Mordson: But this is not enough to make you get tired of your marriage. My brother, i feel your frustrations however what you are doing is a very noble thing as you have become the first son of their family. Have a heart to heart discussion with your wife and make her see things from the overall existence of your own family, that is you , her and your child. While you cannot ban her family members from coming to the house, there can be some level of control but it must be done tactfully and without bitterness. NO FOLLOW YOUR WIFE QUARREL OH!! Just reason with her and may God increase you so that you can gain the capacity to handle more responsibilities because they are coming.. |

Follow the organisations protocol and don't invent your own idea as a worker especially if it's a company owned by someone running it themselves
Schools have curriculum for a reason, never go beyond it...
Leave other people's children out of your religious and Political affiliation
. Hello. I have a different view to this. I do not think that asking the kids to pray for Nigeria is a bad thing neither is asking them to give a moment of silence in honor of our late COAS , an abomination. We need to pay close attention to the way we raise our kids, they should be made to think or believe that things such as empathy and national consciousness are irrelevant. How will the change come if the future generations already view key issues are trivial and of no consequence? What kind of future are we preparing them and the nation for? I am deeply concerned really... Then again ,what do i know. |

Vibesking: Thanks for the info you provided. I'm planning on moving to Jos as a fresh graduate. How would you rate the cost of living as regards housing, feeding, business opportunities etc? Hi Bro, My earlier response was made a couple of years ago however Jos has not changed much. Food is still cheap, housing is still affordable just that you need to live in a secure environment. Business opportunities however are somewhat limited and you will need to look at what is available in the town, create a niche for yourself and make a living. Best wishes bro. Do not forget that the weather is veryyyyy cold oh! No try yourself, get warm clothing once you arrive. |
Travel › Re: What Is The Cost Of Living In Abuja? by FrenchyL(m): 7:24pm On Mar 31, 2021 |
Fuckingmallam45: Abuja is pleasant. The Harmattan in the winter is dusty, and the dry season following quite hot, but with the summer rains life outside becomes cooler. Expat communities are tight, and it is easy enough to meet people, although I mostly hang out with Nigerians, but that is my personal choice, not a necessity.
Many working Nigerians live on as little as 200-300USD a month (current calculations reflect 40,000-60,000N at 200+N to 1USD). Some live on far less. You can live large on 1000USD a month, buying new clothes, eating out, traveling on vacations abroad twice or more a year, and still save money, if you scrimp like a local in between splurging.
Traffic isn't a problem within Abuja but travel outside the city can be wearisome due to congestion in some areas (Nyanya in particular), potholes, checkpoints, and other hazards.
The city has lots of green areas, often with bush bars so getting a cold beer and some local food is seldom an issue, and prices are cheap (1-2USD a 600ml beer, roughly 22oz). Maitama is the wealthy expat neighborhood, but even there prices for anything beyond housing are reasonable.
It's not a walking city; sidewalks are often non-existent, and distances are usually too great for more than local market shopping. Driving is a bit hair-raising at first, but the light traffic makes it reasonable enough during the day. I don't like driving at night unless I know where I'm going well.
Crime is not a problem, and I visit questionable neighborhoods, often with locals, but sometimes alone, although I am a big guy, so my advice would be different for a small woman. Sexism is over the top here, which is rather unfortunate.
It's unlikely you will have water or electric issues due to company housing, which almost certainly includes a generator. It's normal to buy water for drinking, but tap water is fine for bathing and washing vegetables.
Current (3/2015) food prices are roughly 4-5USD for a "flat" or 30 egg tray, 3USD for roughly 5 pounds of potatoes (a wastepaper bucket filled and mounded on top), same for a bucket of oranges. A large pineapple would be 2-3USD at most. Meat is a bit more, and most expats shop at Shoprite, a South African based grocery chain (2 in Abuja, main one at Silverbird, a modern 4 story mall). Odds are good you'll hire a maid who can also shop and cook, and monthly wages typically run between 150-250USD.
I can get a meal (pressed chicken, suya, pepper soup) from a street vender or local restaurant for 3-5USD. An expensive date at a fancy restaurant might run to 50USD for both of us, including drinks.
Gas/petrol is roughly 3USD/gal or 160/liter. Due to the low price we're experiencing one of the occasional shortages (the wholesellers are keeping gas off the market to drive the price back up). You can hire a driver to deal with this issue however (I don't, but do pay for a steward).
Abuja is a good place to be an expat in Africa. Not as good as South Africa or Kenya, maybe, but pretty chill nonetheless. I've no complaints after a couple of years here. Bro you broke it all down. Wuse 2 has sidewalks and they are cool especially if you love taking evening walks. I stay on Adetokumbo Ademola in Wuse 2. Cool neighbourhood. |

Yamiriflathead: Man of God with Sense unlike OYEDEPO AND OYAKHILOME. I pity their mumu followers Interesting view you have! The question i have for you is this: Would Jesus Christ say the same thing? I have come to learn that God works with his people based on the revelation and knowledge of his word which they have put to use in their lives, so if one Christian knows that that they have the life of God in them, that as Jesus is, so they are in this world and they have also come to a point in their walk with the Spirit of God where they have no iota of fear for any virus nor disease, my brother do you really think that they can be called mumus for believing the word of God? Na just question i ask oh so talk your own. Kindly advise. |

XXXXTENTACION: Well volunteers where tested with the vaccine you can more information on google. as we speak they is news that millions of people in UK and other countries have taken the vaccine you can check various news sites to get more information. I agree but what are the results? The effects of vaccines could be felt years down the line as we have seen with polio shots. So who is going to bear the responsibility when the side effects start manifesting? Definitely not NAFDAC so who then? |
Health › Re: Why COVID-19 Vaccine Will Be Administered Without Clinical Trial – NAFDAC by FrenchyL(m): 10:48pm On Jan 03, 2021 |
SeriouslySense: There is a new strain of corona virus, and there were some reports that a nurse who took the vaccines, was still infected with corona virus, so it may mean, it is not even working for the new mutated strain, so it means, they may have to modify the vaccines and still vaccines people after the first vaccination
These tests or trials must be done first before rolling out vaccines on a global scale. Can you imagine the damage that will be done when they are found out to be a fraud and not effective? It will be a scandal! Furthermore, these pharmaceutical companies have been absolved from future litigation so what that means is that anyone taking the vaccines cannot sue them to court now or in the future. That is devilish and extremely evil! It’s a case of eating ones cake and having it in the oven at the same time. |
Health › Re: Why COVID-19 Vaccine Will Be Administered Without Clinical Trial – NAFDAC by FrenchyL(m): 10:39pm On Jan 03, 2021 |
XXXXTENTACION: Its a vaccine not a drug take note of this.
the company that produced it and variouse experts in the field that have tested the vaccine say it has from 70% to 95% efficacy. So the question is this: who have they tested with the vaccines and what are their findings to show as case studies to back up their claims of 70-95% effectiveness? If they cannot produce this evidence, then the vaccines are a no no! |
