Well,, I don't know much about gay.
But Back in my university days, I had a friend( we attended same xtian fellowship) who confessed to me about being gay, at age 11 he was introduced to it.

I was also struggling with consistent visits to prostitutes which I revealed to him earlier before he let out his own secret. It was an emotional laden confession as we cried profusely over each other's shoulders. We pacified each other and also prayed about it for speedy divine help.

It's over 8 years now and I'm totally free from the shackles. No urge, no thoughts towards such.

For your little cousin, my little advice is that you show him love, I mean empathy towards him. Don't criticize him destructively, do it constructively. Reiterate it to him that he is strong to shake it off and overcome. That's the foundation, then professional and spiritual help can follow.
