The political section is dead and burried long ago, and no other contributors could rejuvenate it. [s]1st , 2nd, 3rd to comment and Garrrriii has been the acceptable norms on this section.[/s]
The Political section is still very vibrant. We've got folks like Pointless B, Kats, Gbawe, Afam, NDU Chuks etc who give surgical analysis of issues (most of which are not unduly ladened with tribal and partisan sentiments). The Politics section is still very vibrant, enlightening and educative..

Garri and first to comment are very childish and inconsequential trends which would have died naturally. They have never been acceptable norms as you falsely asserted.

The real monster which NL management needs to address is the tribal bigotry that has become a trademark of NL. Almost Every issue is made an avenue for Igbo vs yoruba wars.

Demdem: The same MTN call log which the NJC had listened to and found Salami not culpable. Is there any other log that incriminates salami in ur possesion that hasnt been handed over to NJC? I dont care if salami is sack today but those that were suppose to investigate him and would probably lead to criminal prosecution says he has done nothing wrong. Why do u prefer to stick with Oyinlola's position that salami is guilty but ignore the NJC's position?
Don't mind the guy....

taharqa: My frnd dont just go there u hear. I hv personally made the concious decision to stay off debating this Salami issue cos of its possible extremely negative effect on d image and integrity of d judiciary, which is in all our interests. Howeva, dont behave as though Salami is clean in all dis. Salami was in communicatn at various times with oppositn politicians whose cases he was overseeing as head of d Appeal court (as proven by details of MTN call log); what was d judge discussing with dem about, just sharing sm of those beautiful yoruba greetings perhaps? Do u know sm of d CSOs who were vehemently supporting him last yr hv abandond him (eg Joe Odumakin's group)... Abeg guy, just let sm mata rest; it is to all our interest

“On August 18, the National Judicial Council (NJC) suspended the president of the Court of Appeal, Justice Ayo Isa Salami, after he refused the NJC's directive to apologize to the NJC and the chief justice of Nigeria, Justice Aloysius Katsina-Alu. Salanii had accused Katsina-Alu of interfering in the proceedings of the 2007 Sokoto State gubernatorial court case.

In an attempt to settle the dispute, the NJC set up three panels to investigate the disagreement. The panels declared neither justice was at fault, declared the issue resolved, and requested that Salami apologize to the NJC and Katsina-Alu. The Nigerian Bar Association reached contrary findings, and Salami refused to apologize. After the NJC suspended Salami, President Jonathan used his constitutional authority to recommend the compulsory retirement of Salami and appointed Justice Dalhatu Adamu as acting president of the Court of Appeals. The case raised questions regarding the partisan nature and level of independence within the judiciary. Salami appealed the ruling, and the court case continued at year's end”.

The PDP-Led FG under GEJ has taken profligacy to unimaginable heights. After spending such sums on their personal comfort, they turn around to tell Nigerians to make sacrifices and bear the pains of their wicked policy(SUBSIDY).

PoliticsRe: US Firm, General Electric, Accuses Nigerian Judiciary Of Corruption In US Court by GARRIx7(m): 9:56am On Dec 05, 2012
In its submission to the court on why the Nigerian judgment must not be recognized in the US, the General Electric relies on the US State Department’s country’s Report on Nigeria for 2012 which contains the following findings about the Nigerian judicial system: “Although the constitution and law provide for an independent judiciary, the judicial branch remained susceptible to pressure from the executive and legislative branches and the business sector.

Political leaders influenced the judiciary, particularly at the state and local levels. Understaffing, underfunding, inefficiency, and corruption continued to prevent the judiciary from functioning adequately. Judges frequently failed to appear for trials, often because they were pursuing other sources of income and sometimes because of threats against them. In addition court officials often lacked the proper equipment, training, and motivation to perform their duties, with lack of motivation primarily due to inadequate compensation. During the year Supreme Court judges called for a more independent judiciary”.
A part of the State Department’s description of the prevailing atmosphere in Nigeria further reads, “On August 18, the National Judicial Council (NJC) suspended the president of the Court of Appeal, Justice Ayo Isa Salami, after he refused the NJC's directive to apologize to the NJC and the chief justice of Nigeria, Justice Aloysius Katsina-Alu.

According to General Electric, the US State Department’s findings on Nigeria are consistent with a similar finding in the Liberian Courts for the same year, which a US Court of Appeals had relied upon to refuse recognition to a Liberian Judgment in the US.
What a shame!!!

Another achievement for GEJ....

Enoquin: I haven't watched the trailer but if he is acting as a man of the cloth and his appearance in the movie is limited, then there's nothing bad.
T.D Jakes acted as a pastor in 'Jumping the broom', there were semi-nude scenes in that movie that got me shaking my head but I guess they were trying to be as original as possible.
Is T.D. Jakes God??
Instead of talking about the implication of such an act you are referring to someone else who did the same thing.

Okotie has been into several marriages, does that make it the right thing??

In my opinion I'll sum it up in one word:

CelebritiesBisi Ibidapo-Obe Delivered 7months After Meeting Dino by GARRIx7(op): 3:31am On Dec 04, 2012
Bisi Ibidapo Obe claimed in an interview in October that Dino Melaye, a former Rep member and a married man was the person responsible for her pregnancy. In the interview, she said they met early April (See the interview HERE). 7 months later, on Friday November 30th she gave birth to a baby girl. Dino's friends are now pointing out the dates.

They said Bisi's delivery has further shown that the baby is not Dino Melaye's, that if she truly got pregnant for Melaye in April, she should not have given birth by now, going by her claims in the interview.

Meanwhile people close to Dino said he laughed when he heard about the delivery and also said he's standing by his previous statement. - "I am not distracted a bit about this joke and imaginary creation of a serial liar. Am not her 1st victim and may not be the last"

Get a DNA test and put an end to all this!
