Kennyinusa:
You are very right @op.

There was one interview i went for and the interview asked my how much my last pay was, i didn't lie to him but i told him $Bleep and then he asked how much i wanted for this job of which i told him 2*$Bleep = $XXXX and he told me that getting an 100% raise from my last Job was not what he can guarantee, he now started counseling me that i would have to reduce that blah blah blah.

For the next two week, they kept calling and i gave excuse that i was not in town, believe me for two weeks, they were still calling. At this stage i knew that if i wanted even more money, they were most definitely going to consider it.

At the very end he offered to pay the $XXXX but i turned them down because i got an even better offer.

So for me, asking the question is not the problem but knowing what you are worth and how desperate you are.

The truth is at the end they would still fire your ass, especially if you are smart.
That's it my brother. #KnowYourWorth and dont settle for crumbs because you desperately need a job.

BusinessRe: CBN Officially Devalues Naira by FrenchyL(m): 7:57pm On Feb 25, 2015
kaboninc:
The Interbank Window is like every other market where banks go to source for funds to meet customer's obligations such as the USD. It could be for seeking 'quick cash' too. So if bank A has $100 and bank B needs $100, bank A can sell to bank B through that platform. But transactions on this platforms are in huge oh.

In Nigeria of recent, there used to be 2 major windows or market platforms that determine the exchange rates - CBN's auction system (RDAS and WDAS) and the Interbank Market. The auction system is actually a controlled system and that really came with severe consequences especially with dwindling oil prices which is our major foreign exchange earner. One consequence was large price differentials between CBN's official rate, interbank's rate and the black market.

Another was that it was open to abusive, speculative and round tripping activities by dealers. CBN began monitoring activities in the FX market when they had to dip their hands into their reserve to sustain demands and support the naira. By observing the demands, they felt that it was actually been abused. Let me give an instance. A customer comes and presents a bid for say $300 million (gets it from CBN at say N168). Gets the funds. Instead of meeting geuine demands, he goes on to sell to BDCs at the interbank rate (at 181 or higher which is about N13 or higher in profit for every dollar) without doing ANYTHING! That is N3.9 billion cool cash! cheesy

Thus those who genuinely demand USD do not get it and those who can give, give at higher prices (scarcity). So CBN has to come up with so many measures and policies to curtail this 'MADNESS' and one of the latest was to effectively close the auction system and allow the forces of demand and supply to determine the exchange rate.

Opari wink shocked cheesy
Wow! This actually explains the situation clearly. I have always known that some individuals were responsible for the scarcity of foreign exchange but I just could not give a sensible explanation beyond the lame excuse an uneducated mind would have given. But then again with these new CBN measures, is there any possibility that there might be a drop in the exchange rate? Knowing that at some point, those who have refuse to let go of their dollars, would soon be faced with a case of too much dollars and fewer buyers, that is to say that the supply might outweigh the demand. Furthermore, let us assume that oil prices go up again,(like I think they would at some point) what effect will this have on the currency market?

Thanks for the very valuable information.

Old NEWS!

This is how you create FALSE news and spread it with so much ZEAL and PASSION. Common sense which is common, you don't have. And people like berem will come here to rant her support for block heads like you.

There is no current 'official' rate by either the CBN or YOU. The market has been liberalized, thus allowing demand and supply to determine the exchange rate. There's a window called the Interbank Window. CBN has pegged the exchange rate of the dollar from that window.

There are so many dynamics going on here but because you appear to be DULL, I should save you the PAIN of understanding!

See the peeps above me most of them typing away their intelligence and broadcasting their IGNORANCE of the SUBJECT MATTER.

Like that diluminati and Adminisher!
I love the way you analyze stuff. I need to ask you a question. What is the Interbank Window and how does it function in determining the exchange rate? I am not a banker or a financial person but i do like to learn such stuff.

Thanks.

Can you now just stick to the thread and dont bring in your superstitious implausible brouhaha into it?

Horus and Jesus fables are just same implausible myths, i choose to live in reality... and oh lest i forget. "when you die, you are bleeping dead and nothing more)

If you want you can open another thread on it so we can discuss it more, but please lets not derail this one
Hey take it easy! What you consider to be a fable isn't and in all fairness anyone who thinks that there is no life after death, just like you do, is actually the ignorant, shallow minded one. No pun intended. Enjoy!

Read the post again and again till you get it.
was only following our argument. If you are not yet born again, then i just want you to know that God loves you and he created you for a purpose. One which you can only fulfill by accepting Jesus Christ into your life by making him Lord and savior of all that concerns you. It is not mandatory but it is in your very best interest. we live in are dangerous times and all these signs of wars and unnecessary killings were foretold by Jesus, the end is here. The question you need to ask yourself is this: Where would you spend eternity? I guess you know that life does not end on the earth. Would Horus or whoever save your soul? Just questions that you should ponder upon.

The horus fable greatly influenced the egyptain society for thousands of years...

This Jesus concept is still a modern fable compared to that of horus.
So if it stays as long as the horus concept have it will too slip down the drain of human history and nothing and nothing more just like horus.

If this horus fable was directly brought to africans by the missionaries, am sure you will still feel the same way for it as you do now for the Jesus fable.
Very interesting! So what kind of words does horus give his people? Does he give them certain powers ? And where is he today? Dead or Alive? If he is dead, then when did he die? If he is alive, then where is he today? How relevant is he in today's world?

I also need to ask you if you believe in Jesus Christ? Just for the record. smiley

The ancient Egyptian deity Horus also made such claims thousands of years before Jesus!
Cool! The question that needs to be answered is this: Where is Horus today? What positive impact does he offer his followers in this life and beyond?

muslims also believe theirs is the God almighty, creator of the heavens and the earth and all within, so does the hindhus and pegans and greeks and vikings... so?
I cannot speak for them or about what they believe. What is worthy of remembrance are the words of Jesus, when he said " I am The Way, The Truth and the Life", No man comes to the Father except by me" ( John 14:6) Jesus was very definite about who he was and still is.

Go live for a year in Japan bro...
It won't change anything my brother because I have been on the other side of the divide and I know the difference. By this I mean, I have lived as someone without Christ, I can't even begin to narrate to you my experiences at this time however what I can tell you from my personal relationship and experiences of relating with The Lord are simply #Supernatural. Truly if any man be in Christ, he is a #NewCreature. Some comments on the thread have talked about the bondage of religion and they are right. I say this because being a Christian has nothing to do with religion, it is a relationship with the Father where he lives in you by his Spirit and he does his will through you here on the earth.

Which god are you referring to as an embodiment of good? I hope it's not the Yahweh deity?
I am referring to The Lord God almighty, the creator of the heavens and the earth and all that is within it. The God which Christians serve, who by the way, is the one and only True God.

Christianity EtcRe: Can You Be Good Without GOD?? by FrenchyL(m): 11:48pm On Feb 17, 2015
Very interesting write up. My answer to that is NO! This is simply because the natural man was born with the Adamic nature which is already corrupt before birth. You need to understand that man is a spirit, he has a soul and he lives in a body. The word of God says: that the heart of man is desperately wicked"; this simply means that anyman without a recreated human spirit, which gives him the nature of God, is a ticking time bomb. It is not about how good that person appears to be rather it is in his nature. I believe things from the biblical perspective which is the Truth of God's word. We can go on and on about this but no man can be good without God. Finally, it is not just a God thing but a Jesus Christ thing because until one accepts him as Lord and Savior, life is simply empty and very meaningless.

Yes they are recognized . The education has gone virtual and you have a lot of sites that offer MOOCs ( Massive open online courses). Sites like Coursera and Edx come to mind , where you can do a course which is not a degree course in itself but is a part of the work load or course work for either a degree or Master degree course.
Other online courses offered by foreign universities are recognized worldwide , but you have to prove that you actually learnt something.

I hope this helps.
