Good news. I hope the allegations by Okonjo that the kidnap was sponsored by aggrieved marketers is thoroughly investigated and those found culpable, arrested and prosecuted. If investigations reveal otherwise, then she should tender an unreserved apology to all oil marketers as well as all Nigerians for LYING.. |
Seun: Dear Jarus & OAM4J, sexkillz: [color=#000030]Na today? Do you know how many apologies he has tendered in the past, or how many he will tender in the future, on this same issue? So na so Oga SEUN dey suffa una..... Sorry ooooo |
Mr. Globe:*Garri-Ignores-A-Certified-fool* |
See SEUN publicly flogging his MODs. This is the height of ingratitude and disrespect. Take a second look at the Thread's title, "The Shamefulness Of The Politics Section Hall Of Shame". What's shameful about the process. Its the same process that was used for all other awards that took place this year. Seun's action is insultive and grossly disrespectful not only to the MODs, but also to all forumites who followed due process during the nominations.... |
prof e.o.o:What abt other religious organizations in France, how are they taxed?? |
Utomi should focus on leading his state (Delta).... |
France repays Jehovah’s Witnesses $8.3m illegal tax By Franklin Alli PARIS — After a 15-year legal battle, the government of France repaid to Jehovah’s Witnesses funds totaling 6,373,987.31 Euros ($8,294,320; N1.3 billion). This is even as the European Court of Human Rights, ECHR, ruled that the government of Armenia must pay 112,000 Euros ($145,226) in damages and legal fees to 17 Jehovah’s Witnesses conscientious objectors for human rights violations. An online statement from the organisation’s website, weekend, said: “In 1998, the government of France asserted that religious donations made by Jehovah’s Witnesses were subject to a crushing retroactive 60 percent tax and, in 2003, demanded partial payment. “The European Court of Human Rights found that France was guilty of violating the religious freedom of Jehovah’s Witnesses through the illegal tax, which, if enforced, could have resulted in the liquidation of the Witnesses’ national offices and obstructed their Bible education work. “Since the Court ruled that the tax was illegal, the French government is now starting to implement the Court’s decision by returning the funds collected, with interest, and paying the Witnesses’ legal expenses,” said the statement. The statement further said: “In 2005, 17 young men who are Jehovah’s Witnesses were performing alternative civilian service. However, when they realised that it was under the control and supervision of the military, they could no longer continue to serve in good conscience and subsequently left their places of service. They were, thereafter, arrested and prosecuted. Some were held in pretrial detention for several months, and 11 were eventually sentenced to prison terms from two to three years.” “The European Court ruled that these criminal prosecutions and detentions were illegal because in 2005, there was no law in Armenia that made it a crime to abandon alternative civilian service. The Court held that Armenia violated the Witnesses’ right to liberty and security as protected under Article 5 of the European Convention on Human Rights. Although the government later dropped the criminal charges against the 17, Armenia refused to compensate them for the unlawful criminal prosecutions and detentions. Therefore, the Court ordered Armenia to pay compensation for moral damages and legal fees. This judgment comes in the wake of three other European Court rulings against Armenia on the issue of neutrality. In all four cases, the Armenian authorities mistreated conscientious objectors who are Jehovah’s Witnesses and unjustly dealt with them as if they were dangerous criminals. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/12/france-repays-jehovahs-witnesses-8-3m-illegal-tax/ |
Nice family pics... Good to see a sober and good-looking Klint |
Congrats to the Even though I don't know how you won, as long as due process was followed, you've got my thumbs-up. The truth is: you don't need to be an angel to do a great job. Please keep up the Good work and never stop seeking out avenues for continual self improvement. Once again I say, CONGRATS for a well deserved victory.. Yours sincerely, Garri (x7) Executive P.R.O. (Controversial) GPAN |
@Gbawe: The masses are the boss before and during election, but after the election, its the other way round.. |
Alams is a disgrace to himself, his family, his state and his country. He is an Ex-Convict and should not be found close to any serious minded person. It is very unfortunate that Jonathan sees nothing wrong in openly fraternizing with convicted felons. Jonathan lacks a moral compass and that is the reason for his immoral, brazen and senseless actions as well as inactions... |
On behalf of I, me, myself and my family and members of GPAN (Garri Producers Association of Nairaland), I want to congratulate Prof. Katsumoto and thank him for his excellent posts this year. I also wish to congratulate High Chief Gbawe & Comrade Naptu2 and thank them for their highly intellectual and mature posts during 2012. Thanks to Jarus for conducting a free and fair election. I appreciate the mature behavior of all contestants(especially Afam4eva) even in the face of some challenges in administration of the election. Nairaland politics section is an interesting place. I've learnt a lot from so many of the posters in this section. The diversity of the forumites in beliefs, values, personalities etc adds a lot of color and dynamism to the section. Lastly I wish YOU ALL a happy, peaceful exciting Christmas as well as a prosperous, bomb-free, kidnapping-free New Year in advance. Long live Nairaland! Long live GPAN!! Long live The Federal Republic of Nigeria!!! Thanks and God Bless... Sincerly, Hon. Garri (x7) First Executive P.R.O. Garri Republic (Controversial) |
Jarus: NPEC co-chair, Jarus, on behalf of co-chair OAM4J and the entire Nairaland management, climbs the podium. Opens his note to declare result. But a brief speech:Yeah, Thanks!!! |
thelastPope: They are not new roads ooooohhhhhh! Liars!!! They are not new roads. Akerele, ogunlana and adelabu are not new roads. They have been existing before youi were born and have been functioning!Stop ranting. Pls provide picture and articles to back ur claim that those roads where in Good working order before Fashola came in... waiting.. Meanwhile I'm not a Lagosian.. |
gregtochi: He is a bigot cos he brought truth to the table? You know it was said that an unexamined life is not worth living.if he is a bigot cos he wanted us to reexamine our nationhood which most members on this forum have done, then isn't dat speaking from two sides of the mouth? Let us be sincere for once!!!He brought lies, hatred and bigotry to the table. His mission is to poison the minds of Igbo youths and all who take him seriously. He is highly respected in the international community and he wishes to Ʊ$£ that to spread lies and hatred... Chinua Achebe is a disgrace and belongs to SHAME's Hall |
gregtochi: Because people with skewed thinking felt he insulted their intellect.Achebe is a liar and a tribal bigot ![]() |
Sincere 9gerian: I've always had the suspicion that NL has been hijacked by Yoruba and ACN cabal. Nothing confirms this suspicion more than the appearance of Prof Achebe's name on ACN/Yoruba hall of shame. Why is Barth Nnaji's name in the hall of fame?? Have Igbos and PDP also hijacked NL?? Mr Man, China Ashebi is a disgrace and belongs to the hall of shame alongside Goodluck Egbere Jonathan. |
@Bubapupa: thanks for those pics. Ignore the f00ls and their rantings. Just keep posting the pics you have. So many by-standers now and later will judge for themselves and come to know who the real liars and hypocrites are... @LostHope: You claimed that some of the roads were in order before Fashola, why not provide pictures and articles to back up ur claims just like Bubapupa has been doing. Why not expose the so-called lies with proof(picture etc) instead of ranting like a b1tch with a sore pnssy.... |
@Emiye & Babapupa: S!lly9gerian and LostHope are 2 f00ls that need no convincing. After claiming that "nothing has been done", they shift to "the facility aint Good enough".. Pls keep posting those pics for the neutrals who are currently viewing this thread. |
taharqa: I think you and d oda ACN goons are d HYPOCRITES here.... I thought u guys said dat GEJ is 'clueless' and is not doing anything? How come u guys are now SUBTLY passing d provision of free rides on 'HIS TRAINS' by Osun state as sm sort of 'achievement' by Aregbe? 'Omoluabi' trains my azzz... I wish d commuters safe journey joorF00l, tell me who's paying the t-fares... |
See dis mumu oooo...... Always trying to associate ur inept leader with Good news. Now it is GEJ's transformation, but when people try to steal under the guise of building a house for Sambo, you are quick to point at the ministries... You are a terrible hypocrite.... |
Sincere 9gerian: There is a big difference between the vision of the head of govt, manifested in policies and programmes on one hand and flip flops or mis-deeds of one agency, institution or persons in govt. The head of govt personally owns the vision, policies and programmes of his govt. For instance, the transformation in the rail sector is happening because the president wants it. The privatisation and other reforms in the power sector are what the president wants. As a leader, you know WHAT you want and WHO to put WHERE to make it happen. GEJ wanted a cleaner election and went for Jega. If he wanted otherwise, he would have gone for Chief Bode GeorgeMy man, quit the lame attempt at trying to extricate GEJ from this mess. He appoints the heads of these agencies and institutions that's why when they succeed, he is applauded. When they also display ineptitude, GEJ who appointed these guys ought to get some "knocks".. They fail and succeed together.. |
When those under GEJ succeed, @s1lly9gerian will as us to thank GEJ, but when they fail, GEJ becomes ignorant of what happened.. |
[s] Sincere 9gerian: It is obvious that the president doesn't even know much about the N16billion Sambo's residence contract. For this same issue, the 'retardinhos' have attacked, abused and cursed GEJ. Do we really expect one man to know everything and be involved in everything? As far as I'm concerned, there are institutions and those institutions should do their work and where they fail, all attacks should be directed at them, not an 'omnipresent' president. In this case, where the contract sum appears too high, the senate committee should do their work(which they'r already doing), the budget office, ministry of office and other parties concerned in the project should also do their work. Where foul play is suspected, the law should take its course.[/s] Raw-bish. You're a f00l if you think GEJ is Ignorant |
Prince Emeka Onyesoh canvassed a return to the old path of truth and transparency in governance. He insisted that Nigerians must engage in soul searching in order to tell themselves the truth, that all is not well with Nigeria.I love this part the most, while a agree with most of what was said by the Ndigbo leaders..... |
