, so it can enjoy that monopoly for now.

The future of Yorubaland is not tied to whether or not some people are using our ports just like the future of Ibos are not tied to the interests of a few billionaires.
In that case you are grossly underestimating the immense advantage that the population of lagos is to it. That population which is inflated by igbos and all Nigerians is what attracts investments to lagos. Investors don't pour money into places with tiny populations. Once that population reduces, it becomes less attractive. Simple economic.

For example Uyo has good infrastructure but low population. That's why they are struggling to attract investments.

Trust me most ibo billionaires will defend Nigeria with their lives, only poor and suffering ibos are protesting and getting shot for nothing. A separate ibo nation will still be faced with similar problems Nigeria is facing today.
Those Igbo billionaires you speak of are free to remain in Nigeria. That is their cup of tea. My interest is with the Igbo masses and their future generations. We have seen the mistakes of One fake Nigeria and will plan our futures in critical ways that avoid those mistakes.

If you know this why then do you think Yoruba will need Nigeria more than ibos? Is spare part selling something your uncle was born with and therefore cannot be done by any other person?
Everything I have seen so far have shown that yorubas need Nigeria united. The unity of Nigeria in its current form benefits them as lagos is the major access for trade via its ports. This forces a country of 180 million people to depend on it for everything. Imagine if Nigeria breaks up and the population drastically reduces, what then becomes of the Lagos economy and all the debt that they have incurred. So this is why yorubas are fighting tooth and nail to make sure Biafra is never restored.
