PoliticsRe: Ribadu Takes A First Jab At Jonathan----"resign Now, He Says"! by fxmaxony(m): 6:13am On Jan 29, 2011
Ribadu! Ribadu! Ribadu!

After your trip to International community when you left office due to the way Umaru Government treated you, you never learned to play politics in the way international community plays it.

Few questions for Ribadu,

1. why did you wait until you became a presidential aspirant before making this statement?
2. Did this thing not happen when you were romancing with this same government that facilitated your return and eventual dropping of charges    against you?

3. why were there sacred cows under Obasanjo regime when you held power as the anti corruption Czar?
4.Must we make unneccessary case in politics before we establish our selves?

I know some one might be thinking I support corruption, but i know I don't and will never. but we can do better.

How many Nigerians have access to 3.5G network? I struggle like most people with slow Internet speed and all that is needed is the regulatory body (NCC) to issue ultimatum to the service providers to roll out 3.5G service in all parts of Nigeria and they will obey and therein give back to the masses good service for their money.

See 3.5G service places in Ghana as at the time of posting and we say proudly that we are the Giant of Africa:

MTN 3.5G service is available in Accra, Tema, Kumasi, Takoradi, Tarkwa, Bogoso, Ho, Koforidua, Cape Coast, Kasoa, Winneba, Tamale, Sunyani, Kenyasi, Techiman, Obuasi, Bolgatanga, Wa, Prestea, Damine, Ntoroso, Bibiani, Besomtwi, Bekwai, Aflao, Chirano and still counting.

If I am not wrong 3.5G is in only three Cities in Naija.

Start petitioning here for a change in this regards. Internet is the bedrock of Civilization.

Politics"mama" Ayoka Adebayo Will Face Electoral Fraud Prosecution by fxmaxony(op): 7:25am On Dec 14, 2010
Do you remember the former INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner [REC] in
Ekiti State, Mrs Ayoka Adebayo who resigned from office last week? INEC
chairman Prof. Attahiru Jega has said it is not yet Uhuru for her.

Mrs Adebayo was the INEC resident electoral commissioner in Ekiti State when
the governorship re-run election was fraudulently rigged in favour of Segun Oni’
s led Peoples Democratic Party [PDP's] in the state.

Jega who fielded questions from participants at a one day workshop on
''Promoting Good Governance and Citizens Access to Public Policies'' put
together for civil society organizations and professional groups in Abuja
yesterday said that under his watch, INEC now has a silent revolution going on
where by all the commission's staff who conducted elections that are later
voided by courts, would face prosecution.

This inquisition will however not include those conducts and electoral offences
that were upturned by election tribunals or law courts before the coming on
board of his [Jega's] regime.

The INEC Chairman said he prefers a silent war against the Commission's staff
that failed in their duties rather than celebrate such cleansing campaign on the
pages of newspapers.

His words, ''certainly we are doing a lot but we are doing it quietly. What we have
done as a new commission, we said we are not going to go back to 2007, to
start investigating who has done what and to begin to penalize people''.

''But we said we will start from the court judgments that have been given since
we came in as a new commission. So all those court judgments that have given
since we came in as a new commission, if they have indicted people either by
name or office, we have commenced investigations and we have commenced
the process of addressing those problems''.

''Many of them, we declare the electoral offences they have committed and we
will prosecute them. This is the way we are doing it. It is an effort of in-house
cleaning and we are doing it. It is not something that you engage in the public''.

He added that ''everybody now knows that the resident Electoral Commissioner
in Ekiti, who was posted to Ondo State, has resigned. So it is all part of that
process. First of all, we rely on solid ground, we have judgments that have
indicted people and depending on the level of indictment, we proceed with what
to do in order to address the situation. It is better than fighting the battle on the
pages of newspapers which is what Nigerians want us to do''

In another development, the Chairman of Independent National Electoral
Commission Prof. Attahiru Jega  has said there will no ``sacred cow'' in
prosecuting electoral offences in next year’s  general elections

Speaking at a National Dialogue entitled ``Toward an Inclusive and Participatory
2011 election'' organised by the Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC) in
collaboration with INEC, Jega insisted that the commission will not condone
impunity.

His words "the commission will be very serious about dictating electoral offences,
certainly with evidence and prosecuting electoral offenders no matter how high
or how low they are."

I am an Ibo man and quite in the know of the fact that the ohaneze decision is not going to affect my voting. I am voting Jonathan because He is only but better than the candidates the northerners are fielding.

The day we stand up as youth as true nigerian, the sky will be our stepping stone.

I am an Ibo, and do not stand for Ibo President, south south president, Oduduwa or stuffs like that, but when will our votes count to enable us vote a true Nigerian Leader, and when Shall we have true federalism.

fxmaxony:
But on Tuesday, with both Henry and Charles Okah in detention, a third statement signed Jomo Gbomo was sent from the same Yahoo! email account, repeating the threat of an attack.

It was the most political yet, warning people to stay away from campaign rallies organised by President Goodluck Jonathan.

"We hereby repeat our warnings to the residents of Abuja, the heart of the country, and to all persons who will be interested in attending the political campaign organised by the president," the statement said.

"This is due to the split he has initiated in our country that had enjoyed a united front politically, and the corruption and split in the Niger Delta community."
With these, people are still doubting that these blasts are political.
PoliticsIndependence Day Bomb Blasts: Nigeria Nets Bomb Suspects by fxmaxony(op): 6:56am On Oct 20, 2010
ABUJA (Reuters) - Nigeria's secret service said on Tuesday it had caught five suspects believed to have coordinated and carried out car bombings in the capital, but the militant group which claimed responsibility warned of more attacks.

The State Security Service (SSS) said it would press charges against five people over the October 1 blasts including the brother of suspected militant leader Henry Okah, on trial in South Africa for conspiracy and terrorism over the bombings.

The attacks and the subsequent reaction by the authorities have raised tensions in Africa's most populous nation as it prepares for presidential elections next year, set to be the most fiercely contested for more than a decade.

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) claimed responsibility for the Abuja blasts, which killed at least 10 people, in a statement emailed to news organisations and signed "Jomo Gbomo", a pseudonym it has used in the past.

Henry Okah, thought by security sources to have provided weapons to MEND and to have planned some of its attacks in the past, has denied involvement.

His brother, Charles Okah, was arrested in Nigeria's commercial hub Lagos on Saturday after another warning signed Jomo Gbomo was emailed to news organisations stating that a fresh bomb attack was planned for Abuja.

"Charles Tombra Okah, one of the known users of the name 'Jomo Gbomo', and four other suspects will be charged to court," SSS spokeswoman Marilyn Ogar said in a statement.

BOMBING WAS PLANNED IN PORT HARCOURT

The SSS said the October 1 car bombs had been rigged up in Port Harcourt, the main city in the oil producing Niger Delta, before being driven to the capital where they were detonated near an independence day parade.

The secret service said it had identified the owner of the Port Harcourt residence where the vehicles used in the bombings were wired, as well as the person whom it said had co-ordinated the attacks with Henry Okah.

It said it had also identified the person who arranged for the vehicles to be driven to Abuja and the suspect who confirmed the operation had been a success after the blasts.

Nigeria is a generally peaceful country of more than 200 ethnic groups but regional rivalries and tribalism bubble under the surface, and the bombings and subsequent response by the authorities have become highly politicised.

MEND's claim of responsibility is an embarrassment for Jonathan, the first head of state from the Niger Delta who brokered an amnesty with militants in the region last year.

His assertion that MEND's name was used as a cover by criminals, as well as the brief detention of the campaign manager for his main election rival, former military ruler Ibrahim Babangida, led opponents to accuse him of partisanship.

"During the course of investigations, several Nigerians were interviewed and released," Ogar said. "We plead with Nigerians to desist from politicising the issue as such tendencies remain a serious concern to the SSS because they promote insecurity."
