Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Ever Gotten A Job That Requires A Grade Higher Than Yours? by Funminded: 5:18pm On Apr 29, 2022
Yes.
I presently work for an automotive company. I got the job a month ago. The position required that I have 6 years experience with an MBA. I have neither.
I am a graduate of Microbiology with only 2 years experience that weren't even gotten from the automotive industry.
How I did it?
1. The job is in Customer Relations and I have cumulative experience dealing with customers. I mean, who doesn't?
2. I read through the job requirements and tailored my CV to suit it while I effectively prepared for the interview.
3. I prayed, fasted and trusted God.
That was it!

Thanks so much for this. mehn I'm really not good at running but maybe I'll start jogging early morning as from Monday and prolly give myself timing for some particular meters.

But pls brother I'm more concerned bout likely questions since this should be my first interview.
Likely questions like I already pointed would be about stuff you studied in school. They will test you mathematically if you're a maths graduate for example. If you're an engineer, get ready for random engineering questions. And also current affairs. And yea, they'll test your random security consciousness...that one will be like a senario question and you'd be asked to profer solution but it's nothing hard.

Thanks for this.

My interest is NN DSSC.But what I'm scared of is, service is only for 12-15 years. After that, I'll have to Start thinking what next to do with my life, what other career I can go into.By then age won't be on my side again...
This thought is what is holding me!

15 years is a long time for you not to take solid step for you life now. With all the money you will make while serving in the military, you can set up multiple businesses and you'd be very ok when you retire. Don't entertain fear! Go for it if you want to!

Best regards!

I'll be expecting bro. thanks

So I am back.
Congratulations on passing the first stage. Now the interview stage is a rigorous one and is where most of the magomago happens but I trust God to grant you favour.
You will be required to face a board of very senior officers who will interview you on a set of random things including your profession. They may ask you questions on current affairs too. You will also undergo medical tests, part of which will be standing naked before a medical professional lol. You will participate in a long distance race and will be required to make a certain cage. This cage means run within a stipulated timing. If you don't get to a set mark within this timing, you shall be disqualified.
You may also be required to write an exam... its nothing difficult anyway. So no fear.
You have been required to bring some clothes. Let me advise you, if you can, carry more than the number of white Tshirts you were asked to bring. You will need them. Keep one properly ironed short and shirt for the day you will face the board. You won't be able to iron your cloth in Kaduna and you won't want to look shabby before the board... cut your hair low and also shave your beards if you have any...to military men, appearance is a top priority!
Finally, pray and pray and pray! Be nice to any and everyone at the camp. Some of them are not there for the exercise...they are intelligence officers who will pretend to be among you, just monitoring the entire process! Imagine if you're nice to someone like that...??

You can ask me specific questions if you have any and I shall be glad to answer them.

I wish you the very best!

Hey bro, you should sit her down and have a conversation with her concerning how her words got to you. Let her know she was really unappreciative of all you are doing and you don't appreciate that.

As much as possible, please make yourself happy. Dont allow depression set in because it is the easiest way to the grave bro.

And lastly, make sure to understand why she is yet to get pregnant...very important.

BlueRayDick:

Guy rest abeg!

People posting food here do not owe U any obligation to name their food after whatever u think makes u feel good in the presence of Ur "non Nigerian" friends.

First and foremost We are Nigerians posting on a Nigerian blog sharing whatever we prepare in our kitchen with our fellow Nigerians. Nigerians use words like "local rice" to let u know the rice they are referring to is the rice grown in Nigeria and not the imported Thai Parboiled that is common to us all; Nigerians say "native jollof rice" to make u know the jollof rice being referred to is one that has native ingridients like locust beans, dried fish, palm oil, scent leaf etc.

This in no way implies those words are derogatory and do not convey such meanings to the person being addressed. For example when u asked holycon what she posted and she said it's "local salad" almost all of us understood what she meant and didn't see any attempt at belittling our own delicacies in her post. (She even added a laughing emoji in that post)....Nobody is embarrassing anybody by calling their food a name everyone can easily relate with.

You are the one who needs to drop this Ur newly found political correctness at the doorstep of this thread and pick it when u are done viewing/commenting on food posts.
Well said! The guy has issues with inferiority complex.

Don't know why this is being debated at all.
I eat salad made by things cultivated where I live
Should they start calling it local salad too? (Which place or country don't source their ingredients locally anyway) They call it salad.

Prefixes used are the ingredients used to make such salad eg cucumber salad, You guys should stop embarrassing us with I know it all attitude. We show this thread to non Nigerians proudly.
Wonder why ofada stew is not called local stew or do you think its only in Nigeria u see ofada stew? All west African countries prepare okro soup. Wonder why they don't use the term "local" to bring it home.
How will some of you know when you see them come out boadly trying to justify blind and illogical arguments.
Imagine" local salad" what a name to give that beautiful salad I saw up there. I have a popular Nigerian cookbook and it has salad like that one up there. The name wasn't local salad.

Here is not just posting refined food pictures but learning.

There are things you don't associate food with and it's local. Go and learn. You can never hear this from a chef. You may hear Nigerian stew, Nigerian jollof rice but local. Gosh, that's gross.

So please don't ever try to educate me on subject I know very well to stroke some people's ego.
Thank you.
Won't respond to this again as it's waste of my precious time.
Justifying in born inferiority complex we battle with everyday. Forum that derive joy in attack rather than research.
Mtcheew.

Omo... you need to chill. The inborn inferiority complex you spoke about is actually something you have a serious issue with. Settle yourself.
Your ego won't allow you learn something new. "Local" is not a negative word. That you mentioned chef and whatsoever in the quoted response wouldn't make it a negative word. If the salad is called local, then I understand it to mean its ingredients and style originates from here. If a meal has indigenous ingredients but foreign preparatory style, then its not local.

Grow up. No be everything be fight.

You don't call it local.
Be proud of what you cook and eat.
You don't see Chinese calling Chinese food local or traditional. You don't see Korean naming anything they prepare local.
There is nothing wrong with the word 'local' as you presented. Local means indigenous. If someone calls something local, they mean it's origins are from the geographical location the writer or speaker is writing or speaking from.
So, calling that food "local salad" only means that it is styled and prepared using indigenous ingredients and methods.
Cheers.

Imagine bringing 360 bottles when you can just bring the few you will drink

What do you mean by "don't make it public" Why should people force their beliefs on others?
By the way, they were 3,600 bottles not 360 like you said. And they must have surely belonged to someone's business!!

Alcohol isn't a contraband in Nigeria so why will some foolish people destroy people's business??

There are non Muslims in Northern Nigeria who drink alcohol. Why do you keep forcing your religious beliefs on everyone??
