Your argument about the U.S. is also flawed.

Democracy in the U.S. is not collapsing, institutions still act independently. The Supreme Court recently rebuked Trump and struck down his sweeping reciprocal tariffs as unconstitutional use of executive power.

In Nigeria, when Tinubu suspended a sitting governor after declaring a state of emergency, powers which constitutional lawyers agree he didn't have, the legislative branch approved the move. Contrast that with 2004 when OBJ made a similar move and suspended former Plateau governor, the Supreme Court later declared it unconstitutional.

Second, Presidents using military without congressional approval is not unique to Trump. Obama did the same 2011 against Libya, and speaker of the house at the time confirmed he didn't need congressional approval. Presidents have caveats they can exploit without needing congressional approval for a formal declaration of war.

There is no overwhelming public perception in the U.S. that the President controls the legislature and the judiciary. Institutions still challenge executive power.

In Nigeria, majority of the public have completely lost confidence in the independence of democratic institutions.

Why are you lamenting here?

Already alarms are being sounded by officials in the Trump disgrace of a WH adminstration, that the Israelis have laid an ultimatum to Trump to send in troops to Iran or they (survivors and replacement of King Jew Bibi's terrorist Likud Party) will activate the Samson option and blow up the entire ME and Europe.

Security leaks say Israel's last tottering government has given TRump 72hrs to deploy troops on Iranian soil or they activate Samson option.
