sassydust:Ditto ednut olalekan206:Whether you are chartered or not the interview treats you all equally, but as someone chartered you are likely to expect some theoretical accounting questions. So being chartered does not in anyway influence/affect the interview decision! If you are finally recruited as a chartered accountant you get more pay than others...yeah more pay but little difference from a non-chartered personnel. ameexy:The group discussion is just to discuss the given topic with your group members...none of the interviewers will ask you any question..they will even act as if they are not listening to you guys but will tell you to speak up. Please read up about Group discussions online or watch group discussion videos. ameexy:Around a hundred people doesnt mean they are recruiting hundred...it may be more it may be less....like i said initially funkystanl:I dont want to state the number of people recruited last year so that you guys dont start competition and calculating probability theories...but it isnt a fixed number...and yes it is around 100 |

Chukwutobi: Sorry about this...and thanks for sharing your experience so others can learn. So guys this is just one of the type "victim of circumstance" I was referring to...its somewhat inevitable, it must happen, not that falling a victim means you are not good or prepped, some things just happens. @olalekan206 you are most welcome. Definitely...see you in August/October. 1 Like 1 Share |

olalekan206: It is not possible...that is the reality of life! But the truth is PwC will employ as many people that performed well. Now last year, the number of people selected wasn't a round figure like 50, 100, 150, or 200 etc... It tells you PwC is not looking at choosing a fixed number. But I wont rule out that they have a number bracket they want. If they cant get up to that (based on performance of applicants) that wouldn't mean they will lower their standard of recruiting. If they get up to that based on the performance...fine, but in reality... with the standard I don't think so. I wish everybody goodluck and success but at times some of us fall victims and miss chances of being selected. The more reason you have to be fully prepared...cos not everyone at this stage would get in due to unforeseen events! |

I'd suggest you start prepping for the interviews now. Especially if this is your first job interview. The interview should start latest May...usually 10 applicants per day. By end of June you should get the result of the interview. Last year interview started late April...so don't dull. 2 Likes |

phetty: Phetty et al the interview is a simple one. It comes in different forms (questioning and flow), it depends on the interviewers and you. One key to success at this stage is to be confident and bold (pls not overconfidence). BY now most of you should have read some interview tips or watched some videos which is cool. These help you to know how to comport yourself. The interview day has two stages: The group discussion (GD) My advice here is to read up or watch videos on GDs as well as the do's and dont's of GD. PwC will provide you with a topic on that same day...so its an "impromptu" kinda GD. The topics are not too difficult...some may throw you off anyway but they are general topics in Nigeria that we discuss daily...could be on the election or boko haram, transportation in lagos, SMEs in Nigeria...etc. These are topics any senior school grad could discuss. If you dont know anything about the topic...dont speak up first wait for others to talk and take a cue from them...but YOU MUST TALK. The panel will pretend as if they aint watching you...but trust me...they are watching and listening attentively. Please do not cram any topic...there is likelihood they would repeat topics...but that is not going to help you if you count on that. The real interview Immediately after the GD with a 10 minutes break, the interview starts, one person at a time (based on first come first serve...so late comers be ready to be the last to be interviewed). The interview should last on average 45 minutes give or take 15. It all depends on you and the interviewers...if you can soak the interviewers up with good conversational flow...cool. My advice...dont allow the interview be all Question and Direct answer things....build a conversation with them...flow well...ya know what I mean...like talking to your friend in a corporate environment. Please be well prepped. Read everything you can...news (business day), social information, about your course of study (even if it is biology...some of those interviewers are well grounded), your final year project....just read everything possible. It is not a must for you to answer a question immediately you are asked...you can buy yourself time...10 sec max anyways...dont rush your answers. Do not go there without a tie...I mean the guys...and please even if you no get try borrow your size just for the day alone...i mean a suit.. I am not sure but I think the suit counts...for the ladies...oopz...just be formal...for u ladies anything goes for formality...no just overdo the things na him be my advice After the interview...please feel free to ask the interviewers any question...it is not compulsory but I beg you to ask....ask about 3 - 5 questions....well thought questions...feel free to also ask the interviewers personal questions...but never ask a personal question without asking a professional/career based question. This is all I can put up for now....I'll hint you guys more when the need arise. All the best guys!!! 17 Likes 4 Shares |

WOW!!! This is getting interesting. Congrats to the guys who made it! Your chances of joining PwC increases at this stage. Well the OPQ isn't something difficult. Like "they" say..no right and wrong answers...however true, I personally dont believe that. If your personality responses dont go in line with PwC sorry for you. In view of this, you need to tailor your personality to PwC core values, Leadership, Teamwork and Excellence. Mind you the questions wont directly ask these values! Relationship also matters at this stage. There are so many questions, and if you are not careful you are likely to fall into the trap of conflicting answers...a lot of us fell into this trap but nevermind if it is just one to three... I personally think this is another thing used to score the responses...your responses should be highly consistent, valid and reliable. After the test, I'll advice you start prepping for the Interview and group discussion...especially those that haven't been interviewed anywhere before or scared of facing people.... I wish you all the best....but be very careful at this stage. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Encyclopedicon: Yes you can reschedule...but the possibility is very slim due to the condition. The Condition is you have to look for someone who is willing to swap day and time with you...then both of you would forward your names to the HR on the based on the "agreement". Reason been that PwC already made plans for 10 people per time given.....they do not want more than 10 per test period. So the only way you can reschedule is to find someone who can take up your space/period and you take up his/her space/period |

smiley15: Not really anyway...to the best of my knowledge the core values remains Excellence, Teamwork and Leadership across the global firms. However, what PwC look out for in people includes Whole leadership, Business acumen, Technical capabilities, Global acumen, and Relationships. These can be further split...when you guys get to the OPQ and interview phase we can talk about this to detail. |

Wooow....sure u guys are having fun in here.... by now most of you must have taken the test *if not you are on your own ooo and definitely not for PwC 2015 GT recruitment* Well I wish you all the best, to those who employed mercenaries it's not too late to start practicing and ask your mercenaries to teach you what they have done...else you are as good as not taking the test AT ALL You guys would be invited to write a verification test *same standard of test you wrote online, same shl, but not same question, if you are lucky sha you may get same question (0.1% likely)*. The verification test will take place at PwC head office Victoria Island Lagos. I'd advice those with first names or surnames starting with "A" to be most prepared cos you are likely to be invited first and if you are outside Lagos, start making plans to travel down to Lagos. The verification test is likely to commence on the 16th. I wish you all the best. Goodluck!!! 3 Likes |

KillerBeauty: You just have to keep practicing and understand the numerical even if it takes you the last day to attempt it! You can go thru the questions (during practice) solve each question yourself and check the solution immediately (don't solve the whole questions before checking the solutions). Do this for the a day and make sure you understand the solutions and why it appears so! The next day you can then solve all the questions yourself again without looking at the solutions till when you are done. Mind you don't be "too" time conscious. Well stop wondering how they want you guys to answer such questions...pwc wants the best and the brightest...that can keep up with the work challenges in PwC. Whatever can make you defeat those shl questions would make you defeat theoretical work issues... 2 Likes |

My simple advice...maybe late though...go for accuracy before speed...SPEED KILLS!!! When you are accurate the speed will come with time... If you are too conscious of the time there is a good chance you are likely not to answer correctly...the test was not designed for you to completely finish....but at least complete 85% correctly. During my time while practicing I cant remember a time when I finished the whole questions within 30 minutes for numerical or verbal. I ensured I understood the solutions and tricks. But while taking the test I finished up 85%of the questions correctly and @ that point i got like 2 minutes to go...then I did the usual naija tin on the remaining questions...try your luck. The most important thing is I am sure that I should get 80% from the 85% i did well...and maybe 2% "try your luck" random answers. 9 Likes 2 Shares |

anopworld: PwC cares about its people. Yes from the time you applied PwC understands you have interest in the company so PwC will not just leave you without informing you! That's why even those who had 2-2 or above the required age got regret mails after application . PwC is not one of the coys that do the "only successful candidate will be contacted" So everyone gets a message at each phase of the recruitment process (you either get success or regret mail). I pray you all (Nairalanders) get success. 6 Likes |

Splasshhh: How long? I can't say. But I must say it is a LONG PROCESS from application to final resumption. Just bear it in mind you are resuming by July or August (if successful). The pay...well its better than most jobs any "common man" can get in Nigeria. The environment, well I need not talk about this. Most of you have heard or read PwC is one of the big four and one of the best place to work in naija. What you've heard is not something programmed to be said....its actually true. Another thing is you do not have to know anybody to get into PwC. I tell people the best chance you can have getting into PwC (entry level) through man-know-man is to be a contract staff. But this graduate trainee process is free and fair...strictly based on merit. If you are good you get to selected. And there is no competition. So no need to keep information you have or share your knowledge of some things. Let's save the remaining stories till after verification test. 4 Likes |
