The Federal Government has mapped out N10 billion as Trader Moni loan to petty traders and artisans in the 2020 fiscal year, IgbereTV reports.

The loan is part of the social intervention programmes under President Muhammadu Buhari led administration.

According to IgbereTV reports, N10 billion was allocated to BOI as ‘Grants to BOI to support low interest loan to SMEs’. This was contained in the 2020 Appropriation Bill signed into law on Monday by the President.

The Federal Government, through the Bank of Industry (BOI) provides interest free and collateral free loan to petty traders and artisans, under the Trader Moni micro credit scheme. The loan ranges from N10, 000 to N100,000 per beneficiary.

According to the Trader Moni guidelines, the first loan to an individual is N10,000. Upon payment of the first loan, the individual qualifies for a higher amount. The maximum amount allowed is N100,000.

The Ologbaaga of Ogbaaga in Osun State, Oba Ekanade Ajani Amusan JP, has disclosed why he opted for a self exile outside his domain stressing that to reign in the town now would cause bloodshed because of some criminal elements imported to the community

Oba Amusan in a press statement yesterday pleaded to the government of Osun state to formally regularise all matters relating to the stool of Ologbaaga of Ogbaaga in the interest of peace , justice and equity.

"The town is marginalised by the powers that be that wanted to colonise Ogbaaga because of our land which they erroneously regarded as no man's land "Oba Amusan alleged..

"Ogbaaga is the largest and oldest community in the old Egbedore District Council of 1947 and the present Ayedaade local government,he said

He described as untrue ,the claim in certain quarters that the royal throne in Ogbaaga is vacant adding "From all records available ,I am the recognized Ologbaaga of Ogbaaga by the state and Ayedaade local governments which have been paying my salary over years"

He debunked a publication that crisis is brewing in the town explaining that security agents consisting of Police and DSS have warned criminal elements against threatening peace and security of his community.

The monarch also described as untrue , the story flying about that the name of one contestant has been forwarded to the state government stressing that he has been on government pay roll over years.

The Ologbaaga disclosed that it was also untrue that one of the aspirants had approached the Akire of Ikire for an (aspirant',s) endorsement as Ologbaaga of Ogbaaga.

Oba Amusan said that a criminal suit has been filed in magistrate court at Ikire where a man is standing trial for parading himself as the Oba of Ogbaaga adding that the suspect is on bail on liberal terms on the prayer of his counsel and his trial has been adjourned.

The monarch emphasised that Ogbaaga has a large expanse of land prompting many undeserved people to aspire to the throne of Oloogbaaga at all costs.

He commended the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) for Zone 11,Mr.Leye Oyebade who , he disclosed , has taken over the issue from the state command with a warning to all parties to keep peace or face the full weight of law.

The Police in Osun State on Thursday arraigned a 62-year-old man, Michael Oyelowo Oladeji at a Magistrate Court in Ikire for allegedly parading himself as a traditional ruler in the state.

The Prosecuting counsel, Oladiran Ayodele told the court that the accused person claimed that he is the traditional ruler of Ogbaaga, Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun State whereas the state government recognised Oba Ekanade Ajani Amusan as the real monarch.

Ayodele said the action of the accused person could cause breach of peace and that he committed offences that contravened Sections [b]516, 517, 484 and 249 (D) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Volume II, Laws of Osun State Nigeria 2002.

Oladeji pleaded not guilty and his counsel, J. E Adeboye sought his bail in most liberal terms with assurance that his client would make himself available for the trial.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr A.A Ayeni granted him bail and adjourned the case till July 24 for continuation of the matter. Meanwhile, outside the court room, some people believed to be indigenes of Ogbaaga came to the court to display their love and demonstrate their support for the accused person as their preferred traditional ruler.

Oba Ekanade Amusan while brandishing the photo of Oladeji who dressed like an Oba hinted Daily Trust that the accused person wanted to use the position of Oba to sell the vast land the town is blessed with.
