But other local Nigerian media claim he signed a $1.2ml contract with Atiku.

It appears it was all smokes and screens and that Atiku knew he wasn't hiring a Washington lobby but a social media troll.

Let us first find out if all his filings he claims he has been submitting under FOI request were actually real.

Van Batten Okeke operates within Social media using his handles to spread sensational claims of progress on his own going lobbying.

A quick check of his social media account shows that only a handful of his followers on X and Facebook are from the US with the vast majority being from Nigeria.

His followership exploded following his lobbying deal with Atiku.

A casual review of his followers list shows most are from the SE part of Nigeria.

He has used both fringe Biafra seccesionist pages on Facebook and accounts on X to push his fake lobbying and to get followers of said pages to follow him back on his own handles.

He then posts sensationalist and totally fabricated ongoing progress reports on these handles for his gullible followers and from there get shoddy click bait online publications in Nigeria to publish his posts as facts.

This creates a further loop in spreading and giving his lies as being authentic.

He choses to use his alias Karl Marx Van Batten to portray himself as an American Washington based politician and lobbyist alongside his fake doctorate title to give himself credibility among his clients and his dumb followers.

It's all a scam.

His lobby firm operates from a suit in a Washington DC plaza and claims to have a retinue of highly experienced legal and policy analyst staff but his tax records shows he only has himself as the one on payroll and claims to outsource most of his work to outside lobby firms.
