There was a drama at the EFCC headquarters this afternoon while former Ekiti state Governor Ayodele Fayose arrived the Building, along with an unexpected guest.

Spotted with him was Femi Fani Kayode who presented himself a his Lawyer.

FFK is not just a Former minister, he had practiced in Nigeria after bagging a LL.B from the School of Oriental and African Studies and also have his Masters degree from Cambridge University.

The claims that he was a qualified legal practitioner to represent the former governor prompted the operatives of the commission to let him in.

While going in, Fani-Kayode joked with the EFCC operatives that he ought to be allowed unto the premises at any time having spent 90 non-consecutive days in the custody of the commission in 2016.

“I am a regular customer here. You should know me by now,” he joked.

Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), who has been representing Fayose in court since his recent case with the EFCC began, also took three lawyers from his chambers into the EFCC before leaving.

The family of a commercial motorcyclist, Abraham Agbo, has called for the sanction of a police sergeant, Pius Okwor, who allegedly assaulted the rider over N50 bribe.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Okwor allegedly used his baton to hit Abraham in the eyes for refusing to give him N50 bribe.

It was gathered that Abraham who took two passengers was accosted by Okwor and his team at a checkpoint on Ezzangbo/Essium Road in Ebonyi State on October 11 and demanded a bribe which Abraham refused to give him.

Abraham’s brother, Isaac Agbo, who spoke with PUNCH Metro, noted that Okwor was fond of extorting money and assaulting riders plying the route.

He said, “When the policemen realised that they had injured my brother, they fled the scene.

“Sympathisers, however, put my brother on the motorcycle and chased the policemen to their station at the Ohaukwu Police Division.

“They met the DPO and explained what happened to him, he showed his displeasure at the officer and ordered him to take my brother to a hospital.

“But we want the officer to be removed or punished as he is fond of extorting money and assaulting people plying that route.”

Isaac, who said that Abraham was taken to the Federal Teaching Hospital in Abakaliki, noted that one of his eyes was affected by the assault.

He noted that Okwor had not paid the hospital bills, adding that the family had spent all their savings on Abraham’s treatment.

He said he had reported the incident to the police Whatsapp channel and was told that investigation would be carried out.

All effort to contact the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Loveth Odah, proved abortive as calls put across to her phone number was not answered and a text message sent to the number had yet to be replied to as of press time.

Kenyan police have arrested a popular Machakos-based millionaire witchdoctor believed to be part of a car theft syndicate. .

Annah Mutheu was arrested at her palatial home in Tala, Machakos County, following an operation by Flying Squad officers that lasted fifteen hours. .

The more than 30 heavily armed officers led by Flying Squad boss Musa Yego, stormed the herbalist's residence at 11pm on Monday and left at midday on Tuesday. .

Speaking to journalists after the raid, Yego said: “We found engines, gear boxes and 130 national identity cards of different persons in the house. .

We find it interesting that the IDs were found here and we are still investigating the circumstances under which they found their way here.”

The police boss said 'Dr Mutheu' is believed to be the head of a syndicate that steals vehicles from all corners of the country and later sells them to unsuspecting buyers at cheaper prices.

The Ondo State University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa, says one of its lecturers, Prof. Adegboyega Obadofin, has died in a fire incident at his residence.

The Vice-Chancellor of OSUSTECH, Prof. Sunday Ogunduyile, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Okitipupa that the university authorities had reported the matter to the Police to ascertain the cause of the fire.

Ogunduyile said that the fire was said to have occurred about 1:0 AM on Tuesday at the deceased’s residence in Ayeka area of Okitipupa.

He said that neighbours confirmed to him that there was no public power supply, nor was the late professor’s generator working when the incident occurred.

The vice chancellor said that Obadofin, 65, was the Acting Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at the university.

“I was in great shock when I visited the late don’s home.

“His death is a great loss, not just to his faculty, but to the entire institution at large.

“The management, lecturers, students, workers and everyone will greatly miss him,” Ogunduyile said.

He described the deceased, whose family resides in Lagos, as a friendly person, a gentleman and a hardworking person whose vacuum will be difficult to fill.

Ogunduyile also prayed for the repose of Obadofin’s soul and that God gives the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

NAN reports that Obadofin’s body has been deposited at the State Specialist Hospital morgue in Okitipupa.
