duchess90: I tell you... I recently had an argument with a friend who is applying for her tier 4, she said the reference exchange rate in the UK visa office is the day of Biometric submission, i argued that it is the date of application which is stated in the form. I made references and she didn't buy it. What do you think? You are very correct, it is the date of application that is shown on the application form. |

Celomomo: Hello all,
Please I have tried to pay IHS monet with 3 different cards(Zenith, Access, UBA) but it is still being declined with well above the required amount - 585 dollars.
Can anyone assist me with guidance please? What am I doing wrong? You cannot pay above 500 USD with those cards. Am not sure there is any bank that allows above 500 USD payment on Naira cards for now. |

Skymoore1004: £800 is sufficient for an ok life but falls under the £1,015 suggested by immigration for monthly maintenance. However I doubt about making savings from it after rent, bills etc Ok. This is good to hear. All I have to do now is try and pay off the balance of my tuition before leaving Nigeria. I don't want work pressure to distract my studies, it seems it's the anxiety to work more in order to pay tuition is what makes many people lose focus. Just thinking out loud. |

I need a realistic on the ground analysis of how much a student can decently live on while studying outside of London (for me I am going to Derby)
My question is, can a student who has paid his tuition in full before leaving Nigeria live ( student standard life) while earning 800 pounds per month?
Or is 800 pounds not just enough for anyone to live on. Are there people who are able to make savings from this money? |

Now that almost all the banks have made a downward review of the international spending limit on their Naira Master cards to be $500, how are we going to pay for IHS that is £450($567) ?
Or are there still banks with monthly spending limit of $1,000 ? |

ExpressBooking: I have scanned and searched Instagram, Facebook, NCAA and FAAN official websites and handles for this news update yet it returns nothing.
Even a Google search on when international flights will likely resume in Nigeria, does not return any of these posted links for the news
So for now I cannot accept the news wholly until NCAA, FAAN or Ministry of Aviation whom I all follow on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter announces it.
Meanwhile thanks for sharing The Honorable Minister of Aviation just posted this on his Twitter handle.

mimilyrics: Yes, you're correct but the application is submitted before payment, not after document upload. The process is - Complete and submit application form - Pay IHS - Pay visa fees - use link on submitted application to access document submission link. - Upload documents. Documents can be uploaded up till your biometrics appointment and in some cases, you can still upload sometime after your biometrics enrollment. Thanks so much for this. I appreciate. |

mimilyrics: IHS is £300 for each year of your course + £150 for the extra 4-6 months. If your course is for 1 year, total IHS will be £450 + visa fee of £348 = £798. This will be charged in $ and how much you pay in naira will be dependent on your bank's rate on the day you pay.
You will need to pay online using a bank card (Naira mastercard, visa card or £€$ cards) after you submit your online application. You'll pay IHS first, then pay your visa fees before you can book an appointment. You might have to use different cards for both payments if your bank(s) has capped your Forex transaction limit; if you have a $£€ card that has funds that can be used for online transactions, you don't have to worry about transaction limits.
PS: For Tier 4 applications made from October 2020, IHS will be £470 for each year. Pls I really need to know the exact point I can upload my supporting documents with my online application. I guess the order is -Complete your application (application is made uneditable) -Pay IHS fee -Return to site to pay visa fee -Upload supporting documents -Submit application Please anyone that has completed their application, is this the order?? |

just4obitex: Hello house good day I have some pressing issues, I just got a letter confirming I have been offered unconditional offer in the university of derby. buh I didn’t see where they indicated the 2000 scholarship for international students, should I message them? 2) after the letter what next should I do? Should I go ahead to pay the deposit? It’s my first time, I don’t want to make a mistake and end bitting my fingers. @justwise and other great stakeholders please I expect ur solution before it becomes late. Attached is the unconditional letter I was offered Should I wait for another letter or I should start processing everything I need. Oo.. Fellow intending Derby student. This is how my unconditional offer also came. They didn't mention the discount. And the letter was just on an email body just like yours. But don't worry, I have received CAS yesterday and everything is showing now. Next thing is to pay your tuition deposit After that, present your 28 days bank statement After that, fill a CAS request form. Your CAS will be sent to you. Good luck. |

mamacajah: Please could you explain this? Thanks! Those who have finished a particular course in the UK (and are still living in the UK) and are applying for a Tier 4 visa to start a new degree course need to prove to the home office that the new course is either higher or it is in progression to the last one they did. Those who are applying from outside the UK need not prove anything. The normal Tier 4 rule will apply to them. Hope this is clear enough |

Good Morning.
Please which exchange rate will one be judged on? is it the exchange rate on the day I submitted my application or the exchange rate on the day I book for biometric or the exchange rate on the day I pay my visa fee? I believe it's the exchange rate on the day you SUBMIT your application online to the embassy. But I'll advise you to SUBMIT and PAY for your visa fees on the same day in order to avoid confusing yourself. See attached

Or is he just holding a regular visitor visa? If the answers are any of the former, then he can actually travel to the UK with a special arrangement. But if its the latter, then the Government is continuing to sow seeds of distrust in people's minds. I would like to know. |

mimilyrics: It's true for now. The fact that the working hours have changed doesn't mean that it would remain so after the Covid-19 situation. Better to keep checking the official source for updates to avoid running afoul of the T4 rules since the rules are bound to change rapidly as a result of the evolving situation. The change in working hours o my applies to Tier 4 holders who are eligible and are employed by NHS in certain discipline.

Just thinking, September is promising but not very certain. But in 2019, 250,000 visas were issued to International students to study in the UK. If these new students alone pay a minimum of 10,000 Pounds each as tuition fees, that would be 250,000*10,000 = 2,500,000,000
2 Billion Pounds and 500 million Pounds is the amount of money students brought into the UK economy. Can the UK Government overlook this money especially now that the economy is down.
I feel they have more reasons to allow students in for September than ask them wait till January.
But still, fingers crossed.

Donracy: I contacted Ethiopian Airlines today via twitter to know their flight dates because I need to fly down from Dubai to Lagos for my visa application and TB test, they told me that they have flight schedule for July 16th to Lagos. But it's subject to change should Federal Government imposes a restriction and I have been thinking. Is there anything Federal Government is not telling us? All I can say now is that all students should get ready as much as they can. The airlines obviously know many things we don't know. For some reason, the Nigerian Government is not straightforward in all these. When the embassy start receiving applications, the amount of application that will come in in the first couple of days will be like releasing ants from a anthill. Stay strong, get prepared, don't spend the money in your account, target to be the first person to apply. Wish you all the best. |

Why is Ethiopian airline advertising flights from Lagos to London on 16th July?? Nigerian Government has not lifted ban on international flights. Or is there something they know that we don't know? The seats on the flight is remaining 3.
In all of these, students shouldn't be caught unawares. It will be too expensive for many people. |

Yads97: Hi guys. I’ve been hearing it’s somewhat difficult to become a permanent resident in UK after study. And that even with the new 2 years PGWP introduced, students will be forced to leave the UK to their home country after the 2 years expires as it’s hard to see a company that’ll sponsor you to extend your work permit. I really just want to know how true this is. Your replies will be immensely appreciated. Thank you. What they have said is that your year(s) of study and the 2 years PGWP doesn't count towards residency. You might go ahead and secure a Tier 2 visa. But your years of residency actually starts counting from the first year of your Tier 2 visa. AND NO ONE IS GOING TO FORCE YOU OUT. |
