yodin:From the look of things, you may neva get what you want from the noble profession until you have what it requires. I can bet my life on the fact that no good paying school would invite you for an interview based on your qualifications talkless of considering you for the offer. Bottomline: Be a certified teacher. |
Some peeps are just too dumb, they 'll quote the whole write up just to comment 'kudos'. Please, stop this and be economical. Why won't we face economic recession when people can't even manage pages on Nairaland? |
Hi roomies, I need details on Saint Glorious School, Igando. Their pay, working conditions and other necessary info that could be of help. Thanks! |
I got this from a sis, Adelekan Adedayo and it is worth sharing. Dedicated to all Teachers. A Principal once said. "The Doctor wants his child to become a doctor... The Engineer wants his child to become an engineer... The Businessman wants his ward to become CEO... BUT a teacher also wants his child to become one of them, as well..!! Nobody wants to become a teacher BY CHOICE"... Very sad but that's the truth..!! The dinner guests were sitting around the table discussing life. One man, a CEO, decided to explain the problem with education. He argued, "What's a kid going to learn from someone who decided his best option in life was to become only a teacher?" To stress his point he said to another guest; "You're a teacher, Mrs Sharma. Be honest. What do you make?" Teacher Mrs Sharma, who had a reputation for honesty and frankness replied, "You want to know what I make? (She paused for a second, then began...) "Well, I make kids work harder than they ever thought they could. I make a C+ feel like the Congressional Medal of Honor winner. I make kids sit through 40 minutes of class time when their parents can't make them sit for 5 min. without an I- Pod, Game Cube or movie rental. You want to know what I make? (She paused again and looked at each and every person at the table) I make kids wonder. I make them question. I make them apologize and mean it. I make them have respect and take responsibility for their actions. I teach them how to write and then I make them write. Keyboarding isn't everything. I make them read, read, read. I make them show all their work in math. They use their God given brain, not the man-made calculator. I make my students from other countries learn everything they need to know about India while preserving their unique cultural identity. I make my classroom a place where all my students feel safe. Finally, I make them understand that if they use the gifts they were given, work hard, and follow their hearts, they can succeed in life. (Mrs Sharma paused one last time and then continued.) Then, when people try to judge me by what I make, with me knowing money isn't everything, I can hold my head up high and pay no attention because they are ignorant. You want to know what I make? I MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN ALL YOUR LIVES, EDUCATING KIDS AND PREPARING THEM TO BECOME CEO's, AND DOCTORS AND ENGINEERS... What do you make Mr. CEO? Only money? His jaw dropped; he went silent. THIS IS WORTH SENDING TO EVERY teacher you know . Actually very worth sending again & again - especially to those from other professions who think they are above teachers. If you're proud of this noble profession, hit like and share. |
ted2marv:Can i av your mail addy or phone contact as I'm also in this dilemma right now? Thanks! |
Only a poor man does that. My money will be as that of Dangote hence I can't withdraw everything in my account at a go. |
Shame on Tiwa Savage and Teeblizz for coming to the public to wash their dirty linen when their mates are making marriage enjoyable for themselves. |
Are you invariably saying that Allison Madueke used our money to eat moimoi? Anyway, my grandma use to call it OLE. |
I'm glad you're wise enough to protect ur family from your mum's intrusion. Leave her and let her be, she will soon come to that understanding that you can't be manoeuvred against ur family. Just ensure you keep updating ur dad and other matured family members about her oti-ose demands. |
The truth is_ POLITICS is everywhere. It emanates from the family to school, organizations and the macro society. The negative effects of politics at workplace can never be under-emphasized. This has led to ineffectiveness, inefficiency, dereliction of duty, Nepotism, red-tapism and above all shortages which consequently erupt into liquidation. The bottom-line is that a country's, organization's or society's economic level can never grow/rise beyond it's educational level. These political gladiators at the forefront of our corporate firms got there through the backdoor and they won't leave until replacements are made through same channels and the chain continue. I pray God help us all! |
hartstein:What do you know about education? The fact that you were able to buy a first class cert with dough doesn't mean you're intelligent. Ask the founder of your so called advanced secondary school, he knows better. |
And so? |
And so? Does that justify why 400+ students will graduate with a first class out of 1000 graduands? Private universities are the remote cause of our fall in educational standard. I stand to be corrected! |
successful15:Try to be a good girl first....then, everything will fall in place. You do not need to act in pretence cause things will definitely go south if you're not wat you claim to be. |
MiztaGentle:Yesooo "everyman for himself, God for us all". People don't give a damn about your welfare. Those who ask about how you're doing only want to know if you aren't doing better than them. |
It's a general phenomenon, no one is ready to help you. Do you know why? They feel you're a racing and the last thing they would want is to see you go far higher in life and it shouldn't be. Family and friends that could be of help with good paying jobs will keep storying you because they don't want you near their level talkless of being ahead of them. The day i came to this understanding was the day i started doing fine and my best quote is "everyman for himself, God for us all". |
aforti:Thanks man! |
simpleseyi:A very good one but what's she been called at her workplace? Your name or her father's name? |
mayorkyzo:She's not done the change of name and the applications are very urgent but can't she attach the marriage cert before the availability of the affidavits and newspaper publication? I'm stressing this because I'm more particular about how she's been addressed behind me. Using her father's name means two things: she would either be addressed as miss Anonymous or Mrs Anonymous. The miss is a nono for me while the other option connotes wrong identity(cause she's not married to her father). |
My wife just graduated and wants to start her professional race and I'm supporting her on this. But I'm not satisfied about the arrangement of names on her c.v because she wants to use the surname on her cert(her father's name) while I'm of the opinion she uses the name on her marriage cert(my name). She opines that the name will contradict each other and that might slow down her race as the job market is saturated already, but I'm more concerned about how she's been addressed before, during and after the job hunting phase. Please house, kindly suggest how her names should be arranged in a way that both end of the divide would be protected(professional and marital) Mods, please help as this is urgent. She wants to start sending out her applications today but I've told her to wait till I'm back from my place of work today. So, i need to decide before 5pm today. Thanks! |
Religion has become one of our greatest problem in this part of the world. |
If truly this news is anything to go by, then the APC has just come to trick and fool us. Egohunter:If you've got a problem with my views, try visit the code of conduct tribunal or hug the nearest electric pole. It didn't start today and must your party chanting CHANGE up and down continue what brought us to this level? I won't call you a slowpoke even when you've reacted as one. |

Handling each other's phone isn't bad but checking his phone to nail his ass is unhealthy cos you'll definately get what you're looking for someday. |
True love still exist though, very rare. My definition of true love is 'when a woman loves her man unconditionally when he has nothing while the man loves his woman with her weaknesses when he has everything'. |
Mr researcher, can you please tell us how you conducted your research? The fact that you've slept with some married yoruba women doesn't mean you won't end up being a thunderbolt(magun) victim. |

Drop her and make her friend your latest fiancee since she's also a new catch. Tell her you need a helpmate not a liability, if she queries your decision. |
