Hi Car Guru in the house

I bought a naija used camry 2008 with 110000mileage. I used 5w30 mobile 1 and is burning oil. At about 1000mileage i add two liters to keep the stick full. i understand from this thread that it as a recall issue.
1. Please can i change to higher weight oil to reduce the consumption and what oil weight would you recommend.
2. Would you recommend any addictive to reduce the oil burn.

I wish I could use it a little bit before a rebuild or engine change

It was a terrible experience down there . Almost all the dealers that asked us to come for inspection are not honest . They ve no car . Imagine asking us to wait from morning to 5pm.to be able to see the owner of the car..not knowing there wasn't any car . Our intention was to buy it and then go for the upgrade . Right now we have not even see a good one ..hopefully tomorrow we might be lucky . Once again I thank you . I will contact the upgrade guy the moment we buy one

This Police Officer should be honoured. A sound and brilliant reply. Someone is enforcing a judgement of a court, and you are telling him to vacate the premises because you are a Governor. Is the Governor bigger than the law? Whoever loses his house to this judgement should sue the Lagos Govt for selling to him or her an encumbered land.

By the way, some idiots here are applauding the Governor for interrupting a court backed process. It is when you get a judgement against the govt, and it is time to enforce it, that is when you will remember that your comment here were out of ignorance or foolishness.

What has enforcing judgement of the court got to do with security and you being a chief security officer of your state? The Police are only there to protect the Bailiffs (Sheriffs) in enforcing the judgement.

* Starts in neutral only

* Horrible brakes

* No horn

* Very stiff power steering

* Tyres worn out

* Engine bay, interior trunk filthy

* Body jobs required

* Paint work required

* Rear bumper required

* Rear lights getting cracked (sunburn)

* AC dysfunctional.

* Car stereo Display not working

Most of what I could see at that point in time.



Going thru my head at this point is, make vehicle drivable transmission, small body work, steering then quickly flip it dru23 style make a quick 50-70k.

Then another voice reminded me that there was no run around vehicle in the shop and this would be perfect for teaching the Bois how to drive and quick errands.

Called Eze to come wash the interior and trunk while I simultaneously started work in the engine area.

First things first a scan

Revealed transmission codes some solenoid A stuck one kind like that, I ignored it, inspected harness was intact, went over to engine and removed valve cover and timing belt cover.

The timing was off by a mile! Explains the loss of power and sluggish movement.

Remarkably, when the cover was opened the engine was CLEAN! As in what was obtainable in a foreign used engine, with good history, I went back to our chat and I was like this guy no wind me o!

Note the passenger seatbelt was faulty so i took the car for them to fix, ever since then i started noticing this icon.

When I scanned I saw this error code P0136. I then clear it, the next day checked light appear again. I cleared it. The car doesn't have a catalyst...

Just of recent, my car doesn't accelerate, the gear selects fine but doesn't accelerate when I engage the gear and when on park, it doesn't raise so I went to scan & it read P2716: Pressure Control Solenoid ‘D’ Electrical.

Pls what does that mean and how do I fix it?
