Right now u are so down emotionally that it be callous of me 2 add 2 ur sorrow, so I'll try 2 be as "gentle" as possible.

1. What happened 2day was NEITHER ur children's fault NOR d school's fault. Truth be told, I agree with u, it's an ABBERATION 4 ur potential employer 2 ask u 2 do a written test+micro teaching on d same day u submit ur application letter. It's outside d norm. Under normal circumstances we know u SUBMIT ur papers FIRST, while they peruse it and call u (if shortlisted) 4 test/interview at a later date. Probably they were forced 2 do so because dy were behind schedule.
The onus ld on u 2 gently TURN DOWN their request, giving them sincere/genuine reason(s) why d test shld be postponed:
(a) u were not prepared at that point in time because of ur children.
(b) u had other plans lined out 4 today etc.

These are all genuine reasons which a reasonable employer-to-be shld favorably consider!

I blv u "gaulked" it because of ur desperation 4 a job! You felt helpless, I sincerely understand ur plight!

2. Since u didn't complete d test (or did u?), there's no point waiting 4 them o! IMOO, they were just trying 2 be POLITE by giving u d usual cliché: "we'll get back 2 u". If u had completed d test, then it's a different ball game, but in ds case, no foundation/bases 4 dm 2 recall u. It's a VERY VAGUE promise. "Come back so and so date" would've been more soothing/reassuring.

3. WHAT 2 DO ?
Go back 2 dm ASAP tomorrow/next tmr (at d most), apologize and tell dm u are now ready! If they still need ur services (which I blv they do, hence their hastiness), they'll allow u 2 do it IMMEDIATELY or they'll give u a DEFINITE DATE 4 d rescheduled interview!

4. Like u said earlier, what's urs will be urs. Always look @ d brighter side of every circumstances.

In a school with little or no students?? Visionary or not.. I won't advise u venture there..evntho they may "boom soon"...(Soon can take a real long while. Jesus said HE is coming soon).
But if u do not have experience n u r in dire need to jus pick up something then u can take it..(Like warri man go talk, use dat one see front). But if u have experience n u r confident in ur abilities, my brother don't dull urself .last minute signings for new clubs is still on-going. Do urself a favour...make attempts for greener pasture.

This is related to mine...I went for test,interview and micro teaching on Monday in a new school.We were tested on written-oral english,current affairs,mathematics, how to prepare lesson notes,letter writing etc whereby all was done within two hours except interview.From my little observations,probably, I'll be the best candidate from what I saw that I got prior interview viz 39/50 = 78% .Initially, I applied as a subject teacher but due to my performance it's about to be converted to administrative roles because that was what my interview was based on.

My question now is do you think I can be employed as headmaster or deputy headmaster as the case may be due to my presumed startling performance?

Is it advisable to pick up a job with a new school that has little or no students at d moment, though d skul is visionary and in no distance time the skul wil boom.
From the look of things, there is 80% assurance dt d mgt has saved up some cash 4 d running cost(salary, rents, bills n other miscellaneous expenses).
There's room for individual devt and great exposition in d new skul. The skul pay is 31.25% higher than his current pay, but his scared they don't come up with flimsy excuses when there's delay in payment.
He's at crossroad either to pick up d offer or not.
Please help a brother.

We need info abt Peacegate College. Anybody with an idea of d skul salary package, working conditions, accomodatn and management style shd please say a thing or two.

ADVICE NEEDED PLEASE!!! I went for an interview today in a school as a Chemistry and maths/physics teacher and after a written test we went in one after the other for the oral interview.I felt i did well in the interview and at the end I was asked my desired pay.I asked them to pay me according to their pay structure but they insisted i name my price.I gave them a range of 40-50k and they put my minimum pay as 40k.The problem now is that am not satisfied with 40k as my pay cos after my calculations the left over after deduction of T fare and other miscellaneous is about 30K.I felt I should have raised the bar a little.I already have another school near where I live that will pay me 25k and I will be a little bit free to apply for other jobs and go for other interviews compared to the other school....WHAT DO I DO NOW?

When they invite u to take up d job, just tell them u aren't taking up d minimum pay, dat u want to go by ur max i.e 50k, u shd knw wat 2 do if they can't afford it. But, try n consider oda factors aside d salary oo.

D test/ interview is always a general one conducted for both pry n secondary skuls 4 d two campuses, oke aregba campus and Osiele campus.
D test is always a current affairs based questns with essays. U can't run away frm essay writing, atleast 1.
The skul pays btw 25 - 28k.
Prompt salary payment, good working conditions but poor welfare package 4 d staff.

Folarin Dalley is beside Federal Secretariat, opp Governor's office, same for buckswood, along that axis too.
Try Taidob College at Asero, Paragon College too(though a friend's complainin of d skul poor welfare package 4 d staff) just continue d submissn and be optimistic.

Try Alaba Lawson opp Simeon Adebo Library, giv Folarin Dalley a try and probably Buckswood beside Tradefair, though they operate british curriculum. Just try skuls around u. Would av given u some skuls tøo,but ur location isn't favourable.
