Ok..so i decided to share this,maybe i too might finally see the funny side of it.

I'd recently just left school,and i was beyond happy. Two weeks later,i decided to pay my Alma Mata a visit. It was a saturday morning...the plan was2hang out with some fellas and b bck by monday.
I was doin jus dat until around 10pm. I bumped into an old, sweet and cool friend. She was,as usual,dressed in fashionable clothes and her high-heel prefferd kinda shoes. She held a Bible.
She flew herself in2 my arms..a honest joy on my part to see her.
Immediately after the plesantries,she openly told me i was God sent: She was yet2have dinner,she had to trek back from Church and there was absolutely nothin in her room.
On the other hand,na just 50naira dey my hand. #50, not #500. I'd been roaming the entire ATM ports i could find around sinc the last 2hrs b4 i saw her. I had visited atleast 7 of them..and their response was either 'Interswitch Incoperative' or 'Unable to dispense Cash'..or plainly 'No service'.
But i didn't want2tell her all these. It would sound to lame and cheap..and i wanted 2proove a point..i don b graduate.
So i told her we shd head to the ATM port in the Senate. In my own words.."Whateva i withdraw,i'l giv u half and i'l take the other. And from my own half,we wld go have dinner together."
Of cors,the confidence came from knowing that none of the ATM was presently working or accepting my UBA card. And I'd just left the same ATM port about 15minutes before i met her.
As we head2d Senate buildin..my paddy was more relaxed and as animated as eva.

With (fair words from) their mouths they entice
you, but their hearts are averse from you; and

9:9 The Signs of Allah have they sold for a miserable

9:10 In a Believer they respect not the ties either of
kinship or of covenant! It is they who have
transgressed all bounds.

your brethren in Faith: (thus) do We explain the

9:12 But if they violate their oaths after their covenant,
and taunt you for your Faith,- fight ye the chiefs
of Unfaith: for their oaths are nothing to them:

baAAdiAAahdihim wataAAanoo fee deenikum
faqatilooa-immata alkufri innahum la aymana
lahumlaAAallahum yantahoona
9:13 Will ye not fight people who violated their oaths,
plotted to expel the Apostle, and took the
aggressive by being the first (to assault) you? Do
ye fear them? Nay, it is Allah Whom ye should
more justly fear, if ye believe!
Ala tuqatiloona qawmannakathoo aymanahum
wahammoo bi-ikhraji alrrasooliwahum badaookum
awwala marratin atakhshawnahum
faAllahuahaqqu an takhshawhu in kuntum mu/

9:14 Fight them, and Allah will punish them by your
hands, cover them with shame, help you (to
victory) over them, heal the breasts of Believers,
Qatiloohum yuAAaththibhumu Allahubi-aydeekum
wayukhzihim wayansurkum AAalayhim wayashfi
sudooraqawmin mu/mineena
9:15 And still the indignation of their hearts. For Allah
will turn (in mercy) to whom He will; and Allah is
All-Knowing, All-Wise.

9:16 Or think ye that ye shall be abandoned, as
though Allah did not know those among you who
strive with might and main, and take none for

well-acquainted with (all) that ye do.

9:18 The mosques of Allah shall be visited and
maintained by such as believe in Allah and the

Allah. It is they who are expected to be on true

the sight of Allah: and Allah guides not those who
do wrong.

9:22 They will dwell therein for ever. Verily in Allah's
presence is a reward, the greatest (of all).

9:23 O ye who believe! take not for protectors your
fathers and your brothers if they love infidelity
above Faith: if any of you do so, they do wrong.

alkufra AAala al-eemaniwaman yatawallahum
minkum faola-ika humu alththalimoona
9:24 Say: If it be that your fathers, your sons, your
brothers, your mates, or your kindred; the wealth
that ye have gained; the commerce in which ye
fear a decline: or the dwellings in which ye delight
- are dearer to you than Allah, or His Apostle, or
the striving in His cause;- then wait until Allah
brings about His decision: and Allah guides not
the rebellious.

Jarus: All the above were within my 2-3 days-a-week stay in these PPA villages. I actually stayed in Sokoto metropolis for 80% of my service period. Rekeb: @seguun, many thanks for pointing this out. The hadith only saya that Prophet Muhammed (SAW) stood up to honour the dead non muslim. He did not stand up to pray for him.

It is a duty imposed by islam on the entire muslim community
Muslims don't make prayers for DEAD non-muslims
This is actually why Muslims encourage whoever wants to become a muslim to do so quickly
