FamilyRe: How Often Should Married Couples Get Intimate? by garnetty(op): 9:58am On Feb 02, 2012
@ Fhemmmy, NO, it is not all about inventing ways to add flavour to the act but the question of 'Should it be a routine thing?'. Also, even if the marriage is still fresh as originally put by me, 'Is getting intimate on a daily basis the best?' And is the feeling always right to get intimate on a daily basis?'.

@ Outstrip, my point is not about starving the other partner of sex or marrying someone who shares the same ideology about sex. Taken, sex is one of the primary purposes of marriage aside from companionship but if we must agree that it should be done frequently, then at what rate?. Should it be a routine thing based on the mutual feelings of the couple? Then for you (am not sure you are married yet), if your man has got the strength to do it on a daily basis, shortly after wedding, then what becomes of the feelings 2,3,4 months down the line? Even certain kind of food which one likes to be eaten at any point in time or frequently becomes 'unattractive' when it is monotonous. Food for thought.

@ ronkebp, YES, the couple may not have any other thing to engage themselves on other than sex in the early days of their marriage (shortly after wedding) but what if they had had it countless times before they officially agreed to tie the knots? Would n't it be less attractive or would it still be a routine thing for them, when they have seen it all?. This, in my opinion, ultimately affects the issue of frequency. Food for thought.

@ blank, if i understand your conclusion, your position is that the need to get intimate should only be driven by the mutual feelings of then couple at any point in time and should n't be a routine thing. And if i may ask, how old is your marriage now and how frequent do you still have it? Am sure you only get intimate when the feeling is right and mutual.

@ sweetwendy, YES, it should be done as many times as possible. But is the feeling always right for it especially when it now seen as a routine thing?. Getting intimate could be at any stage of the union even during childbearing but at what frequency? Again, the feeling, i suppose, is the keyword.

More contributions are welcome especially from those who have been married for one or two years.

Definitely not a card! Some roses, red wines, cakes and chocolates etc.

@ Fhemmmy, You can't be serious. You mean they should get intimate on a daily basis? That could be sickening!!!
FamilyHow Often Should Married Couples Get Intimate? by garnetty(op): 2:01pm On Feb 01, 2012
There is no doubt that getting intimate by married couples, especially for those who are still quiet fresh in the institution, makes the bond and affection between them more solid while they progress. But just out of curiosity and relishing the unpleasant experience of some couples especially the male counterpart, i have come to terms with the fact that intimacy every now and then ultimately erodes the passion traditionally associated with it. To my mind ( Just my thought), intimacy should not be a 'frequent' thing. In fact, it makes the union more enjoyable and inviting when intimacy (S*X) is 'regulated'. Opinions, comments and experiences on this are welcome.

@Jybz, Nothing yet. Infact, the text messaging thing as reported by our new comer, O BOY, is not in tandem with the current position at the recruitment affairs. Now nobody seems to know who is saying the truth. Let's just wait for events to unfold. Keep trusting God.

Update, Just made another call now,

Reliable feelers from the recruitment affairs has it that all what they are waiting for are instructions from the Board of NSITF, hopefully in the next couple of days (say one week), to start rolling out text msgs to successful candidates and issuance of appointment letters thereto. That this is ultimately the next phase of the recruitment exercise and nothing more. We are almost there folks.

@ MSTIA and Lilodez, Let's just be hopeful that the pay package is going to be good enough. Nobody knows anything for now, not even Danto and Broncop accused of holding back information on this recruitment. I think we should first be prayerful that all our expectations fall in place and ultimately allow the Board members to take their seats. Patience for me is a virtue. We must learn to have and earn it.

House, the story as reported in Guardian Newspaper,

Employees compensation scheme begins,

… NSITF gets new board

THE ongoing efforts at ensuring better condition in the work environment will get a major boost as one of the structures required to drive the employees compensation scheme will be unveiled in Abuja.

The Minister of Labour and Productivity, Emeka Wogu, will inaugurate board of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), a body that will spearhead the implementation of the scheme.

This comes as three new executive directors have also been appointed to signal the full compliment of workers that will drive the implementation of the new scheme.

The Guardian learnt that only one of the executive directors was appointed from within the NSITF while the other two are drawn from the office of the minister and the other one from the Presidency.

It is expected that the immediate past Chairman of the NSITF board, Mrs. Ngozi Olejeme, may return to her seat while other members will be drawn from the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), representative of the National Employers Consultative Association (NECA) and other representatives that reflect the spirit of tripartism.

The Act setting up the NSITF requires that the NLC is consulted when appointment is made into the board but even when this essential provision was overlooked by government, there was no resistance from the secretariat of the labour organisation.

The Employees’ Compensation Act, which repeals the Workmen’s Compensation Act of 2004 provides for the establishment and maintenance of a solvent compensation fund managed in the interest of employees and employers. It is a no-fault scheme that emphasises the social solidarity element in the work place.

It also seeks to combine the efforts and resources of the relevant stakeholders for the enforcement of occupational safety and health standards.

The Employees’ Compensation Act, which was passed by the National Assembly in 2010 was subsequently assented to by President Goodluck Jonathan last year is a mandatory scheme, which applies to all employers and employees across the public and private sectors in the country.

The implementation of the Act and the management of the Compensation Fund established under Section 56 of the Act, are to be overseen by the management board of the NSITF.

We will laugh last, Amen

@ Sexkillz, thank you so much for your well thought contributions on the issue. It is quite invaluable. This issue has been a recurrent issue way back during courtship and engagement, and i've tried as much as possible to let her see reasons why receiving calls from purported male friends is nothing good when she is now committed to a union. Fortunately for me, cos of my persistence, she had to let go some of these male friends but she has not totally rebuked the idea of keeping male friends with a married status. The hitherto late night calls (@ odd times) have also reduced drastically, in fact non-existence except if they are still kept alive behind my back. However, my grudge has always been the fact that she still receives calls from pockets of them, secretly, and at times if i went her phone call log, i still see some of these male names, especially those whom she had had dealings with in the past and that i know about. My worry in all these is that there seems to be this 'unnecessary connections and affections' with couple of male friends that she would not want to let go. No doubt she loves so much and always tries to assure me of her commitment and the need not to have any form of distrust for her but i always feel any woman could do this and still put your heart at stake. It is a dicey situation for me but i know i will get over it.

For others, i thank you also for your contributions. I know marriage does not fix things but i believe it takes the grace of God for one to be successful in it. Whether you ironed out disturbing issues before marriage or not, if your spouse is going to have some form of annoying attitudes or not depends largely on her background and orientation. It takes providence for one to maintain a decent level of understanding. Thanks y'all.
RomanceHelp! She Is Obsessed With And Committed To Male Friends. by garnetty(op): 2:24pm On Jan 19, 2012
There is this terrible attitude in my spouse especially in relation to male friends. She seems to be so much into male friends than the female counterparts whom she ordinarily should be more connected to. She continues to receives calls from them and oftentimes i here them discuss or exchange pleasantries passionately as if there are a lot of things at stake. I've tried on several occasions to talk her into understanding the fact that her status as a married woman does not, anymore, encourage such 'relationships' with men outside her marriage but all to no avail. She sees nothing wrong with it and her excuse is always that they are long time friends ( or childhood friends, as she puts at times). As a man i know the danger this act portends especially for a nascent relationship like ours. Please house, i would appreciate contributions from members, especially married ones, on how best to handle this disturbing trait without unnecessarily hurting our union. Thanks.

The Board of Nigeria Communications Commission was inaugurated yesterday in Abuja by the Honourable Minister of Technology. One wonders why inaugurating the new Board of NSITF has become an herculean task for the Federal Government. It is rarely frustrating to continue to wait endlessly. Still hoping that our milito-democratic president will wake up from his slumber and have NSITF think about. All is well.

Almighty God, we seek for thine intervention on this recruitment. It's been 5 months and counting, earnestly hoping that this process will come to past but different scenarios have unfortunately unfolded. But we believe that you started this phase with us and you shall end it with us. When would the new members of the Board (if they are appointed already) of NSITF be inaugurated and given the mandate to commence work? Year 2011 is fast grinding to a halt and yet nothing concrete is known or done yet. Fellow hopefuls, lets continue to pray that this recruitment process will not be compromised. I am rest assured by God that we shall laugh last. Notfree, Jybz, oayombo, danto and others don't let us relent by dishing out information on this recruitment as they unfold. It is well,

@ Broncop: I appreciate your unflinching contributions while keeping our 'hopes' alive for this job. What rather baffles me is the near absence of enabling infrastructure for NSITF and the new ECS to take off. You will agree with me that most of their offices are somehow deserted and lacked modern office equipments to facilitate and enable good working environment for the teeming prospective staff to once again bring to life the organisation. Which brings us to the question whether the February date is even foreseeable for the institution to take off? Then for the purpose of clarification from your submissions, how on earth is the Federal Government owing the sum of N38 billion being 1% contribution of the total Federal payroll when the ECS has not been officially launched or taken off? Infact, the last i gathered was that the date for the official commencement of the scheme as provided for under the Employees' Compensation Act, 2010 is still inconclusive or uncertain. Based on the available reports, Federal Government has only 'allegedly' set aside N9 billion for the take off of the scheme by NSITF. In any case, we all hope for the best and praying that 'these politicians' will not usurp the process to our own detriment. We have waited for so long to loose out. We shall all smile at the end of it all. Let's keep the flame of hope burning.

Let's continue to be prayerful and hope that the appointed time of our glory shall eventually beckon. One is not even sure if the requisite grant as provided for in the Employees' Compensation Act, 2010 for the take off of the Fund has been granted the Board or not. May God help us oo. @ aca77, i applied for an Am position under Legal Services and on the day of the interview/chat was asked questions pertaining my field of study i.e. Legal hypothetical questions. My credentials were thereafter verified and recorded. About the misplacement occasioned with respect to the position you applied for, i think it is a mere irregularity which can be sorted out during the final process or when dispatching the employment letters. For now, let's pray everything works well for us and in our favour. Best of luck.

Whatever processes to be used in determining the successful candidates for the jobs, i will never be left out. Now, that's the spirit of success. Goodluck.
