Being an Android user for over a year now, I felt the need to make a list of applications you should never miss out on your new(or old) Android phone. My list includes the very apps that keeps my own Android phone rocking and rocking.

Z-Player

The best music player so far on Android. Plays mp3, aac, wav, ogg and other sound encodings. I love Z-player for the it’s simple, yet cool features that it offers. It automatically downloads lyrics,album arts, background picture for music files without any of these. Z-player can also play Videos and movies but I only love to use it for playing songs.
And oh, Z-player comes with headphone control &madsh; it stops playing once you unplug the headphones and starts playing when you swipe them in again — cool for saving you from embarrassment when that faulty headphone of yours mistakenly pulls out when you are in a public bus.


Mx Player

Another application for playing multimedia files. Mx player can play music files well but it’s main specialty is in playing videos and watching movies. This sick application can zoom videos, resume playback even after you switch off you phone. This app is truly a must-have.

X-plore

You definitely ought to have this File Manager on your Android phone if you need to actually take control of your files. This app let’s you move, copy, backup, edit, compress, unzip, files and folders on your Android phone. I am not a new user of X-plore, used it since the early days of smartphones on my old Symbian Nokia 6600
As far as am know, X-plore is the best file manager on mobile.

Opera Mini Browser

Seamless browser that lets you enjoy a really speedy browsing experience on your Android phone while saving you lots of data — as it receives WEB data in encrypted, compressed format. Opera Mini can also synchronize your bookmarks between devices too.

SwiftKey

Ever feel like typing away on your phone without any mistakes even though you are typing so fast and there should be typos all over your sentences?
Well, this app is for you. Swiftkey auto-corrects your silly typing mistakes as you type away so fast. It even guesses( correctly most times) the next word you are about to type and saves you time you could use for our next app.

Angry Birds


This is a game that has been dubbed “the second most popular thing that originated from Finland apart from Nokia”. Believe it or not, you need Angry Birds on your phone. Angry Birds is quite good for clearing your head when you are upset after reading that text from your friend. It’s also very good for passing time whenever you are super bored.

Google Voice

Sick application from Google that lets you “talk to your mobile”. Google voice helps you search for files, apps on your device, make Google searches, with just you talking to the your Android phone.

Maildroid

This app offers everything else your default Android e-mail viewer doesn’t, in a very cool way.

Dx or Du Battery Saver

The only thing this app does for me is to show my exact battery level — which is pretty much important for me.

Avast! Mobile Security

As you know Avast is good for securing your device from trojans, viruses and other threats. The Android version also comes with Firewall, very good for securing your browsing experience.

Your phone charger might be a slow charger or a fast one. If you charge your phones with fast chargers, you will definitely enjoy charging phones in this epileptic power nation.

Now here is a simple visual physics experiment that you can do even now to know whether your phone charger is a slow or fast charger.

Pick up that your charger now and look at the output power ratings; if you see 5V----1A or like this 5V----1000mA or anything less than that 1000mAh, then you shoulgld immediately know that you have a slow phone charger. But if you see 5V----2A or in this format 5V----2000mA or more, then you have a fast phone charger.

Buhari meanwhile, yesterday procured the party’s N27.5 million expression of interest and nomination forms at the national secretariat.

Lamenting what the costs of the forms were high, he said that it took the understanding of his bankers in Kaduna and Abuja to raise the money.

“It’s a pity I couldn’t influence this amount to be put down as in the case of ladies and the disabled that intend to participate. I always looked left and right in our meetings but I could not read sympathy, so I kept my trap.

“But I felt heavily sorry for myself because I don’t want to go and ask somebody to pay for my nomination forms, because I always try to pay myself, at least for the nomination.

“N27 million is a big sum, thankfully I have personal relationship with the manager of my bank in Kaduna and early this morning, I put an early call (and) I told him that very soon the forms are coming, so, whether I am on red, or green or even black please honour it, otherwise I may lose the nomination.

“I was about to go to Kaduna this morning and I told the Chairman (John Odigie-Oyegun) but he said in that case, you better pick your form and keep a straight face. That means there is no excuse,” Buhari said.

Responding after handing over the forms to Buhari, the national chairman of the party, Chief Odigie-Oyegun explained that the N27.5m was carefully chosen to “separate men from the boys”.

“Let me say that the N27.5m is to separate the men from the boys. It is quite clear. We know you. I don’t expect you have N27m under your bed. But I expected that there are Nigerians who will vouch for you any day and who are ready to stand for you any day and that is the result that we have obtained today”, he said.

The chairman who expressed satisfaction over the turnout that greeted Buhari’s presidential declaration at Eagles Square in Abuja on Wednesday further stated that APC’s train was already on its way to the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.

Odigie-Oyegun also yesterday said the party would not be averse to the emergence of a consensus candidate should all the presidential aspirants in the party agree to it. He nevertheless stated the readiness of the party to conduct free and fair primaries that would be acceptable to all.

He said: “I want to congratulate you again on the great event that I watched very avidly on television yesterday. It was good for you but it was good for me and the party. I watched it and I knew the entire nation was watching. And I knew inside me what they would be saying. Yes, truly, APC has arrived. These people mean business. Yes, we are going to have quite a few aspirants and we are very glad at the level of display that one by one, they are putting up. It’s a clear indication of the quality in APC.

”It is a clear indication of the quality of leadership that we are offering the nation. “All the people being presented by the APC, there is not one to my mind, so far, who is not eminently qualified to govern this nation and who given even half a chance will not beat anybody PDP can bring to the fore.”

Technology Giant , Google , on wednesday unveiled its latest Nexus devices , Nexus 6 And Nexus 9 , along side Nexus Player , a new music streaming player. Nexus 6 is a 6-inch display smartphone manufactured by Motorolla Mobility while Nexus 9 is an 8.9-inch tablet manufactured by taiwanese OEM , HTC.
This nexus devices are the first to run Android's Latest Os , Android Lollipop.

The Nexus 6, a large-screened device that serves as a phone and a phablet , is Google's first entry in the "Phablet Market". Nexus 6 will lock horns with Apple's iPhone 6 Phablet , which was unveiled last month at an event in curpertino.

The new version of Android illustrates Google's desire to unify Android in its many iterations. When the company introduced it at its I/O developer conference in June, Google showed off "material design," a push by Google to control the visual aesthetics of Android, and make the user interface feel consistent across all mobile products, as well as on the Web.

"Lollipop is made for a world where moving throughout the day means interacting with a bunch of different screens-- from phones and tablets to TVs," Sundar Pichai, senior vice president of Android, Chrome and apps for Google, said in a blog post Wednesday.

The new Android software also gives developers more control over how notifications are displayed on devices, and aims to increase battery efficiency through a project called Volta. Further more, Lollipop includes a battery saver feature that extends the life of a device by 90 minutes.

Lollipop also includes multiple user accounts, a guest user mode and the ability to use different security measures such as a PIN, password, pattern or by linking to a secure device like a watch.

The Nexus 6 Phablet will be available for pre-order In US On October 29 2014 and will be available for sale in November , while Nexus 9 And Nexus Player will be available for preorder on October 17 and will hit the shelves in november 3rd 2014.
