Ondo Governor appoints brother as university VC From Niyi Bello, Akure GOVERNOR Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State has approved the recommendation of the Governing Council of state-owned Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, naming his younger brother, Prof. Nahzeem Olufemi Mimiko, as the Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the institution. advertisement Mimiko, a professor of Political Science who specialises in Political Economy and International Relations, was to be named for the position in April 2006 when he was also recommended by a panel set up by government to shop for a new head for the institution but was rejected inexplicably by the then administration of Dr. Olusegun Agagu. Even though Prof. Mimiko emerged as the most qualified candidate in 2006, having contested the position during his tenure as the acting Vice-Chancellor of the institution, his brother's involvement in the race to the Ondo Government House, was manipulated as the main reason for his rejection by the Agagu administration. The governor was reportedly swayed in the choice of Mimiko by the fact that he clearly emerged as the preferred candidate from the long list of contestants shortlisted by the panel and the need to have the best for the institution. A statement from the Public Affairs Unit of the university signed by Mr. Bamidele Olotu stated that Prof. Mimiko, a thorough academic of international standards, was chosen purely on merits. It added: "Following interviews conducted on campus by a joint Council and Senate Selection Board last week Thursday, 17th and Friday, 18th December, 2009, the Governing Council of Adekunle Ajasin University unanimously recommended the leading three of the 14 applicants to the Visitor for him to choose one of them as the university's next Vice-Chancellor in line with the University Law. (Schedule 1, Section 7). "The Visitor has now announced through the Chairman of the Governing Council his gracious choice of Prof. Nahzeem Oluwafemi Mimiko, who was unanimously ranked number one by all the members of the Selection Board, including the consultant as the university's new Vice-Chancellor. "Until his appointment, Professor Mimiko was the Head, Department of Political Science, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. He holds a B.Sc. Social Sciences (Political Science) degree, M.Sc. and Ph.D. in International Relations, all from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. "He was at different times a Social Science Research Council, MacArthur Foundation; Visiting Scholar at the Thomas J. Watson Jr. Institute for International Studies, Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island, USA, and the Korean Foundation Visiting Fellow to the Academy of Korean Studies, Seoul, South Korea. "He was also a Visiting Professor at the Department of Social Sciences, United States Military Academy, West Point, New York, USA. He is a Fulbright Scholar and winner of the United States Army Public Service Award. "Professor Mimiko, 49, has more than 60 publications. He is Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Policy Initiatives; and Convener, Africa Research Initiative. He was at different times Head of Department, Acting Dean of Faculty, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Acting Vice-Chancellor at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko. He is married with children." https://www.nairaland.com/372835/governors-brother-state-university-vc |
So Patience Jonathan has been appointed as a perm sec in her state (wrong move for accepting such high-wired sycophantic appointment). What about a sitting Governor appointing his own blood brother as the VC of his state university? |

Foks, Let me spoil your free run a little bit We were all here when Gov Mimiko appointed his own brother as the VC of the State University in Ondo State. If we must condemn this, we must condemn the other one. Thank you |
emiye: I am looking at Quality (strength) not quantity of industries. A blue chip manufacturing coy in Agbara might have the strength of some twenty others somewhere else. Yet there is far more commerce taking place at Nnewi than Agbara. The blue chips at Agbara belong to Oyibo and few Nigerians who take the money and put in banks overseas. The industries and hence the money at Nnewi is local. That is why Agbara remains a rusty town despite all the blue chips there. |
emiye: Agbara in Ogun state.Agbara does not have more industries in general than Nnewi, but it has more multi-national bluechips for sure. |
jbaur24: The cup goes to the following three cities:Are there industries in Lagos Island and VI? Are banks also industries? Okay may be service industries. ![]() Okay! I see also the word commercialized, which then factors in VI and Lagos Island. My bad But I had reckoned the OP meant manufacturing industries. |
In no order of most industrialized Aba (Abia) Onitsha (Anambra) Agbara (Ogun) Otta (Ogun) Warri (Delta) Nnewi (Anambra) Zaria (Kaduna) Not sure how many companies are in Sapele, let alone Abraka. |

As a former body builder, I can tell you that many guys you see with great muscular bodies have small dicks. The supplements used has an adverse effect of shrinking their penis size and in some cases premature ejaculation. Most women get disappointed when they get in bed with a great bodied man and he is done in 1.5 minutes. The guys resort to using stimulants such as Cannabis. July 11, 2012 12:20 PM Anonymous said... By Billionaire News on August 24, 2010 | From billionairenews..com Let me introduce you to Femi Otedola, a Nigerian billionaire oil tycoon. But he’s a huge crook, though. Here’s his story: A few years ago, the 43 year-old Femi was nobody. He hung around government offices soliciting for contracts here and there. On the side, he ran a small printing press which his father owned. In 1999, using his father’s influence (his father was a former governor of Lagos state in Nigeria); he started an oil company called Zenon oil. Zenon traded diesel products in Lagos state, Nigeria. You’ve got to give him some credit though, because in little time, Femi built Zenon into a multi-billion naira oil trading company, cornering major multinational companies as clients. A close friend of former Nigerian president, Olusegun Obasanjo, in 2005 Femi bought a controlling stake in one of Nigeria’s publicly traded companies, African Petroleum. By acquiring the controlling stake in the company, he installed himself as Chairman and CEO, much to the opposition of thousands of shareholders. That’s when the problem began: Femi ruined the company. He embezzled the company’s funds to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars, and made the company operate at a loss. The company’s stock is now at an all time low, and shareholders have not been paid dividends for two years now. Shareholders hate his guts for this. Some wish his penis will grow shorter. But Femi is not bothered. He owns a $20million mansion in Bishop Avenue in London, a $15million Lagos mansion, and a $16million mansion in California, U.S.A. His Garages are packed with Bentleys, Roll Royces, Mercedes G55s, Ferraris and lots of freakin’ expensive cars. He famously owns $150,000 Cartier wristwatches and he is always seen in white traditional Nigerian apparel. He is said to have a huge ego, and he recently fired top management of his company simply because they did not greet him during one occasion. And because of this, we can conclude that Femi Otedola is a goat. They should be meaning Christians in the North and South West, am sure. I dare them to enter Igboland or the former Eastern region to force the conversion of anyone to that murderous religion of theirs. |
Christians In Nigeria Should Accept Islam Or They Will Never Know Peace-Boko Haram Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for last week's series of attacks in Plateau state which left scores of innocent Christian men, women and children dead including a serving Senator, Dr. Gyang Dantong, and the lawmaker representing Barkin Ladi in the state house of assembly, Gyang Fulani, at a mass burial in Maseh, Plateau State. Boko Haram in a statement signed by their spokesman, Abul Qaqa, also called on Christians in Nigeria to accept Islam if they want these attacks to stop. NaijaPundit brings you the statement from Boko Haram below; The Jama’atu Ahlissunnah Lidda’awati Wal-Jihad, is grateful to Almighty God and hereby makes it known to the world of our success and attack on Barkin Ladi and Riyom in Plateau State on Christians, security agencies and members of National Assembly. Like we said earlier, Christians in Nigeria should accept Islam, that is true religion, or they will never have peace. We do not regard them as trusted Christians as some illiterates are campaigning because it was Christians that first declared war on Muslims with the support of government. Like we said, we shall continue to look for government officials; they will not have the rest of mind. We will attack their homes and security agencies in the same way they are attacking us and destroying our houses that we been renting. We will continue with what we did in Rijiyar Zaki in Kano State. To the general public, particularly those in Kano that are dragging their heads into this fight by supporting security agencies. Let them learn from what happened to people in Kurna quarters. From now on anyone found wanting should have himself to blame. We do not have any agenda than working to establish Islamic Kingdom like during the time of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) no matter what will happen to us. We heard the information going round that new National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki has gotten means of reaching us for a dialogue, that is a new lie. http://www.naijapundit.com/news/christians-in-nigeria-should-accept-islam-or-they-will-never-know-peace-boko-haram
