Most of what I could see at that point in time.



Going thru my head at this point is, make vehicle drivable transmission, small body work, steering then quickly flip it dru23 style make a quick 50-70k.

Then another voice reminded me that there was no run around vehicle in the shop and this would be perfect for teaching the Bois how to drive and quick errands.

I started work.

Called Eze to come wash the interior and trunk while I simultaneously started work in the engine area.

First things first a scan

Revealed transmission codes some solenoid A stuck one kind like that, I ignored it, inspected harness was intact, went over to engine and removed valve cover and timing belt cover.

The timing was off by a mile! Explains the loss of power and sluggish movement.

Remarkably, when the cover was opened the engine was CLEAN! As in what was obtainable in a foreign used engine, with good history, I went back to our chat and I was like this guy no wind me o!

My Camry don't accelerate more than 60km/hr unless I remove my leg from the accelerator and press after few seconds.. also the check engine starts blinking when ever I try to move more than 60km/hr.. please gurus in the house I need help.

I observed that my odometer is static, my brake light and ABS goes on and off while driving, the MPH is not working ultimately. This happens after driving 10 to 15 minutes.

How do I correct this? One of the electrician I contacted said it has to do ABS module.

20th of December (a sat) seller reminds me that car is still available. Personally I thought it had been sold (as I was not eager to go see it )

It was about 4pm and I was not doing much so I took a trip to his location, driving in my own vehicle .

When ever I'm serious about a purchase I take public transportation knowing fully well I'll be driving it away, but this day was different, I said let's just go and see this pile of trash, reject it and drive back home.

Got to location in isolo, it was easy to find, vehicle looked like it had not moved in months! Body was in fair condition , only had a really bad rear bumper , the interior was dirty! But nothing Eze couldn't clean up, the engine bay was as red as ikorodu mud could be with cobwebs , but interestingly no wires flying up and down. Opened the radiator and saw fresh coolant, Engine oil dip stick I saw almost clean engine oil at normal level, transmission oil dipstick was at normal level and very bright pink!

At this point let me give you a few tips, 9/10 times, if you go inspect a registered car and the transmission oil is new, car is battling a transmission issue .

At this point I asked the seller if the car could start (battery was in the car but not connected), to my surprise he said yes, in my mind I said NEVER!

Installs battery terminal, shifts car into neutral (didn't start in park) cranks and car came to life on first crank!

I almost clapped for it but as a semi ipob, you have to keep a disappointed face during car deals to get a good bargain, so I comported my self and remained in character (make i no loose guard).

Went behind with the engine running, there was no smoke , engine was a bit noisy but not the expected bearing noises, rollers belts and possibly alternator or compressor bearings, but nothing sinister.

Mileage 92,000km (57,000miles)

Underbody filled with mud but no visible violent rust.

Time for due diligence.

With the current plate number series, I knew vehicle had passed thru more than one hand in 2020, with the engine running (I was still amazed) i flipped thru the scrips (paper work) while watching body language and asking relevant questions (e no go make sense to enter crime fighters on Kia Rio)

Before I forget, I was impressed with the wheels, had nice rims but very bad tyres (I thought they were 14" stock)

Messaged my buddy in licensing to confirm if the change of ownership was properly done or if the vin was modified, quick comparison and it was a match and no one was looking for it (not stolen)

Paper work intact time to move the car.

I did not take a lot of pics during inspection so manage what I have plx.

I use a 2013 kia optima. car pulled up a P1326 with flashing check engine light and once that comes up RPM cannot go higher than 2000. if the error code is cleared, car works normal but the error code comes back in the morning after a 5mins drive. Please advice....

It's for a burnt gasket repair, engine doesn't really burn oil so no plan to change piston rings. Head bolts are not compulsory, but may be necessary if they have a hard time getting it out.

And you want to import parts



Uncle take the head to a machine shop for grinding (or better still contact me for a head that has never overheated) buy a graphite head gasket (perish the idea of metal gasket) every other seal and gasket is available original in the market. The headbolts on paper are not to be reused , but guess what? Every one does here and in obodo! Just pray your block does not have strip bolt syndrome if you do (I have a block for sale)

Good day everyone.
My car, 2013 Camry makes noise from the front driver tyre side when I reverse. Took it to a mechanic and he said it was the brake pads that it was too smooth. So I replaced the front brake pads. But today when I drove out, even though the noise has greatly reduced, I could still hear it a bit. And I decided to wind down while driving, I was hearing sounds like the brake pad was touching the rotor even though I wasn't using brakes.
Mind you, I noticed while he was changing the brake pads for the driver he struggled a bit before he could fit it, but the passenger entered easily with the same brake pad size.
When I mentioned that to him, he said I'd need to resurface the rotor. But I'm having a strong feeling that the pads are not retracting after braking, hence reason for the sound I'm hearing.

Should I go ahead to resurface the rotor as he said or what other options do I have?

Pls how else do one diagnose LOW OIL PRESSURE ON 2010 CORROLA.

Immediately you drive to some certain hours ,the low oil pressure will come on with a warning sound "pon pon".

It will be coming at intervals until you shutdown, den it won't come up until engine is on for some hours again.

NB : All the oil are new with filter and still very gaged. My kazeem said it's oil pump dat I will need to change and instead of doing that I should forego the engine and replace with a new one. I.e sell the engine at this stage and have it replaced.


His reason is that the pump changing is actually difficult and we may not found a compatible oil pump like, out of 10, it may be two that will work and this will only be confirmed after some hours drive again and the indications refuse to pop which means if we r doing so, we could b opening the engine everyday for 10 days just to get the compatible one. .
This is the dilemma I found my self and have tot to seek better solution from professionals here.
