PoliticsRe: Achebe's Civil War Memoir: Lets Not Re-open Old Wounds- Fashola by GARRIx7(m): 11:39am On Dec 11, 2012
Sincere 9gerian: Fashola had better kept quite on this issue because it is highly INSENSITIVE and PROVOCATIVE to suggest that we should sweep under the carpet the genocidal actions of principal actors of the Nigerian civil war.
You and your fore-fathers have been whining for the past 45 years but it hasn't gotten you anywhere. Carry the matter on you head, tell the story to your children and tell them to pass it on. to their children..... grin grin

Igbos blame everyone for the war, except Ojukwu.

Ojukwu led 2 million Igbos to the grave by going into a war he wasn't prepared for. The blood of the 2million Igbos will haunt Ojukwu even in his grave.

Achebe belongs to the hall of shame for trying to twist history.
PoliticsRe: ACN Governors Creating Enabling Environment For Investors? by GARRIx7(m): 8:25pm On Dec 09, 2012
Sincere 9gerian: I said ACN governors because you guys make so much noise about how ACN governors are doing fantastically well in terms of encouraging investment in their states. The governors, ACN and others, have to do more to encourage small and medium scale businesses to thrive. The governors are closest to these business and should do everything possible to encourage their survival, including abolishing stupid things like omonile. In the end it is these small and medium scale businesses that will create jobs and drive growth.
Meanwhile, I concur with your submission on how to encourage local cement production. In fact, I am suprised that importation is still going on. I hope those responsible at the federal level act fast to save the local cement industry

Hi, this is to apologise to ALL whom I have insulted here on NL. I have tried to reach some of the persons involved to no avail.

I have over time tried to ßξ more civil and respect the viewpoints of other NLers. I sincerely desire to work harder and make tangible progress in this regard.

Once again, accept my apologies..

Sincerely,

I have a friend who is an awardee. The last time we spoke he was positive about the program and he said things are going on well (NB: he didn't give me all the details though)...

YouWin is a noble Idea and if well implemented the multiplier effect on our economy will be worth it. All we should push for is fairness and transparency in the process..

I think the State governors should emulate the FG in this regard by empowering youths with viable business ideas...

PoliticsRe: The Crave For Mega City by GARRIx7(m): 12:31pm On Dec 07, 2012
afam4eva: This will be my last reply to you on this thread and i'll make my post as lucid as it can be.

It's unfortunate that you're reading my post from a myopic prism. I advocate a balance in governance. It's like an Ekiti or Ebonyi government telling us that they're building a world-class Airport whereas the citizens of such states are poor. There are priorities and the priority of any government should be the people especially here in Africa.
I hope this will also be ur last post on this thread. Ur unfounded and biased comments will not be missed... cheesy cheesy

PoliticsRe: The Crave For Mega City by GARRIx7(m): 11:35am On Dec 07, 2012
afam4eva: I don't know why some of you just have the habit of twisting people's assertions. No where did i say that the government should not develop the city. But it should not be at the detriment of the people. There should be a balance somewhere. A situation where a governor puts his efforts only at building gargantuan projects aka White elephant projects all over the place should not be encourage. Everything should be a gradual process.
I didn't twist ur assertion. Your post is here for you to read again..
afam4eva: The government should invest in people by setting up human development centers and in turn these people will build the city. It's so simple.
You said the people in whom the Govt has invested via the Human Development Centers will build the City. Hence Govt. should focus on building the people via provision of Human Devt. Centers and pay less attention to Developing the infrastructure of the state since that will ßξ done by beneficiaries of the Human Development Schemes....

Its shameful that some people just criticise for the sake of criticising.
PoliticsRe: The Crave For Mega City by GARRIx7(m): 11:13am On Dec 07, 2012
afam4eva: The government should invest in people by setting up human development centers and in turn these people will build the city. It's so simple.
So the Govt should ONLY build schools, skill acquisition centers etc. And wait for the products of these institutes to come out and build roads, bridges, hospitals and other needed infrastructure...??

Oya Clap for urself.... grin grin
PoliticsRe: The Crave For Mega City by GARRIx7(m): 8:02am On Dec 07, 2012
Crayola1: Wow some folks can extrapolate to the moon if you let them cheesy

He is saying that its ok to have grand plans for the future but do not forget the people here today. The problem with Nigeria is that people want to go from bush to NYC in one jump when it doesn't happen like that. Go look at South Korea and see how they crept along the path to what they are today. They had slums, huts, shanties, you name it and now its developed.

People forget that NYC was a horrible place at the begining of the 20th century even up to the 70's it was no mans land. It was a decades long progressive movement that spoke on behalf of the poor and neglected sectors of society that allow Nigerians of all stripes to sell fake gucci purses free from fear of being shanked in broad daylight cheesy

Lagos is shaping to be a place where if you are not well off you better find somewhere else to lay your head. At least Abuja has the decency to tell you that up front cheesy
The guy you're defending classified current projects which are meant to modernise the City "White Elephant Projects". So the task for you ‎Άnd ur colleague is:

Name two or three of such "white elephant projects" and mention alternative projects that would ßξ more beneficial to the people of the state..

PoliticsRe: The Crave For Mega City by GARRIx7(m): 6:58am On Dec 07, 2012
afam4eva: To build a state or country means to build the people. Are you actually suggest that the government goes on to build white elephant projects when the citizens live in penury?
And are you saying that LASG should stop building infrastructure and start distributing food and money to Lagosians??

You can never let go of Bigotry, can you??
PoliticsRe: The Crave For Mega City by GARRIx7(m): 10:31pm On Dec 06, 2012
bilms: Abuja is also building Mega City,Lagos also wants to build a Mega City, yet the citizens are Mega Hungry...

Should the city be priority of the citizens?
People like you can sell ur future and the future of ur children(born and unborn) for a Plate of Amala and EwedU...

So my Governor shouldn't develop my state because I'm hungry...abi??
