Bloody Thieves! Ole! Barawos! |
MEEVEET:If you read newspapers and intellectual sources online, you will not be question the figure while even laughing, when the joke is on you. You are just going to look silly. https://www.fitchratings.com/research/international-public-finance/fitch-affirms-lagos-state-at-b-outlook-stable-28-07-2023 https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2020/09/14/lagos-and-the-ease-of-doing-business https://businessday.ng/real-sector/article/2020-already-a-tough-year-for-struggling-manufacturing-sector/ https://www.ft.com/content/ff0595e4-26de-11e8-b27e-cc62a39d57a0 https://www.oasisacademymediacityuk.org/uploaded/MediaCityUK/Curriculum/Knowledge_Organisers/Year_10/GCSE_Geography_ALL_PAPER_2.pdf https://www.mckinsey.com/featured-insights/middle-east-and-africa/microregional-data-uncover-a-richer-picture-of-development-in-nigeria https://www.icirnigeria.org/lagos-records-750m-investment-in-one-year/ https://www.dataphyte.com/latest-reports/nigerias-foreign-investments-slump-to-5-3bn-lowest-in-six-years/ https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/57a08971ed915d3cfd00024c/61250-URN_Theme_B_Economic_Report_FINAL.pdf (page 32) I have selectively picked sources but I still expect you to say: "You can't believe this. Yorubas own all those organisations in the links" "They are Yoruba Bureau of Statistics Organisations" "These are lies, they all hate Igbos" "It is Igbos that contribute 99.9% of industrial investment and of its commercial activities in Lagos anyway" |
MEEVEET:Lets start. Do you read the papers or you only dance shaku shaku with your life? |
MEEVEET:Bro, are you an illiterate. You don't read the papers? Just sit down and chest-beat and say "Wow! I am of the stock of the greatest tribe" without any credible evidence? If at your age, you do not know most Nigerian industrial and commercial activities are in Lagos and Ogun State, you should start regretting all the exam cheating you engaged in to pass exams. The chicken has come home to roast regarding your intellectual competence. |
ShoeGetSize:You are on point, bruv! |
humilitypays:No, I heard they were Chinese. Oga, please next time stop saying nonsense when beating chest. They are Anioma (Elumelu) and Ikwerre (Wigwe) people. Overwhelmingly most Anioma and Ikwerre people blatantly refuse to be seen as, referred to or be called Igbos. So except you have evidence of where they referred to themselves as Igbos, I would go with what most Anioma and Ikwerre people say they are "We are not Igbos". If you have evidence of them saying they are Igbos, I would accept it and call them bonafide Igbos. But I want you to stop, as usual, boasting with weak evidence, arguments and lies in your attempt to claim being the supreme tribe. |
MEEVEET:Of course not everyone stays in Lagos. But the biggest money, biggest businesses, richest people and biggest business opportunities are concentrated, and mainly, in Lagos in a ridiculous manner. That is the money bubble! One state out of 37 generates 20% of the GDP, 70% of the country's total industrial investment and 65% of its commercial activities. Second place city is like a baby to Lagos. Talk less of going as far down as 6th or 7th place cities. |
IamAtikulate:Courtesy: Intellectual Research, Not Empty Chest-Beating You can try it and lose. |
IamAtikulate:Based on indigenous professionally-ran companies in the industry Emzor: Pharmaceutical industry - Yorubas dominate more than Igbos Nestoil, Britannia U, Seplat, Atlas Oranto Petroleum: Upstream Oil & Gas - Yorubas and SS dominate more than Igbos Pinancle Oil, Capital Oil and Gas, Oilserve, Master Energy, Jesco Oil LTD - I don't know who dominates this Tonimas Group, The Chrome Group, Orange Drugs: Conglomerates - I don't know who dominates this Erisco Foods: Food Manufacturing and Processing - Hausas dominate this one. Yorubas are second. Interswitch, IrokoTV: Tech - Yorubas dominate more than Igbos Guinea Insurance PLC: Insurance - This one is no competition. Na total Yoruba Yoruba industry. Yorubas rule totally! |
Good job! |
ShoeGetSize:AHHHH! So your head is very correct? ![]() You nailed it!!! ![]() I thought you were going to say because the rest of Nigeria fear SE will be come Singapore and they are all scared of Igbo superiority! |
ShoeGetSize:Why do you think he is not letting them create their own country? |
Ogene001:You are deluding yourself. |
IamAtikulate:You go school? Who owns Persianas Investment Limited? |
Ogene001:Igbos dominate small trade. Yorubas dominate professional businesses. Professional businesses find most of their money from Abuja, Port-Harcourt, Kano, Kaduna, Onitsha, Warri and SW region. Here are the states with little economic activities. They have not received a single dollar of FDI since 2015: NW: Jigawa, Kebbi, Zamfara NE: Borno, Gombe, Yobe NC: Benue, Taraba SS: Bayelsa, Cross River SE: Ebonyi, Imo SW: Osun |
Ogene001:Igbos dominate small trade. Yorubas dominate professional businesses. Professional businesses find most of their money from Abuja, Port-Harcourt, Kano, Kaduna, Warri and SW region. |
MEEVEET:Whether they invest in North West or Timbuktu or not, Yorubas run majority of the professional business sectors in Nigeria. This level of reasoning that you evaluate on 'what geographical area investment covers' is a serious sign of low IQ and poor education. Many of you are seriously unemployable. For every 100 Naira you spend in Nigeria to live a good and modern life, the largest fraction goes to foreign owned business. The next largest fraction goes to Yoruba-owned business as they dominate majority of the professional sectors. When YOU go out today and decide to buy cooked food to eat outside, if you do not decide to eat at some motor park or mama put joint, but instead decide to eat at one of the chain eateries, you are probably most likely spending money with a Yoruba-owned business. When you work and your company pays for life insurance, there is a high chance it is going to a Yoruba-owned business. When they pay your pension, there is a high chance it is going to a Yoruba-owned business. If you want to send your kids to the top private schools, you are probably most likely spending money with a Yoruba-owned business. When you need to pay money for God to hear you, you are probably most likely spending money with a Yoruba-owned business. |
Ogene001:SW and SS-owned companies run the indigenous Oil & Gas sector. Depending on year and production levels by different oil wells, one leads and the other is second in regards to overall bopd. SE is a distant third (more than 25% less than second). As a singular tribe, Yoruba-owned companies lead that sector. They also lead in pharma production AND pharma retail chains (not the street pharma drugs seller market). It is only transport that they cannot compete with Igbos. |
opamoses1:Hostility to "aliens" owning land in Igboland, separatists' violence (including sit at home), potential of property destruction, poor infrastructural development and geographical location from economic capitals makes the South East very unattractive for FDI or IRDI (Inter-regional direct investment). Investors would be sensible enough to go to other locations. Dangote and Rabiu know they can pour billions of dollars of investment in SW and SS and sleep with peace. So do Westerners! Chest-beating, warrior rhetoric, violence and hostilities to others is not profitable! |
IamAtikulate:That is a shame for SE. Not something to be proud of. If that is a thing of pride, Taraba should be one of the proudest Nigerian states. |
SSFeedsNigeria:Which "Igbos" own UBA and Access? |
SSFeedsNigeria:Well said! |
raskymonojendor:That is a stupid list. What methodology was used to determine "Control of Lagos' economy"? Anybody can create nonsense and you quickly just believe it without any critical and analytical query? |
Mrfeel:This is stupid nonsense! Non-Igbo people don't invest in SE because it is not the best option available to them. Not because they cannot afford land in Igboland or cannot compete with Igbos but igbos can compete with them nonsense. The typical moronic chest-beating and insulting other tribes with stupid evidence and arguments. Are you telling me that American, British, French, Japanese, Lebanese, South African etc. companies cannot compete with Igbo companies or cannot afford land in Igboland; which I am sure you think only the Igbos can afford because they are the "billionaires" ? So how come they too are not investing in SE but are happy to invest in Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Kano, Kaduna, Otta, Agbara, Sagamu, Warri, Benin, Uyo etc.?The current only logical reason to put one's investment in SE is if one lives there or has emotional attachment to it. If that is not the case, the economics just does not work as best as if you invest in other parts of Nigeria, and that is not something to beat your chest about in SE. Also, other Nigerians don't migrate to live in SE because of this lack of economic significance. While they AND IGBOS migrate to many other cities in Nigeria that have more commercial opportunities. This foolish "it is because they cannot compete with us on our homeland" is like Bulgarians saying they are better than British or French people because they invest in London and Paris in droves but the British and the French hardly invest in Sofia. Well, the British and the French have better options than Sofia for investing their money. Sofia is not as economically significant as Madrid, Brussels, Munich etc. |
humilitypays:Can you show your evidence of this? |
There needs to be a law that states "if you fail civil service promotional exams 3 times throughout your career (not at just one stage), then you are automatically compulsorily retired". This would help: 1) Improve the quality and ability of those who rise in civil service 2) Improve how civil servants would desperately go and improve themselves if they want to rise in rank 3) Keep the most useless civil servants at the bottom till they retire as they would be terrified to go take promotion exams and end up being jobless. People like my "Oga at the Top", Shem Obafaiye, should never rise above Level 9. |
Twistaray:Dem no born am well to try it. ![]() |
dauntless15:Look at the effeminate fool grasping at straws. Saying a woman's voice is not great for football commentary is Missesogyny. Now the foool wants to blame men for women sexually objectifying themselves with what they freely choose to wear and show to leave their homes and how they try to utilise their sexual power in society. The next thing the foool would be telling me is that women's football is as good as men's football and they should get same wages as men. Otherwise, I am looking down on women. Feminised, low IQ man! Wannabe "progressive"! ![]() |
Zool6:Everywhere where? Present your links, fooool! ![]() |
Abagworo:It was actually Wachuku that first said it. But it was not a big deal as he did not mean it in a negative, provocative or degrading way. The problem is the few ignorant, boisterous and provocative Igbos that have been saying it in the last 10 years. They are the ones that have provoked a backlash. Your argument that Yorubas are not the natives of Lagos is one of the highest level of foolishness and you are one of the few Igbos one talks about! Who did the colonialist fight for Lagos when they arrived in the mid 1800s? |
