it was your mistake you certainly didnt do your home work before buying that car or maybe you wanted to save money with the scanner.

if you had paid a bit more and used the right machine, even faults that are yet to materialize will be detected. we run the launch IV which gets a monthly update.

you cannot expect an 8k scanner to do the job of a 350k job. simple logic.

It's not all abut scanning tunde.

Abegi bros.. I took a car I wanted to buy for scan. Gear fault wasn't detected..After I paid, I later got to know while travelling with the car.. Seems scan can't be totally relied on..
And it wasn't a rookie that scanned it o.. Hes a Nairalander Pro

Vehicle inspection and diagnosis are different from a scan.

Scan= plug scanner read codes and give to you. I can't create gear codes if they were not there.

Almost every one selling a Nigerian used car is hiding a defect or the other and it takes much more than a 5min scan to find it.

My little question, why did the mechanic decide to readjust your timing. Did he design the engine or does the manufacturer tell you to do such an adjustment. Meanwhile run a scan on your engine to get.The fault codes. Also how is the noise of your engine, your exhaust could be blocked or the timing belt adjustment has kept your valves open thereby reducing your cylinder compressio n.

Pls help, just did a scan on Toyota highlander 2002 V6 and got the codes P1155, P0330 and P0325. What could be wrong? Can faulty spark plugs cause all these? Noticed something like a misfire some days back.

330/325 Knock sensors on both banks are fried or harness is damaged.

When the driver told me the car has mega problem, I told him to bring the car to you. The driver complained of distance, drivability and that he called u. I also called you but u didn't pick. The driver offered to take the car for scan which I paid for. Since it was told just maf sensor, I felt it was a mere thing. Then he came up with door windows, atf, engine oil, spark plug. By then it was already too late.
I have told him to bring my 590k and come for the car. He refused. I pleaded with him to give me 50k to facilitate the repair he refused. So if u were in my shoe, what will you do?

Iv never met chucky234 or oseri, but I'm a fan to both of them, oseri is a regular contributor on most of my threads and chucky234 is a trusted car dealer.

From all I have read it's very easy to solve the issues at hand, chucky has offered to refund (very hard to get this kind of offer) oseri why not return the car and get you money back? Then split the loss of transport down the middle?

Plug scanner in, get codes, E.g p0301 engine misfire on cylinder 1.

Scanner has shown you the problem.

How to go about fixing the problem is not free, you will have to PAY for it.

But for use of the equipment is free.

Hello house, please help me save my car it's a C240 2002. She's a sweet ride. I did change of front break pads and rotor. However, before the change two(2) malfunction display popped up. 1. BRAKE ASSIST SYSTEM VISIT WORKSHOP and 2. ESP. After the change the messages remained then a third one popped up 3. BRAKE LINING WEAR VISIT WORKSHOP. @Kashif & @autowiz, Guys my toyota RAV4 2008 entered a bad ditch and water got into the engine and also the gear system. The gear oil has been drain like 3 times and still the shifting is irregular, it delays shifting and getting into reverse. Am at a loss on what to do next, Mechanic as usual is suggesting a replacement (tokunbo gear). Am in PH and there are limited trusted techs here.

It's crazy oh, still at the mechanic, gazzuzz even saw the car when he came to ph.Right now I don't even know which direction to go.

It's a bit complicated, it will require a new engine ECU.
