madgoat: In my opinion, theres nothing wrong with this. Its a semi-synthetic oil. The people producing it are not daft. If u want full synthetic, use Mobil 1 but if u want to be using semi-synthetic, use this one. N.B. The Honda DW 1 engine oil is semi-synthetic
Xpac123kid: Thanks Gazzuzz. I don't really know how it was fixed, but am sure it was replaced because my mechanic opened a part of the engine and brought out the part causing the noise. Since then the noise has stopped just that it now gives P0014 and P0017 error. Do you know any good Mechanic in Kaduna to help take a look at it, or should I go back to the mechanic and inform him to check the timing?
Xpac123kid: Good evening house. Please I need you advise on what can cause P0014 and P0017 error code. The error code started displaying after fixing rattling noise on cold start in my Toyota corrola 2009. Thank you
How was it fixed? Replaced or repaired.
If repaired, now you should replace it.
If replaced, then check timing, if timing correct, replace it again.
olumzzz: It's just a lighter mobil xhp. Use mobil 1 instead if it's your 1st service. Choose your choice: 5w 20 for better fuel economy 5w 30 for better engine protection

drmuchin: My car leaks coolant from the point where the coolant temp sensor is attached to the cooling pipeline system. We used gasket seal maker to plug the hole. Could this worsen the cold start problem? Fuel pressure has been checked and is OK.
Modified: what is the long term complications of this problem is not solved?
Kanmiboy: I have a Toyota Camry 2001 model but finds it hard to crank mostly in the morning .I will have to restart it for like three to four times before I could get it started and this only happens in n the morning alone .took it to a mechanic I was told its coolstart. That has been checked with the battery even alternator still no changes .I was later told the nossle needs to be services. ..tanks ahead
AmandaLuv: Goodmorning sir. Please I noticed that my car's power steering fluid is low. A bit gone past half. Is there any specific power steering fluid for it or I can buy any power steering fluid? 2000 Toyota Siena sir.
Secondly Sir, am a bit worried, my Siena is nearing 4 years it still has the follow come transmission fluid it came with and its pinkish . My Kazeem tells me not to be worried that it is synthetic fluid that there's no point flushing it but if I still decide to that I should buy the synthetic transmission fluid sold for 18k.
Leave the transmission oil alone.
Any good brand of DextronIII is ok for powersteering
kodred: It’s not only the females of south that are rude. The males also are rude i mean look at jpworld, angryigbodon, felicity001, me , gazzuzz , etc
Saying things as it is does not amount to tribalism. This job exposes you to a lot of people. There are great southern people out there but the ratio is disproportionate.
It’s a known fact that the southerners are rude by the Nigerian societal standard.
So @angryigbodon stop trying to defend the igbos by saying the yorubas smell. Every tribe/region have their peculiarities.
My opinion: It’s okay to observe and call them to order when they err and not rub it in the tribe’s faces. It only kicks the defense mechanism like angryigbodon and jpworld, chijioke17 etc.
Aqib09: Hi chief Gazzuzz. Pls, i need ur opinion sir. A 2009 corolla is making noise when pressing d accelerator only. An exhaust leak has been ruled out by several panel beaters. It was also found that d catalyst is absent (by hollow sound made on percussing the tube underneath, even though no error code related to catalyst seen on scanning), mpg ranges btw 18-20 (city) CEL occasionally comes on, with P0455 and P0441 codes. The noise is not very loud but I'm uncomfortable with it. What do u advise sir?
dru23: Oga .. I think you dont want to admit that you are wrong.. It is ok to be wrong... The blue civic never had sludge during the time I was around.. The only reason it will have sludge if the driver that told you it had sludge was selling the Mobil 1 extended performance given to him ,and than using 20w50 ..
Full synethtic oil does not cause sludge at all... below is the picture of the blue civic when it was open up to replace oil seal ... you can clearly tell there is no sludge at all at the time ...
The driver that told you had sludge was either lieing to you ,or you are confusing red civic which had sludge, or you dont want to admit that you were wrong for advising the camry owner to use 20w50 .......
Below picture was the head plug seal that was replaced with parts that I bought myself.. This is common with civic , the head plug seals can cause oil to shorten or leak when worn out .. It is a simple replacement that cost about $5.00 for parts and easy to replace.. I was the one that pointed it out to the mechanic..The head plug seal was a secondary issue after the engine oil seal was replaced, and it didn't occurred right away..
The major reason why the blue civic was sold was due to excessive fuel consumption.. The car was taken to at least two different mechanics. Money was wasted and mechanics were doing trial and error up and down .. One mechanic wanted to do collect 20k naira before touching it.
This is a 2003 car that a mechanic couldn't diagnose, and if I had taken that car to Radauto , am sure I would have gotten to the bottom of fuel consumption.. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't have sold the car ......
Synthetic is not for everyone.
This car was using mineral oil before it came into Nigeria based on the colour of the internals.
2az-fe is an oil burner.
This is my last response to you. kindly find another thread to derail.
dru23: A car could be shorting oil for different reasons, now if a car has over 300k miles , it will short oil for the obvious reasons .....
1. Pc valves could be worn out and needs replacement 2. Engine valve seals could need replacement ....these two things needs to be check before recommending a higher weigh oil like 20w50 , AkA engine oil killer lol....
All these are from experince.. One of my old 2003 civic was shorten oil .. I was told due to the car been old with high mileage to use heavier oil weight , so I had them check pc valves, and it was in excellent shape. There is no way I would use engine oil killer 20w50 on my car ..
So I had Ayo Bishop take a look at it .. It was oil seal rubber worn out into pieces.. It was very obvious cause when he took out engine valve cover, you could see the worn out rubber.. He replaced it with another one, the car never short oil after that....
Samething with an elantra engine that I bought personally myself .. When I replace old engine with tokunbo engine , the engine was shorten oil , Ayo open up the engine valve cover, guess what ? Seal was worn out and replace .. Six months later the engine running fine with no issue at all .. The engine had 137k miles on it when it was imported by me ....
