stoicism: bros so German will not be taught in English.....? But does Goethe teaches in English? And like how much in Bremen? No, they teach you in English in Goethe cos naija guys speaks English. German is taught in German here. |

victz: Bros, Know it today that no matter how brilliant you are you cannot teach yourself when it comes to learning a foreign language that is completely new to you. Even some of us that had the opportunity to attend Goethe one time or the other still find it difficult learning the language on our own. Most of our teachers at Goethe institute used to tell us back then that it is easier to learn German in Nigeria than learning it in Germany, but up till today I still believe that the statement is false. The reason is this; Our German starts at Goethe and ends in Goethe when we get home we have no one to speak with us. Even in the office we have no one to speak with us. So learning German in an English speaking environment was a challenge to me. I don't know about others. There is nothing like learning German in a German speaking environment. And again academic brilliance does not transcend German language brilliance. Some people may not be that gifted academically but may be very good in language learning. While some maybe very brilliant academically but may not be that good when it comes to language learning. My own conclusion on this issue if for you to attend Goethe institute or any other private language school if you still have the time. Self study can never be the same as leaning the language from those who knows how to write and speak the language. I CONCURR. i am in Germany so it is true that learning German is easier in naija than here WHY: Bcause in Naija you are taught with English. e.g They will tell you Orangen shaft means orange juice. But here they tell you orangen shaft and does not tell you what it means in English so you get lost. Why? There are different people with different laguages learning it in same class with you. e.g french speakers, spanish. brazil, italian etc. other reason? Your german teacher here does not speak English. |

FOR the person asking how much for a child, this is my cousin communication with the Embassy. This will help many people
Dear Madam,
thank you for your inquiry.
The lump rate for a child of the age of under 6 years is 235 EUR per month, so for the first year of your stay this would make 2820 EUR. However, please note that the Consulate does not make the final decision on the funding of the stay but this decision is usually made by the Aliens Authority (Ausländerbehörde) of the city where you intend to live. Therefore, I would highly recommend you to get in touch with the Aliens Authority in order to double-check.
Thank you for your understanding.
Sincerely yours,

Cindino20: My advise to everyone includin Takeastep...quitely go for public Insurance baba...if u re under 30 u will contribute abt 81.50euros a mth...the advantages re far more than private insurance...
Disadvantages of Private Insurance...
1.if you visit the hospital..u get to pay ur bill fitst and then get partial refund from ur insurance coy...very tricky and the health care cost is high..a friend of mine once vsiited a Dr. And complained of abdominal pains only for the doc to just examine him, gave him pain relievers and then referred him to the general hospital again nothin was diagnosed and he was asked to take same drugs he received from the former doc....and my friend recieved abt 120euros for the first doc( Dr.Pain .....) and abt 140 for the second one...He had to pay and then file a claim with his insurance company..save urself this headache...yes pple will argue that Nigerians don't fall ill yes I agree I barely visit the clinic ( except when I ve "wicklo" caused by bittin my nails out of boredom or being tensed..u wont believe..I had to do an Xray and a minor sugery for that , If I was usin a private Insurance coy I would ve been done with financially cos I did same minor surgery twice within 6mths.. ) ....to be on the safer side just go with the govt insurance .
2. Some employers will not employ u with private insurance ( e.g Amazon)..they will ask u to get a new insurance contract before u get the job and they will pay for it...
3.In some uni...e.g Bochum and Bonn Rhein seig or so ...they prefer and encourage student to use govt insurance ...Aok..Tk..etc.
4.Dependin on ur job contract..at times u can file for payment of sick leave from Ur Krankenkasse (health Insurance coy) ..well I really dont know hw this works and if its applicable to students...I guess it will be after 6weeks of sick leave the krankenkasse will step in and pay for sick leave..( Prolong illness)..well I dont wish this for anyone..but again we live in a world when nothing is certain.
Disadvantage of Govt Insurance....
Cost...the difference is abt 40 euros a mth....
Think and choose wisely
All the best pple.
Modified...Emirates airline use to ve cheap flights then...U can also check Airmaroc or use opodo.com to check for cheap flights...... Not all private insurance. try care concept and you will love it here |

michlan: Hello, i'm new to this forum and i've read some past pages. I'm planning on applying for masters against next year winter. Finished service in June 2014.
My major concern is how to go with a spouse and the amount needed in the blocked account. Also, is it advisable to apply for both of us by march when the admission would come out or I should apply for myself alone? This is because my wedding would be coming up by August 2016 and there's no tie to prove the relationship till then. Or should I go ahead with my own application and process for my spouse after the wedding. I will appreciate your responses. Thanks

Undergrad tuition is contigent on a number of factors but If you are going for postgrad, with the right profile, you may not even have to pay a dime.
Let us know your profile and your choice location of study and you will get the best advice. Undergraduate. Location will determine where i get the most affordable tuition. |

porlo87: Hello All,
1st Application
Applied: March 27 Biometrics: Apr 8 Refused: May 14
Application Details I'm on the board of directors of a family company, my eldest brother is the MD and sole signatory of the account, He transferred a very decent amount of money to my account for this study project, so i wrote in my SOP that the company is sponsoring by virtue of being a director and that i will return to take active position in the company. I mentioned that the company transferred an initial sum of money into my account (I attached the bank statement). I attached the company documents in the application showing them my directorship and all, I showed them minutes of the board resolution stating how a director will be sent for a study leave so a to develop the company. Additionally, as a director I have been receiving a decent director's allowance monthly for about years into that same personal account ( I even attached the pay-slips).
Refusal Notice:
As an applicant for a study permit, you must establish that your intentions are bona fide and that you will leave Canada by the end of the period authorized for your stay. You must satisfy an officer that you will not contravene the conditions of admission and that you do not belong in a category of persons inadmissible to Canada under the Act. You must satisfy an officer that you will meet the requirements of Part 12 of the Regulations, including satisfying the officer that you have adequate financial resources to pay tuition fees and support your stay in Canada.
Additional factors mentioned;
You have not satisfied me that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay. In reaching this decision, I considered several factors, including:
your travel history
your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence
purpose of visit
your personal assets and financial status.
WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE, BRETHREN. It was too good to beleive and yet it was true. Re-package and re-fire. Dont give up and dont blame them cos them don too see many arrangee and well planned docus and every application is a suspect except they are really satisfied |

And if you found anything insulting in my post, then you need to get off your self-acclaimed right of entitlement and work harder for what you want; nobody owes you the benefit of "giving you fish". You better learn how to fish for yourself. Elder indeed Learn how to talk with good manner of approach. Truth is bitter. mrnilobrawn: U still dont get the creteria for admissions. Go back to ur school website and check the requirments for admission into ur program. Relevant Bachelor degree or its equivalent.
For qualify for admission into master, u must have atleast 12O credit units from ur undergraduate. U will be surprise to hear my total credit units stated on my evaluation cert from WES. So those Canadians wit just diploma or advance diploma with out P.Eng status dont work in Engineering sectors huh? Naija mentallity. Talking about small school and big school... Is University of Ottawa a small school? Is University of New Brunswick a small school? Is University of Saskatchewan a small school? I hav a frnd who finished M.Eng in University of Alberta with HND from Yabatech, oh thats a small school too right? He is not a P.Eng and he works with an oil company in Alberta region. Dont know his job position tho. Oh bad for u, he did'nt return to naija.
Ppl wit ur mindset should'nt even b in Canada in d first place.
Oh u can aswell list the name of big school u attend... Where is your evidence. Anybody can cook up any story. |
Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by Futurewiser: 6:00pm On May 25, 2015 |
Solo8: I hope you jumped on the offer of admission because I really think those schools did not know what HND was, since we don't have that here. I've never heard of this happening before. I just think they offered it to you thinking it is equivalent, they love international students because you pay double of what we pay, so those smaller school will be quick to offer your a masters entrance so as to boost up their graduate dept (this matters a lot to the prestige of this school, the more graduate students you have the better)
The school's don't set the minimum when it comes to Engineering, The CEAB (canadian engineering accreditation board) sets it. If the school messes up they risk having their accreditation withdrawn, if that happens then your degree is pretty much worthless. You'll never be able to get your P.ENG license and nobody will hire you. (When you get finish your bachelor's you get your iron ring, if you dont have an iron ring, you are not an engineer). I've not heard of one case where even people with advance diploma gets an entrance into M.Eng. Its not just your transcript, you need a certain number of hours to qualify to for a B.Eng (or B.Sc in Eng), doesn't matter what courses you took. If you don't have those hours you can not qualify for your bachelors. That's why most schools don't offer engineering coarses in the summer, because they simple can't give the students the minimum amount of hours. A 2 or 3 yr program doesn't let you get those hours.
Every school I have came across needs a minimum of a bachelor's to get into a masters engineering program, my school for instance needs to have at least a B average in your undergrad.
I'm not saying you are lying. I'm just telling you what I know since I am in the engineering field. Maybe try your luck and apply to those school's nilobrown applied to, you might have the same luck and get in. If you get in, take your masters, go back to naija and enjoy!. We shouldn't be too quick to believe all information that seems not possible. |

Ay002: Hello Everybody,
You guys have been doing a gr8 job here.
I will appreciate your response to this..
I was admitted to a school in the US for my Msc last year through an Agent, I gave him all my Academic and Personal Details and he got me the offer without writing GRE or TOEFL , i went for my visa interview at the US embassy and got the Visa, i used my father SOA. I left Nigeria for the US, while going the agent gave me a copy of the online form he submitted to the school and i kept it in my bag. He also helped me with the flight scheduling. My school is in Texas and he got me an Etihad booking to New york, he said when i get to New york, i should take a bus or Flight to Texas. I left Nigeria, and we got to Abu Dhabi to be connected to a flight to New york. On getting to the immigration Zone, i gave my Passport and I-20 to them, they took it in for like an hour, when the finally came back, i saw them coming with my luggage, i was called into a room for questioning, and i told them my father is sponsoring me and all, She asked me why i did not go to Texas Straight, i said this is the flight i got and am planning to take a bus or connecting flight to Texas. They told me to open my bag, and they searched everything, they saw my credentials, Past work experience, past award and birth certificate, and he asked me what i was going to do with my credentials since i am going for studies and have the plans of coming back.
He spotted the copy of the Online Application my Agent gave to me and went through it, after she asked me who is my sponsor and i told him my father, he asked the SOA i used at the embassy and i told him my fathers SOA, he then asked me who is Igbokwe Samuel and i told him i dont know. He showed me the Online application i submitted, my agent submitted another persons name and SOA to get me the offer and i was immediately disorganized knowing its a big problem.
He asked me if i wrote GRE or TOEFL to get the offer and i said no, he asked me how much have paid from my tuition and i said nothing. Then he said he is not convinced am going to study, that probably running away to work.
She pointed our three things against me.
1. My school is in Texas and i took a flight going to New york, which is the first suspicious alarm.
2. My birth Certificate and Credentials were with me.
3. I used different sponsor to get offer and different to get visa, which is wrong.
My Visa was cancelled and admission withdrawn and also denied entry, he told me to go back home, get another I-20, pay my part tuition, then i will be allowed in. I was so sad and discouraged on getting back and just decided not to go back.
My Que now is.. I got an admission in a school in Canada and i want to start my TRV process, hope my US traveling history wont affect my applicatio? I heard Canada and US share immigration information.
Please i need your urgent response. No be ordinary hand. You need deliverance. i must tell you the truth if not tht same thing go dey follow u to Canada too. |
