Please guys, for document submission at vfs, are there any special rules or tips?
For example, do they forbid coming into the area with phones?
Anything i should know?

Just get the correct passport photo. It’s very relaxed. Even if you hold all your documents by hand someone will be there to help you arrange them. You can also make photocopies inside the office. Phones are allowed but if you make calls they will ask you kindly not to.

You’ll be given a number according to how early you came in. Make sure you are attentive because if they pass your number you’ll have to select the last available number and that will be extra wait time.

In no time you’ll be out especially for France.

Hello good morning. Please what’s the best mobile network to get in France and the best bank to open an account with? And please is there a WhatsApp group for Nigerians that are planning to study in France? Thanks

Orange is the most popular mobile network in France. For banks, BNP and la banque postale, heard those ones are good for students.

There’s no group chat I know of. Yes, third class is accepted especially if you have a little experience in the field.

Getting a job is possible but learn french to make the search easier.

Not possible. You can only invite your spouse after you’ve gained residence permit or citizenship possible after 4 years in France.

Seriously. I’m in awe at the comments. With all our natural resources and population that is nothing to be proud of. It’s not bad but not good either.

Please I have OND in business administration and over 6 years working experience. What are the chances of gaining an admission in France? And is it better I go for an undergraduate program?

Lastly, how do I apply through campus France?

OND is two years of higher education so you can apply in their final year of Bachelors degree which is L3. Campus France application is closed for this year's intake. They will reopen in October. Check previous pages for more information.

Thank you for your kind response, please could you help me with schools their admission is still on, so i can apply for the masters directly.

Private schools' admission are nearly all year long because some have winter and summer intake. This period especially or in a few months. Here's a little catalog but you can check for more through google, https://www.4icu.org/fr/private/

Nearly all public schools are closed because they are connected to Campus France but there are some specific courses that may not be. Also I know of Paris-saclay University which is non-connected but public.

Greetings guys, please i would like to know schools in France, i can apply for top up program with HND this February.

There are no real top-up programs in France. Their Higher education levels are Bac 1 (L1), Bac 2 (L2), Bac 3 (L3), Bac 4 (M1), Bac 5 (M2)etc.

You are able to apply to any of these levels based on your previous studies. You can apply for masters (M1) or (M2) directly (after 3 or 4 years of higher education) or you can apply for final year (L3) of undergraduate (after at least two years of higher education) for an undergraduate diploma.

So you can go directly for masters. There is no difference between HND and Bachelor’s degree.

No school requires IELTS in France for Nigeria. The IELTS requirements is for students coming from a non-English speaking country and want to study in English.

Well I would say I have a moderate level of prononciation and grammar rules, however I was not really writing when I started learning since there was no tutor to give me exercises to do or tasks to write. I also didn’t bother to write since I had no one to correct me. Now whenever I try to write , i kinda lack ideas or points so I’m always blocked.

So what can help usually is sketching. Always jot down ideas first and then build up on them. You can always think in English first when it comes to writing. Especially for exams, to make the least possible errors compose in English and learn the art of translation.

Also keep improving your vocabulary, then the right words will come to your head more easily.

Thanks so much Madame. It’s very nice of you to share such a wonderful piece. I have been learning for more than a year too and have plans to write the B2 exam. For some reason, I kinda dread the exam. Don’t even know why ? Also, my writing is not that great compared to my other competences. Why do you suggest ? Thanks a bunch.

What makes writing difficult for you? If you speak sufficiently and are good with pronunciation then you should be good with writing because french orthography is even more straightforward than English.

Is it the accent, syntax, grammar, gender agreement or vocabulary?

Wow. This is incredible. It really interests me whenever I find someone who learns French by self-study. I am currently doing the same. Do you care to give out some tips and other steps you took to realise this dream ? How long did it take you and what challenges did you face ? Thanks

It was a very big struggle and that is why it shouldn’t be a big deal for people to seek out tutors especially for directions. Let’s just say I was directionless so I learned every and all things at once and gave up like 20 times but each time I remembered the progress I was making I would continue again. I kept learning until I covered every area that I needed to learn. The difficulty came in speaking because I had no one to speak to so I channeled all my energy into reading and listening (I listened to variety of French videos and audios sans cesse) but there’s a big world of difference between understanding and speaking.

It’s been exactly two years since I started learning and I wrote DELF B2 just under a year of learning. It was the very first time I would ever speak out my french to someone that would understand me. I used to just do it in my head only or just record my speaking. I did pass the exam very well but I couldn’t boldly tell you I could speak French, I just prepared very well for the exam and I guess I was lucky.

My thorough understanding of French came when I picked up a job as a French tutor few months later and I had to draft out like a curriculum had to really understand concepts, reread, and solidify the things I already knew and also I met people online who I did language exchange with. I talk to them in French and English so we both improved in our target language.

If anyone asks me what resources helped me the most then I’ll tell them this textbook; the complete idiot’s guide to learning French. It gave me a head start that I couldn’t be more thankful for.

Then the next best resource was Learn French with Elsa. Best tutor on YouTube hands down. She has few videos in English but I found her when I started picking french so I caught on very quickly to her videos in French. She’s so good.

Last best resource was a podcast I listened to every time called Inner French. That was what helped me for my exam because of the essay- like read.

Your greatest asset would be passion and dedication. If you naturally love French then it will keep you going or you have a strong reason like leaving the country since yesterday. I had both anyways. So yeah, that’s it.

All the French tutors I've been seeing online especially the Nigerians doesn't make learning this language exciting with their tuition fees. Duolingo and other French learning apps + YouTube videos have been helping me a lot. Got some PDFs too, I'm sure it would take so long to be able to speak it well but that's cheaper and you learn at your own pace

I’m self taught as well. Good luck!

What are my chances of gaining admission as an HND with Postgraduate diploma with over 10yrs of working experience?

Chances are high. If you have relevant work experience, you have improved your chances. You’ll also need a good motivational letter.

They don’t even know what a bachelors degree is in France they just do rough equivalent based on your transcript tbh. They have different grading system and their undergraduate degree is three years. You’ll even be allowed to apply directly for year two masters if you have undergone some similar training for at least 4 years.

No it doesn't apply. Whenever you get an independent admission then you will be required to connect and pay.

The deadline is for those who submitted through Campus France or their application will be nulled after the deadline.

Hi,
Thanks for the information.

I just got the unconditional Admission letter from BSBI Paris. The MBA program is set to start in March 2022.

What's the next Step?

Do i need to visit CampusFrance Office for Manual application and then to VFS for appointment or
Just VFS for Appointment .

Secondly, Does France require Document (Bachelors Certificates) verification from The Court? or Camps France handles all of that?

Thank you.

You don’t have to visit Campus France. Send them an email and they will direct you on what next to do. It will usually involve you going to their portal to submit your documents and then paying the fees and booking an interview with them before you can start planning for the visa.

No document authentication is required.

According to the French Diplomacy website, here are 10 good reasons to learn French

1. A world language
More than 300 million people speak French on the five continents. The OIF, an international organisation of French-speaking countries, comprises 88 member States and governments. French is the second most widely learned foreign language after English, and the fifth most widely spoken language in the world.

French is also the only language, alongside English, that is taught in every country in the world. France operates the biggest international network of cultural institutes, which run French-language courses for close on a million learners.

2. A language for the international job market
The ability to speak French and English is an advantage on the international job market. A knowledge of French opens the doors of French companies in France and other French-speaking parts of the world. As one of the world’s largest economies and a leading destination for foreign investment, France is a key economic partner.

3. The language of culture
French is the international language of cooking, fashion, theatre, the visual arts, dance and architecture. A knowledge of French offers access to great works of literature in the original French, as well as films and songs. French is the language of Victor Hugo, Molière, Léopold Sendar Senghor, Edith Piaf, Jean-Paul Sartre, Alain Delon and Zinedine Zidane!

4. A language for travel
France is the world’s top tourist destination and attracts more than 87 million visitors a year. The ability to speak even a little French makes it so much more enjoyable to visit Paris and all the regions of France, and offers insights into France’s culture and way of life. French also comes in handy when travelling to French-speaking parts of the world.

5. A language for higher education
Speaking French opens up opportunities to study at renowned French universities and business schools, ranked among the top higher education institutions in Europe and the world.

6. The other language of international relations
French is both a working language and an official language of the United Nations, the European Union, UNESCO, NATO, the International Olympic Committee, the International Red Cross and international courts. French is the language of the three cities where the EU institutions are headquartered: Strasbourg, Brussels and Luxembourg.

7. A language that opens up the world
An ability to understand French provides access to an alternative view of the world. You can follow French thinkers and leaders from all over the world and news from the leading French-language international media (e.g., TV5Monde, France 24 and Radio France Internationale).

8. A language that is fun to learn
French is an easy language to learn. There are many methods on the market that make learning French enjoyable for children and adults alike.

9. A language for learning other languages
French is a good base for learning other languages, especially Romance languages (Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Romanian) as well as English, since a significant percentage of English vocabulary is derived from French.

10. The language of love and reason
First and foremost, learning French is the pleasure of learning a beautiful, rich, melodious language that is often called the language of love. French is also an analytical language that structures thought and develops critical thinking, which is a valuable skill for discussions and negotiations.

Hello Ma. Thanks for your openness and all the help you are rendering. Is it possible to get a school in France to run a PhD in English or Linguistics (Applied)?

Thank you.

Yes, possible but unfortunately quite difficult as I heard and there’s no much information on ground about it either. Just search for schools and request for information from them on how you can go about it. Your best bet will be private schools and they will cost a lot.

Can those who graduated with 2:2 secure admission to study masters?

There are a number of factors taken into consideration on admission decision not only your grade. Your CV which includes your skills and work experience, letter of motivation, interview performance, number of applicants, certifications, language skills etc. So of course yes.

Admission with campus France is closed and so is it for most public universities in France. Private schools are still open and most are specialized schools based on the course you want to study, so you can start your search for them from Google and then go on their website to see their formalities.
