@potusuk
I studied Chemical Engineering however, I work as a Project Control Engineer. Hence, i could not claim 5 points for work experience as a Chemical Engineer. Well, your believe is wrong.

@Mamajaz
Amen n Amen. All the best in yours. Receive the anointing grin

@Mctowel01
I already had 10 points for English, this brought me to 55 points. I opted for Engr Tech thinking that i would get 5 points so as to reach the minimum required. Surely, if I had foreseen, I would have gone for Chemical Engineer instead. I was "running" away from writing another English test as I wasn't sure I would get 20 points. So it was safer to go with Eng Tech.

@Bnimz
Your analysis is right. It was inclusive of the 10 points

Thanks guys "blushing"

@mctowel01
Yes, that's true, my bad. I initially wanted to be assessed as an Engineering Manager however, EA got back to me and said i couldn't apply for that as it is a high level executive position. I was given two options instead - Engineering Technologist or Chemical Engineer. As i wanted to claim points for work experience, I opted for Engineering Technologist. When the outcome was released, EA cut my 3 years work experience to 1 year unfortunately. This is the reason i have been gunning for 20 points in English test as I was left with 55 points after the assessment.

@bellong
Thanks for everything. You really challenged and encouraged me to give it another shot even when I was down. God bless you.

@phlumter01
I received the anointing lol.

@ibiyemiara

Thanx for the prompt response. 2 hours later!! wow!! Does that mean they had done the assessment and just didnt communicate it with you till you called? I would like to ask, did your status change at any time to "Assessment in Progress" before you called them or it remained as "Queued for Assessment?
TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by funkyjo: 8:43am On Aug 03, 2016
Hello House,

I applied for assessment via EA (fast track). Today is the 10th working day and my status still reads "Queued for Assessment". Please how long does fast track normally take for those that have used this option? It says within 10 working days to get an assessor on their website. Thanx

Hello House,

Please when uploading documents for EA assessment, do I have to upload them individually for example BSc Transcript page 1, BSc Transcript page 2, BSc Transcript page 3 or I am to upload it as just one document - BSc Transcript?
Thank you.

Hello House,

Please I am trying to gather the documents required for assessment with Engineers Australia. I came across this in the booklet under documents for relevant skilled employment assessment "Documents issued by the related government agency or any other organization not related to your employer, such as tax report, .....".

The thing is, for the first company I worked for, I don't have any of the documents listed. No tax report, no pension/retirements contribution. What can I do please? Thanx
TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by funkyjo: 2:15pm On Jun 15, 2016
@malkinburg

Thanks for your contribution. The thing is I need the work experience to get the minimum of 60 points, without it I would have 55 points as my clb is 7.

@bellong

Thank you very much for your response. Are you saying if I apply to be assessed under Engineering Manager and EA thinks otherwise, they could recommend another category say Professional Engineer or Technologist? Would I have to pay another fee to be re-assessed or how does it work pls?
TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by funkyjo: 12:52pm On Jun 14, 2016
Hello House,

Please I need some advice.

BSc Chemical Engineering
MSc Engineering Business Management
PMP certified
3 years+ working as a Project Controls Engineer (one year as a trainee)

I want to ask if I am qualified to apply under Engineering Manager category or I should apply under Professional Engineer category.

The thing is I have no work experience as a Chemical Engineer but a lot of the stuff I do at work falls under the Engineering Manager category.

I would appreciate your advice. Thanx
TravelRe: U.S. Non-immigrant Visas: We’re Listening by funkyjo: 3:05pm On Oct 05, 2015
Dear VO,

I applied for a B2 visa for vacation purpose. I had my interview today however I was denied. I honestly do not know why because i have traveled to other countries, i have a job, am married. The only thing i can guess might have caused it was when i was asked for my salary. I earn 100k basic salary but i have a share from my company's profit every quarter. When asked how much i earn, i told the VO that i earn 100k but that i get certain percentage on the company's profit quarterly. i was then asked how much that would be altogether per month, i said 220k. After deliberation with another VO (they were two in the cubicle), i was denied. I intend re-applying soon as i intend to spend my vacation in the US. My question is, do i put 220k when applying next as my salary (since everything together is abt 220k per month) or would this be seen as inconsistency because i put 100k the first time? I suspect this might have been the reason for denial. Thank you.
TravelRe: U.S. Non-immigrant Visas: We’re Listening by funkyjo: 5:21pm On Jul 08, 2015
Dear VO,

I am married but I still retain my maiden name because that is what is on my international passport. I am waiting for my passport to expire before changing my name. However, I am confused on what to fill as my 'Title'. Can I use Mrs but still put my maiden name? As in "Mrs Maiden Name". Since it is my title that shows that I am married. I want to apply for B2 visa. Thank you.
