Hello NLanders. Does anyone have an idea of the best HMO for senior citizens in Nigeria (i.e for someone above 65/70 years old)? |

Jesusbabygirl: Do you mind if I ask a question about CPA, etc. I have an undergrad degree in Materials Engr but I worked in Nigeria for 3 years as a Strategy Analyst..Then I came to the US and got an MBA and Master of Finance. Now, I work (less than a year) as a Financial Analyst (my job is like a 50/50 blend of Accounting and FP&A). My question is will I be able to do CPA without an accounting degree? Will my Master of Finance suffice? I am avoiding doing a CPA in the US since I am not sure of staying here and Canada is most likely my final abode. Please advise, thanks. Yes you can do the CPA without an accounting degree (and with or without MS Finance). |

Jesusbabygirl: Thanks for your response. Lol @ "please don't say Atlanta". I heard TERRIBLE stories about Atlanta embassy, so NO. I am looking at New York because I believe that is the only Nigerian embassy here with the option of expediting. Glad to know someone at least knows about the Montreal VO. Do you by chance know if there is a Post AOR group for the Montreal VO? Try DC, you get an capturing invite within 7 - 10 days of application, and processing takes about 2 months (not sure of expediting the process though, i hear some people get theirs in 2 weeks after capture, but i am not sure). Did my capturing in December, scheduled for pick up in February. I heard NY takes months before they invite you for capturing (someone got like 7 months). |

Eficator: Please all this age stuff is past tense, please @funkystanl if u have any hint of OPQ and why it is been done at this stage this time around please shed more light. No issues with the age thing. Just clarifications and apologies. OPQ at this stage...I wouldn't know. I wouldn't assume so as not to mislead anyone. But change is constant and PwC is dynamic and agile to change. current staff should know better. |

theoptimist298: Lol. If only u know how many people u automatically rejected with ur initial comment about age. I don’t expect any firm’s HR to own up here, all i’m saying is, be one before u make a comment which could imply that certain persons are not qualified to apply. What applied last year may not always apply this year especially where there appears to be a bit of info suggesting this. No age cap was stated in the advert as against previous years. I’d wager my last card on the fact that even if youre an employee and u dont make an extra effort to be aware (which i doubt u would have to time to do), you wouldn't be privy to current recruitment criteria as you would be too busy trying to check if TB ties with FS and such and such. I’d be happy to hear your thoughts on this lol. Lol...thanks and I apologize for my comment on the age earlier. However there is no time PwC has put an age restriction on its graduate trainee positions. And if you read my comment earlier, I said it's an unwritten requirement. This is what we know from the past. However I still need confirmation if this is graduate trainee or advisory. It's God to know and update my knowledge. By the way any PwC staff has as much information as to the recruitment process. I wish you the best in your invite and then you'll get to know these things. |

theoptimist298: I almost didnt apply because of that comment. Im glad i did and i got the test invite. I dont care if we are employees of a firm or if so and so obtained last year, if we donot work in HR, please let us desist from making dismissive comments Congrats and thanks for sharing. But you think a PwC HR personnel will come here and say he or she is one right? |

KODACK: Am sure above the age limit and I got no regret mail.
Why discourage people from applying na. Congratulations and apologies. I don't discourage people from applying. My comment is based on my knowledge of the firm for 5 years. Anyone who applied between 2013 and 2018 would agree with me that once above 26 the system automatically sends you a regret mail within 48 hours. Of course change is constant, maybe the rule has been relaxed. Another thing...is your application for the graduate trainee (tax and assurance) or advisory? Thanks |

joashette: Yea I advised as such earlier.
How about someone who is 26? when is the cut-off date.During applications, before end of the FY, July 1? or when exactly is the cut-off time pls?
CC: @funkystanl @Kokeyrulez true stuff though. At 30 most people are getting close to or even managers in PwC. I used to have a manager back then who was 27. The cut off should be at the time of application (not sure and this may still be subjected to human scrutiny). I think the application has the age bracket already. The age should be the age as at last birthday. |

OpiAnooo: Thanks @funkystanl that was very helpful, my answers cleared.
Please I'm asking on behalf of a friend
He said is it possible to withdraw ones application after submitting under "Tax/Assurance" and reapply for Advisory after discovering what it entails and would prefer it over tax/assurance.
How should he go about it after submitting under Tax , should he send a mail to @felicia indicated during the application infos or he should just withdraw the submission if it is possible so he doesn't end up applying for the 2 so as not disqualify himself.
Please help out our elders. Error has been made so please help out please, it's solution that you can help proffer
Thanks for Nairaland and elders who are keen to be of help. The hustle is not easy , hustle from application process Not sure I have a clear answer to this. Ordinarily I'd think withdrawing the application for tax/assurance and applying for advisory should be fine. But aint sure how this works. @TheRealAdonye may have a better view |

OpiAnooo: @funkystanl please I'm applying for the Advisory Role and I would be finishing my Service in March and one of the requirements stated under Advisory is a 1 year cognate post experience which wasn't stated in the Tax & Assurance graduate program and Advisory is my interest , so I would like to know if I can apply or wait till next opportunity. I would love a sincere answer. I met other requirements except the 1 year post NYSC cognate experience caveat
Thanks in anticipation You can only apply for the tax & assurance graduate program. If advisory is your interest, just chill till next year. The 1 year post NYSC experience is a strict requirement for the advisory role. On another note, if I am to advise you as a bro/sis, I will say you should apply for the tax/advisory program...hopefully you get recruited. After one year or thereabout with the firm, with good performance you can make a move to advisory. However, this is contingent on the advisory LOS/BU business needs. With the way things are in Naija there's usually a slim chance of getting that job that will give you the required 1 year experience, except of course, if you are already sure of getting one. So why not spread your risk? |

4gunners: Pls, what should I put at the work experience section. I do not av work experience related to Tax and Assurance. Put in your relevant work experience even if it is teaching Yoruba Language in a primary school . If you have no experience, put your NYSC experience. You do not need to have tax, assurance or finance experience. PwC wants only your good brain and self! You will learn everything you need to know on the job. |

datascience: Is it not quite foolish that someone above 25 with an MSc has been sent assessment invite? Would you like to get your facts right? And probably fix your anchoring bias! Someone above 25! Is he/she less than 26? For what role? Advisory (with experience) or GT? Is it for the tax apprenticeship initiated last year (with specified age cap of 28)? As much as I know, the PwC GT does not really focus on whether the candidate has BS, MS or PhD (all treated as one). And you do not have to use words like "foolish" here. Try to be mature and be as open as possible (in explaining your views). If you have an experience where the facts fit what we have here then share sincerely. We learn everyday! |

datascience: Because you were sharing false rumours about age Alright, if you call it a "rumour"... I am not here to argue, if you know something else, then share. I have said as much as I know (for the tax and assurance GT), having gone through the process myself and assisted people on this platform over the years. |

Chibexe: i want to know if they consider age for their selection for the online assignment as it was not stated in the application requirement.
i will be glad if someone who has experience or participated in the last year recruitment can answer me. Yes, age is considered, its usually an "unwritten" selection criterion. Once you more than 26, you'll get a regret mail after few days. |

Thank you sir Well, you guys should just keep fingers crossed. You should get mails soon... this month I thinkI think some guys will be resuming by August...Assurance and Advisory, while others will do by October...Tax and Assurance.
