Can someone please tell me that the endorsement of Alao-Akala as the PDP gubernatorial flagbearer for Oyo state is a joke. If this were true, what is all these fuss about fighting corruption? Are we saying that the presidency is not aware of the looting that took place in the 11months of Akala misrule? This only add credence to the fact that EFCC is just a machinery of the FG to hack down percieved opponents in the April elections. How can OBJ be speaking with both sides of his mouth, he is telling us that no corrupt politician will be allowed to contest in the polls while giving the guber ticket to Akala. I dont know the definition of corruption in OBJ's dictionary then. I am not asking PDP to field the incumbet governor, but for God sake, are there no credible polticians in oyo PDP? The PDP has made its intention known that it would rig the April polls with the discovery of the INEC's machine in adedibu's house, so the polls to them is a forgone conclusion. It is now left for the people of oyo state and the other parties to find a way of thwarting this grand plan. Oyo state must be liberated from the clutches of the garrisson commander and his acolytes. |
Everyone has a right to his own opinion, which is good. I am very sure if Bill Gates were to be a Nigerian, some people will still say the same about him. when some people were given the biblical talents, some buried theirs while some doubled theirs. So there is no way we can all be rich or poor given the same circumstances, that is why all fingers are not equal. Anyone can choose to believe whatever soothes him or her. |
Where is Akala's name on the list ![]() EFCC na wayo |
I think we should not based our arguments on sentiments but rather on facts. Is it a crime to have friends in government or be close to the corridors of power? Was there any panel of inquiry that indicted him directly or remotely of having done an uncompleted project/contract. We have had several panels of inquiries into failed contracts and projects under several regimes, and none has fingered him in any of their reports. By virtue of his closeness to IBB, when the banking sector was liberalised, he was given the operating license for his bank etb in the early 90s. Till date, the bank has been waxing stronger and stronger, and with the way the financial sector is been run, im sure if there has been any underdealings or shady dealings the bank must have been sealed by now. Now lets ask ourselves, was he the only bank given the license at that time? And the oil block, his consolidated oil happens to be the first indigenous company to strike oil in commercial quantity in Nigeria. The point im trying to drive at here is that, he was given the opportunity which he utilised to better the lots of millions of Nigerians, directly or indirectly. Many people have better opportunities and blew it, so let us give respect to whom it is due. If Adenuga is a crook, then that means we do not have single clean billionaire in Nigeria. |
The source of Adenuga's wealth, to me is not dubious or questionable and he cannot be said to have taken public money to establish his empire. Adenuga, like many other Nigerian businessmen are close to those in power which to me is a sensible thing for a businessman to do, because business and politics go parripassu. By virtue of being close to government, he was able to curry favour in form of securing contracts, licences etc legitimately which is fair enough. We all know how our oil block allocations got into hands of mediocres during the Abacha regime. When our oil block allocations were being traded on the streets of Europe, but in Adenuga's case, he got the license and operated it. He could have sold it for a princely sum and walked away. On the issue of the Glo license, the primary aim of a bank is to make money from depositors money by investing it, the PTDF money that was lodged with ETB, was repaid back with interest. So a curious mind would ask, if ETB paid back the money with interest and the other bank that the PTDF money was lodged could not even pay the money back not to talk of interest, why is EFCC not after the owners/managers of that bank? So, the whole issue is politics. Adenuga is a shining example and a bastion of hope for many young Nigerians. The developed economies of the world are private sector driven, the role of the govt is to provide an enabling environment for business to survive. This politically motivated attack on Adenuga to smear his reputation is a wrong signal to foreign investors who may feel insecure. Of course, he must have been caught in the crossfire between two gladiators, but still, we should not fight dirty. |
BigB1, Been around, just watching my brother. |
Me too. Need a lady to be my friend in London, my email ID is bigg2small@yahoo.com. |
Tell him how you feel about him. Ladies should be free to express themselves about how they feel, just like guys too. Whatever a man can do, a woman can do better. |
What do you expect from a government that is so neck deep in corruption? A governement whose mainstay is selective justice and witch haunting? The losers in this whole game are the people of Oyo state. This is the time one misses the Cicero (of blessed memory) a lot. It amazes me when things like these are happening, and nobody has risen up to speak against it, is it that the Adedibu has captured the mind and soul of the whole of Oyo state indigenes? Or everybody is happy with the amala and gbegiri he dishes out in his house daily to area boys, thugs and hangers- on in his house that nobody is saying anything? When the DCC machines were found in the garrisson commander's (Adedibu) house, no Ibadan/oyo state indigene has condemned it, the condemnation so far has been coming from outside Oyo state. When people like Dr omololu Olunloyo, who I used to respect a lot could take side with Adedibu and Akala, one would ask, what is Ibadan turning into. If The garrisson commander (Adedibu) should succedd in installing Akala, then oyo state is in soup. The 11months of misrule of Akala will just be a child's play. Oyo state people in general and Ibadan indigenes in particular should rise up. The man died in him, who keeps silent in the face of tyrranny and oppression(Wole Soyinka). I wonder the kind of legacy, Baba as Adedibu is fondly called by his admirers would leave for his children and children's children. Oyo state is the pacesetter state, so they claim, but in this case it is not setting a good pace. |
Ok, thank you. But any lady that wants to chat, may chat me up on bigg2small@yahoo.com |
Yes, nothing more. Im not a player, pls |
Hi, just came to London some few weeks back, but found the whole place has been very boring to me. Can any lady IM me up so that we can chat, talk or gist. Please, im not a gigolo or looking for a sugar mummy or anything. I dont want people to misinterpret my intentions. I just want a lady I can gist with. |
Sorry oo. Why dont you try the Newspaper. A public paid announcement will suffice. |
I dont know why Nigerians are always skeptical about almost anything under the sun. From the thread, I understand this ice rink is from Silverbird, a private company. We all know what Silverbird stands for, Entertainment, so this project is not from the govt. Developed economies of the world today are private sectpr driven. The world has become a global village now, and you dont have to travel to Europe, if you love skiing or an expatriate in Nigeria doesnt hv to travel home in winter to enjoy his hobby, this is what the world has turned to now. havnt you read about the 'ski dubai' ??started in December 2005 is the worlds third largest indoor ski slope, measuring 400 meters and using 6000 tons of snow. Ski Dubai resort is the first Dubai indoor ski slope to open.Dubai is in the desert and this was constructed at the heart of the desert. Why do Europeans go to Asia and Africa to get sub saharan species of animls for their Zoos and Parks ![]() ?We the youth should think like new generation youth and not like youths from the stone age.

tayorich, Im very grateful for your contribution, I am hoping on God to guide me right cos this decision is a tough one and a life changing one. |
Please advise me quick. I am an IT professional in Nigeria with one of the major telcommunications company in Nigeria. My salary is over 200k per month. Now I have just gotten my HSMP visa, will it be wise for me to leave my job in Nigeria and go to to work in the UK? I am currently confused, cos of the tails we have been hearing about the cost of living in UK. People on HSMP visa in Uk, pls respond. This is a major career decision |
I hope and pray that this is true. At least this will mitigate the effect of the shame and disgrace the Amala politician and his cohorts has caused all Oyo State indigenes in general and Ibadan indigenes in particular. A self acclaimed thug who declared his war against the former governor on the premise that he was not being given public money to spend at will. This is indeed a victory for democracy and good governance. EFCC should prosecute the strong man of Ibadan politics now. |
Anita Hogan Weds At Last This is the season of wedding. Here and there people are tying the nuptial knots. Shortly after the wedding of Jazzman Olofin at Ikoyi Registry, the next television personality to get married was controversial actress, Anita Hogan. Journalists and few friends of the actress had arrived the place as early as 9 a.m. However, the actress and her lover, Ted Mak, did not arrive the venue until about 1:04 p.m. They arrived in a Honda I-V Tech car marked Lagos BL 849 FST. Mak, a Dutch citizen, arrived the country last week and announced he would be getting married to the actress despite the story and pictures of the young lady posing nude nude. An engineer by profession, he said he was in Egypt, his new duty post, when the story was published, but insisted that Anita was just too good to be found in that kind thing. He also said the most painful aspect of the matter was when he learnt that the ex-Gulder Ultimate Search participant lost the pregnancy she was carrying at the time. He said the wedding would have taken place before now but for circumstances beyond his control. However, no matter what anyone says, love is stronger than anything else. It would always prevail. ********************************************************************************************* Im happy for her sha, I only hope their honeymoon nude pictures wont find their ways to the press the second time |
Odeku, Im very sorry for you, all the menial work you hv been doing overseas have gotten into your head which has made you not to be able to reason well again. You have surely lost touch with this country. We should be objective and not dwell on sentiments, if you have a personal problem with Adenuga, you may take it up with him as a person rather than wipe up sentiment. From the link you gave, he was born in 1953 and he was already a millionaire at 26 years old. Are you so dull that you dont know that, that was 1979? Was IBB in power in 1979? Whichever you look at it, this man has made a phenomenal success and is a role model for many young upward moving Nigerians not Nigerians like you who are mere political jobbers. You even said you will collect IBB's money, what a shame, I thought people like Daniel Kanu of YEAA fame are no more, but how wrong was I, He who knows not, and knows not that he knows not is fool, flee from him. |
Odeku, What is the source of that story? Are you so daft to the extent that you cannot go and visit EFCC website yourself? Somebody that sits in Canada and writes about happenings in Nigeria based on what he reads on the net cannot give you a concise and true position of things. Pls stop insulting our sensibilities. |
I love u, BigB1 |
I wonder how people react to issues on this forum, if you do not have your facts why make a false statement. Adenuga's name is not on EFCC website, that much I know. Adenuga has done a lot for this country in terms of employment and people like that should not get this kind of treatment from the government. I have not seen anything that he has done wrong from the EFCC report. Even if he used the PTDF money to pay for the glo license, this money was lodged in his bank, and if u lodge money into an account in a bank, is the bank not expected to trade with your money and give you returns? This he has done. He returned the money with the accrued interest, so how come EFCC is not asking questions about the other part of the money that was lodged in TIB, which has not been fully paid not to talk of the accruing interest? |
