A female indigene of Abia State has narrated her ordeal with a Personnel of the Nigerian Navy at a Navy checkpoint of the Owerrinta axis. The young lady who pleaded anonymous stated that she was harassed, threatened and denied her smart phone which she newly purchased with over a hundred thousand naira, Igbere TV reports.

According to her, she had on Thursday, 7th October 2021, boarded a motorcycle which was heading towards Okpoala before she bumped into the security personnel standing with a riffle at a checkpoint in between Imo and Abia State.

"As a normal routine, I and the bike man went down from the bike just to cross the checkpoint on foot. The bike man dragged his bike while I follow suit with my phone inside my pocket .

"At this point, my phone rang and I decided to bring it off my pocket to know who was calling me . I have always used this route so I know I can't take calls until I cross the bitter looking armed Navy security operative.

"Unfortunately, the dark lanky and tall Fulani Navy personnel concluded that I was taking a picture of him which was totally a lie . My phone was ringing out loud and so it was totally impossible for me to be taking pictures same time.

"These I tried explaining to him, but he hurriedly snatched the phone off me and smashed it countless times on the tarred road. Looking at the already pieced phone with tears in my eyes, I pleaded to have at least my sim cards, but the wicked soul instead picked the smashed phone and threw it into the nearby river", she said.

"I'm highly pained because my smart phone is my livelihood, I earn my living with it and that's why I don't joke with it" , she added.

Nigerian singer Seyi Shay has accused rival Tiwa Savage of placing a curse on her that she will not have a child, Igbere TV reports.

In an audio obtained by Pulse Nigeria on Tuesday, the Nigerian Idol judge recounted how both women almost came to fisticuff at a salon in Lekki, Lagos.

A video of the two women clashing and exchanging swear words had earlier gone viral on Tuesday.

According to Seyi, she was at the salon to get her hair done for her Idol’s appearance on Sunday, June 13.

The 35-year-old said she felt tension in the salon and decided to walk over to say hi to Tiwa and they both exchanged pleasantries.

However, 20 minutes later, Seyi said Savage walked over to her and that was how the argument started.

Shay revealed she was shocked by the unexpected outburst stressed that Savage’s beef with her was not about the #FvckYouChallenge verse she recorded in April 2019 as she confirmed that they have met each other more than twice since her #FvckYouChallenge and they exchanged pleasantries on all occasions.

“We’ve even entered private jet together, we’ve taken pictures together,” Seyi said.

Former beauty queen Helen Prest-Ajayi on Monday marked one year anniversary of the death of her partner Tosin Ajayi, Igbere TV reports.

Ajayi died at St Nicholas Hospital, Lagos on April 26, 2020.

“Yes it’s one year already! Unbelievable As I write, all the hackneyed expressions come to mind. ‘Death is a great leveller’, ‘concrete overcoat’, ‘It’s like yesterday’, ‘time waits for no-one’, ‘how time flies…,’” she wrote.

Ajayi, founder of First Foundation Medical Centre, was buried 10 months after his death. The delay was caused by a legal battle launched by his estranged widow Yemisi and her five children.

Ajayi got married to Yemisi, a retired chief nursing officer with the Lagos State Government, more than four ddecades ago but the couple separated after 23 years.

He subsequently went into a relationship with Helen, and the two had a daughter together.

Although Ajayi and his first wife were separated, they were not divorced until the time of his death.

Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie lkpeazu says his administration is gradually fulfilling all its election promises to Abians, Igbere TV reports.

The Governor stated this while featuring live on a Channels Television programme Sunday night. He said Abians were happy with him over what he has done in Aba in terms of road infrastructure which are there for people to see.

He firther said he sees governance beyond building of roads and payment of salaries pointing out that before he leaves office in 2023, he must have written his name in gold based on what his administration will leave behind.

On agitations by members of the Indigenous Peoples Of Biafra (IPOB), Governor Ikpeazu said “Some of the issues raised by IPOB are valid and need to be addressed”.

He maintained that Abia remains one of the safest states in the federation and remarked that his administration has a robust system that has helped to protect lives and property.

The state chief executive also revealed that his administration mainstreams employment, strengthening small and medium enterprises, invests in promotion of Made-in-Aba concept, as well as trains and established the automated shoe/garment factory in Aba, in addiction to fixing roads in the commercial nerve centre of the state.

Speaking further on security, the governor advocated for the establishment of state police to assist the governors adequately tackle the dynamism of modern crime system in the states, and reiterated his support for the creation of a regional security outfit by the southeast governors.

The Abia State helmsman who said he has no reason leaving the PDP because Abians are comfortable in PDP, called on the federal government to focuss on those things that promote unity and cohesion through its actions and conduct.

He condemned the recent attacks on security formations and kiling of police personnel and urged the federal government to ensure that those institutions targeted by the hoodlums are adequately protected.

At least five vehicles have been involved in an accident overnight at Otedola Bridge inwards Berger Area on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Igbere TV reports.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) said in a tweet on Saturday that two tankers, a trailer and two cars were involved in the accidents.

A video shared by LASTMA on Twitter shows the trailer collapsed on its side and burning, while one of the tankers involved in the accident was only burnt on its rear side.

The video was captioned:

“An overnight multiple accidents at Otedola bridge inwards Berger, involving 2 tankers, a trailer and 2 cars, while @LAG_FireService, @followlasema, @PoliceNG and @followlastma are on ground for evacuation.

“It is affecting traffic backwards Motorway-7up to Alapere presently. Motorists are advised to use CMD Rd, 7up area to link Olowopo and Gbagada respectively.”

The fire caused by the accidents has been put out, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service said.

It, however, said seven vehicles were involved in the accidents.

“The Fire involving Seven Vehicles at the Otedola Bridge area has been doused by @LagosRescue as mop-up is being concluded now with @lasemasocial,” the Service tweeted.

A bomb explosion at Umuola Hall Ward 8 in Aba, Abia State on Saturday, has sent many voters to panic mode.

The explosion occured during the commencement of voting exercise in the state.

Alaafin of Oyo Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III has presented a car to journalist Sanni Agboola, Igbere TV reports.

A statement on Thursday posted to Instagram said the monarch presented the car to Mr Agboola despite the heavy downpour in Ibadan.

Also at the presentation were two queens – Aishat Adeyemi and Memunat Adeyemi.
